The Runaway Theme - Extended (Series 2)

- So some of you had the idea of extending Series 2's Runaway Theme and I didn't include the buildup from 'The Runaway' in the previous video, so I thought I'd blend that with the Old Iron build-up as well as repeating the first verse again but with the added strings from the 'Shave' variant leading into the higher key section which also has the extra bit from 'Old Iron' too.

I like the addition of the 'build up' from The Runaway. I don't think anyone has ever done that prior to your arrangement.

This is what the Thomas fandom needed. The Runaway theme will always be remembered as one of the best composed themes of the show.
The fireman had fastened the coupling, and joined the driver and stationmaster on the platform, to wait for Henry's passengers. The fireman had forgotten all about Thomas's handbrake. Thomas simmered happily. "Not long now," he thought, as he saw Henry slowly approaching. But Thomas's brakes were not hard on, and suddenly he felt his wheels begin to move. He tried to stop, but he couldn't without his driver and fireman. He tried to whistle a warning, but he couldn't do that either. The conductor, driver, firemen and passengers, were all stranded on the platform.
Stop Stop! Shrieked Annie and Clarabel.

Ok, you’ve done it, you’ve made the best possible version, not just of the season 2 runaway theme, but of the entire Thomas and friends series. Well done m8!

I love that runaway theme, great idea to combine the theme with parts from 'The Runaway', 'Old Iron' and 'A Close Shave'. This theme was one of Mike and Junior's best themes ever :D .

You know things are about to go south real quick when you hear that synth gliss at 0:22. (AKA when the theme kinda "Falls/Collapses" into the remainder of the song if you understand that)
0:00 I notice a hornet right next to me and slowly start leaning away from it.
0:07 The hornet turns in my direction. I get up, and slowly back away from it.
0:14 The hornet starts flying towards me.
0:15 I run away from it as fast as I can.
0:17 It chases me.
0:23 I’m now running at top speed while it chases me.
1:07 I start running out of breath. The hornet’s catching up.
1:38 I spot a pond, and dart towards it.
1:48 I jump, and splash into it. I’m safe. The hornet can’t get me now.
1:52 The hornet flies away.
Bad ending: the hornets are still waiting for you outside the pond while youre suffocating from lack of oxygen

The fact they did this on live sets is amazing, having 2 trains running at near perfect speed to each other and having them not de rail is modeling beyond my level.

Went straight to the chase in Old Iron. Such a childhood favorite!! I like the suspenseful build up at the beginning. Everything seems fine until you notice the change but it is too late...
If this was the episode I’m thinking of I still remember vividly being on the edge of my seat when Edward caught up to James and the conductor was lining up the rope to hook on, and then I was biting my lip during the bit where he “scrambled” across to James’ cabin to apply the brakes.

Masterfully done! This combines all of the major bits and pieces of the various runaway themes into one visceral song. You can feel the building panic and emotion as the song goes on.

Really awesome stuff here! This would be fitting for any scene of a vehicle rushing to an emergency! Matter of fact, you could actually play this song while you're rushing to get somewhere you urgently need to go! Best of all, I even played this while racing against a train driving a light blue Lamborghini Countach in the racing game Forza Horizon 5!
