So besides wiping your saved destinations, what has this achieved for you. The problem I have with mine is that despite it being plugged in to power when in use it turns itself off and I get a black screen that I can't escape, like the internal battery has run down.

You needed to explain what you did with holding the power button down and also when to let go as not everyone knows that.
