I'll have to update the firmware. Surely Insta 360 will do a 180 3D camera now, with the Vision Pro and Quest 3 out in the next year? Strange how it was all about 360, I love 180, as I can hide behind the camera😂
Surely the Evo can do everything this camera can do because of it's dual lens, including view 3d content from the camera using supplied glasses, but also shoot 360 vr video or 180 as well? What is the difference?

Nice piece of kit The insta360 180 mod didn't happen, but if you purchase the drone mount system, the mount is shipped with both the vertical battery and a split lens mod, which can be placed back-to-back to form a normal 360 mod, but close-up sticking isn't as good as a normal 360 mod. This split lens mod are the lenses you see in the 180 mod images, so most of the hardware is available. I suppose how 3D TVs have fallen out of favour with the general public, could be the reason why we never got to see this mod for real!
I hadn’t thought about the drone mount system that’s a good point. Yes that’s true about 3D TVs - VR is getting bigger though so the market for using 180 cameras in VR is growing. 3D comes and goes and I think we will see another resurgence within the next 5 years.
@EatSleep360 3D is only going to really take off when it finds a way to produce a 3D image, without the need for glasses. I know there has been some development on a multilayered screen, which gives the viewers the illusion of depth. but, these screens can't make things look as if they're coming out of the score at you. yes, most things rotate around, back into popularity and no doubt 3D TVs will do the same. but, they better come back with a better method of creating the 3D image, or else it will just be gone again!
I've had one of these for a while, it's a shame they haven't added the DNG format to it yet. I find it a fun camera to have with me though and given how compact it is it's easy to take with you.
what do you think about 180 VR 3D vs this camera with a regular field of view in 3d? quality better and less eye strain since not having to look around like you do in 180? i ask because im deciding between the 2 options.
Hi Rich, I have the qoocam ego and is great, I watch the videos I record in the app bigscreen in quest 2 and I choose the biggest screen, fantastic. But I would like to know if there is a tutorial to show me how edit those videos changing the audio files to music I like, do you know how to do that with this? thanks.
@@EatSleep360 mmm no I’m looking a tutorial using premiere studio or da vinci resolve but it seems nobody knows this cam or nobody is interested but I see the videos in Bigscreen app and are fabolous, is a matter of time then
My sony td-10 shot in stereoscopy and was able to show me simultaneously and in playback the images in 3d stereo without eye piece, the screen was auto3d , had a lenticular embeded
No going to lie. I purchased the one R because of the potential for the 3D add on. Had i known this wasn't going to happen would have purchased the X2. Oh Well. lesson learned.

Curious if insta360 will revive their 3d ambitions with the new Apple Vision Pro
Thank you! Can you point me towards a tutorial for viewing the Ego footage on a cardboard, preferably loaded straight onto an Android phone?

Is this camera 180 3D or only what is seen through the viewfinder?
not 180

Also can be more popular for apple new gadget)) (

Yes I thought the dng was going to come with the latest update this year but didn’t happen
The firmware is now updated, and there is DNG!
🤙🏼 *80s vibes,* i like it 🤙🏼

I haven’t had any experience with other 180 VR 3D cameras to be honest. Check out @HughHou on RUclips as he has had way more VR camera experience.
Cheers Rich!

There is a Qoocam studio 2.0 but I’m not sure how much you can do on it.

Yes a lot of people did, strange why it was never released
@@EatSleep360 Did insta 360 ever say why? The add on was other website for a LONG time
Can you view in a Meta Quest VR headset ?
It exports side by side photos & videos so yes you can view in the Quest if you use an app that can display those
