You are a brave soul! Like you I too got super creeped out when going in those caves. I didn't make it 5 mins before I was like nope, not going to happen. I dont wanna play this anymore. This game and the first one are too creepy and stressful. Thanks for playing it so I don't have to.
I actually built a cabin in the exact same spot during my playthrough, it really is the best spot on the whole map to build a house

Nice editing work. It's nice to see a little effort with these new Sons of the Forest playthroughs.
The leaf armour is mainly useful for stealth in the forest if you want to travel without being seen.

Loves this series bro cut the wood into small pieces then fire wood don't use sticks unless you starting then add fire wood and the pot you need to go into the recipe and it will say boil and put lid on pot and the water will boil
You can't skin the blind ones anymore. There is a tougher spotted version you can skin
I always build the floor first then the walls, then the roof. This gives quicker protection inside the walls of the house.
BTW. the golf cart is surprisingly good at getting you across the streams and climbing out over stuff it shouldn't
You need to go and find one of the hang gliders up in the mountains. They can go in the inventory now.
You can grind out some extra strength by just stabbing and slicing the air with a knife.
Now what this game needs is a Dog for hunting...imagine that.
Or you could train a Wolf. 😆

I’ve found that if you have your lighter out and crouch you can sneak past the blind mutants.
..you can get your peaked roof, but it will take some 'trickery' ... on the flat spot, lay 1/2 log, on that lay 1/4 log .. then lay your full log on each side ... good luck
..the moose will get very agro in autumn ... be careful
..click the pot, it will give you recipes .. 🙂

..it sounds morbid, but ... if you hit the hanging workers, they drop useful stuff
..when you get the glider, be sure to give it a number and stash in your inventory
..did you get the can opener from the frozen area, and the slingshot from the middle dude?
..only blue glowing and spotted puffys can be skinned now .. they are blind but not deaf
..burn bodies for bone, even the puffys

remember to add some limbs to the drying rack for them to munch
build them a planter with a berry bush *keeps the food balance from the cannibal meat
the little bed is for your save and sleep, but Virginia likes a comfy bed too
and always have a fire for them (and you) to rest next to *a bench helps too
remember to give Kelvin some time off so he doesn't feel abused
you can nod at Kelvin sometimes he will tell you how he is feeling,
give Kelvin time *he was never really bright, but like that golden retriever... loyal
Virginia will watch your back, but remember she is part cat

Best intro ever 👌 Don in a golf cart. Legendary.
Use the stick light an equip the axe in your other hand. Click the gear to boil water. Burn the bodies for the bones.
Also its good to put shelves in your house to empty your backpack that way you can make the most of your travels. And if you take your door down and stand inside then put it back up you can add a stick and that enables you to be able to lock your door.
I thought this was a video about an actual cabin building thing 😂

@@BlondeDon thanks. Never heard of it till I stumbled across this video. I like the building mechanics and gameplay. But you’d figure your character would have enough skills to simply just build a boat/ ship and escape the island lol

Sorry for the long comment. I'm enjoying your play style in this game. I really hope you continue with the non-aggressive stance towards the natives as long as possible. Be aware that some of the natives will come to steel a log or two, but they take mostly from logs you leave laying on the ground, and they simply drag the log away and leave you and your base structure alone. Food will disappear off your outdoor drying racks but that seems to be the racoons doing that.
- The talk around the comments is that the guy that knocked you out at the beginning of the game is the one flying the helicopter and that he can send the mutants to attack you. The *mutants only want to kill you - you MUST fight* (or trap) *them.*
- Remember that the cannibals hate the mutants as much as you do. If a cannibal shows up while you are fighting a mutant, resist the urge to attack the cannibal and see if he will help you fight off the mutant. I've seen this happen on other channels, but when the mutant is killed the player then attacks the cannibal. Virginia and Kelvin both have a "trust" level that levels up over time and by your actions. It's entirely possible that the developers have included this with the natives as well, but no one has ever given it a good test. The developers are keeping it quiet if they did. In spite of the loot, leave the cannibal camps alone. Only loot them if no one is around to see you do it.
- Build a more lasting fire: Hold a 1/4 log, split in half and aim at the fire. You get an option to build the fire. You will split the log again and add it to the fire, and you can do this twice. The fire will burn brighter and much longer. You can also stack 1/4 split logs specifically as fire wood, either on the ground or in a fire wood holder.
- I'm not sure of the exact building mechanics but a triangle in one building square can be made by stacking a full log, a 3/4 log, a 1/2 log, and a 1/4 log on two opposing sides of the square. You may need to add angled cap logs to the triangle, but the roof planks then can be added to these two triangles. It makes a point that's a little steeper than the normal angled roof.
- Who you can skin has changed. It seems only the non humanoid mutants are skinable. The blind cave people aren't "creepy" enough. You can burn them for bones.

Unfortunately the blind mutants no longer count for skinning. Fingers(the "mouth guy") is one of the easier mutants which you can skin as they fall if you hit their leg. Also, you need to activate the pot to boil water. It shows a gear icon when you interact with it and there are recipe options as well. 30:29

The first game LOOK EPIC but i stop cuz Snappoints of building stuff is bad...very bad.
TONS of ice places but all able build is flat....i tryed buil on hils but game cant handle n switch between total wierd snappoints.
I gve up in sof2. I total handle the free building system of nr. 1 n still like to build stuff there...sof2 NO THX.
Very poor or unreal that i cant smash ice to get water....and many other points they shud fix before take in new.
