    I started watching this and about 15 minutes in I went down a rabbit hole that ended up with me playing guitar pretty much all day. Thank you for that. Now I'm back to watch the rest.

      Your comment was as inspirational to me as the video was to you. I just need a new guitar first. I'm a tool maker but I have a slightly handicapped wife and a 6 year old, so paying 600 for my dream guitar a used Epiphone 1959 they came out with a little while ago, is a little out of the question, lol. But you know as well as me how it is to have a bad itch for a guitar, especially now that winter is coming to Wisconsin. Just wanted to say thank you for the inspiration. I can honestly say that your comment will stick with me for as long as I am able. Keep on Jammin'

    Little Feat will always hold a special place in my heart because a very long time ago when I was young they let me sit in the studio on Lankershim Blvd. and just listen. I was nobody, just some kid who was walking by the studio and heard music, which I loved and still do...

    Scott Sherrod was absolutely the best pick for Little Feat..Been following Scott since he lead the Gregg Allman band..If you haven't seen his Band Of Gypsys & Laid Back tribute your missing out..He's extremely versatile & can handle any genre of music ( all the ones I like anyway)..Great interview, Thanks🍑

    Feat are the best band of all-time, grew up listening to them and are super influential for me- I must of sat in my room for hours learning their material and finding tones. Love these guys- often think of what lowell would be like today and always imagine how cool it would/would of been to have met Ritchie, Bill, Sam, Paul, Kenny, Fred and lowell. theres somthing very special about little feat, really connecting.
    Thanks guys for the inspiration and endless love for your music!
    Doing a great job Scott🙌

    39:00 anyone understand what he’s trying to say about string gauges??

    • @rickhimes
      @rickhimes 11 месяцев назад +1

      Yep. Scott has often pointed out that all those classic albums of the 60s and 70s were played on Slnkys (.10s) or super slinky (.09s). There's the famous story about Billy Gibbons telling BB King he was playing .12s, and BB told him "Oh, man, you're working too hard." Now Billy plays .08s, .09s for slide. So Scott likes to play his amps a little hot (Deluxe at 8, if memory serves), and pick a little light, to get better dynamics - he will also change where he is picking (closer or further from the bridge) to get different sounds. All that is easier with lighter gauge strings - and if you aren't bashing away on the strings, the volume comes from the amp, not the pickups, so it's a different dynamic. It's analogous to what Tim Pierce says - that nothing sounds better than playing soft on a cranked amp. When Scott was playing with Gregg, he started playing .095s as a compromise when he was using only his 336 and playing both with picks and with slide on the same setup. With Feat, Scott has more guitar options, and more slide responsibilities, so he alters his setups accordingly. But solo, his rig was 336 with D'Addario .095s, coily cord - Strobostomp - Zendrive - Deluxe/Princeton/Super depending on the gig - sometimes a DejaVibe. He's also subbed in the Custom BadAss OD for awhile after Jack Pearson turned him onto it. I'm not surprised he's switched to the Klons since he's currently in love with single coils - but that Zendrive with Humbos is still my favorite tone. Sorry, TMI I know, but when I get talking...

    • @metalmulisha0143
      @metalmulisha0143 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@rickhimes ahh fair enough man. My super bass just doesn’t have as much gain when I play 9s. Went back to 10s because of it. Also I feel I can’t play hard on 9s so actually reduces dynamics that way. Just my finding though.

    The gentleman repeats twice that there are Wizz Pickups in the guitar, but he is not interested in that, there is nothing to ask him about it, and we all know that he knows and has heard of Wizz Pickups, but because it is not an American or English manufacturer, the character does not want them on purpose to mention, what a shame, really poor, shameful and obvious. You came to do a show with a guitarist and his guitars and then you don't ask him anything about the pickups he uses and we all know how important that is. This was really broken and disappointing!!!!
