I was in Katrina and Ivan. Pretty much every hurricane to hit the gulf coast for the past 22 years. They are crazy
We had so many angels from all over the country come down and help us, I live in Long Beach Mississippi, I didn’t know if my 17 yr old son was alive for 3 days
Amazing footage of such a catastrophic storm. Bless all of those people!
Awesome footage of the storm! Hope we never have to go through that again.
Najja Foluke hurrican Harvey 😑
Emmanuel Sims Houston, TX was scary as fuck.
WDYM you don't have to go through it again you got another one bro
Then Came Ida!
2025..
Gulfport, MS native here that survived Hurricane Katrina. In 2019, we are STILL recovering from this storm. And for the people who don’t understand why people stayed, I stayed. My family and friends did not want to get into the traffic and those who did not live close to water chose to stay.
By now these people that survived Katrina , knows exactly what can happen !
Many couldn't leave they didn't have money to even get out of town !
I couldn't imange what they went thru , but I can say those that lived . WILL never forget Katrina and above ALL Thanks God for saving them .
Connie Self hurricane Katrina fells like the same as hurricane Mitch in 1998
I live in same place as some of them I know them now and OMG !!!😱😬🙏😰
Nothing will ever be worse than Katrina. Nothing at all.
2:06 Is it just me or . . . . I swear I saw a cockroach surfing on a piece of cardboard!
mouthfulloffeces Do you think it's still alive
DAMN !!!
+John Pellett You gotta show us the link to that
+mouthfulloffeces I just laughed SOO hard
He was hangin' 10!
That was sad seeing the submerged disaster relief vans.
I was there and I was one I still remember it and I can't get the image out of my head I was also there when gustav hit but I moved before isaac
What makes katrina deadly and destructive is the storm surge
Sandy was a rare & bizarre storm it may have been a category 1 but because of its size + hitting at high tide + the full moon and comming in from a direction that "never" happened before its affects were as bad as if it were a category 3 hurricane on the Jersey Shore and it did destroy much of our coastline, agree Katrina was more intense but Sandy was more bizarre!!!
Sandy? Which video are you watching? 😅
massive storm
I feel so bad for people that were there:O
Crossing my fingers everyone will be ok! Stay safe, I wish you the best
DARN YOU HURRICANE KATRINA even though i live in seattle
Wolfie Wolf I live in Florida...Wanna switch places?
And Katrina only made landfall as a Cat 3!!! We can't imagine what a Cat 5 would look like.
that's is crazy!
the storm surge was Cat 5 from the previous day when Katrina was a large Cat 5 and that surge had to go somewhere...our barrier islands were no match for it. I will NEVER forget this storm!
Imagine a Cat 5 moving towards Tampa, Florida.
Agh glad to see life jackets heroes 👏👏👏👏
Amazing
We don't like the tragedy, just the documentation of it.
Is the overturned boat at 2:56 the same one the Fire and Rescue guys were launching at the beginning of the video?? What happened to them?
they bugged the fuck out
I know, me too
sandys on its way toward my state wish us luck and may god be with others
dam that was the most out of the world storm now that am older some ppl did not had the money to just pick up and go like for some other ppl at the time some ppl had to stick it out but R.I.P to the ppl who lost love ones
Damn
im freaking scared hurricane sandy is coming towards me
Nature in the raw is seldom mild.
Although - amazingly - when it's all over, it's sunny and calm as though nothing ever happened. Yet there are vehicles on top of houses.
Wow
Being that the boat is used for disaster relief, in which you know there's definitely all sorts of stuff the prop can hit, you'd think they'd have a long shaft surface drive prop. That way you can power through even shallower water, and if needed, raise it out completely and use oars. At the same time it's an air cooled engine, so less problems all together.
absolutely insane, it's crazy what mother nature can do man, I'm happy hurricane Matthew wasn't a cat5 , and that it didn't directly hit Tampa, we would have been fucked
looked windy...
Mother nature doing what she does
Its hitting me in about 3 or 4 hours!
i searched Hurricane Irene and I find this.... wow
wow thats a massive stor
Me too they must've survived a lot
Can I use this for a video I'm making?

Ah yes let’s stand outside and get killed my swinging debris at 170 mph great idea
Shortly before Katrina, ING 4727 was under charter by Lafarge North America, having recently delivered a load of cement, and was reportedly empty just before the storm. ING 4727 was reportedly in the Mississippi River-Gulf Outlet Canal in New Orleans when the storm hit.[2] Evidently not secured adequately for hurricane conditions, the barge found its way into the Industrial Canal (also known as the Inner Harbor Navigational Canal) where it went through (or caused-see below) a breach into the Lower 9th Ward neighborhood.
While many other vessels in southeast Louisiana broke their moorings during the storm, ING 4727 became particularly notable both due to its size and because of where it landed. Although its dimensions are standard for barges in commerce on the Mississippi River System (of which the Industrial Canal is a part), it is larger than most Louisianan houses.[3] During and right after the storm, ING 4727 was moved around by currents in the flooded neighborhood, smashing houses and cars beneath it in an area of several city blocks.
I was 2 months old when this happened. Nowwwww. Like right this second I’m dealing with nate
I feel the pain mate, last year I had the worst storm hit California, over 3 inches of flooding, THIS IS NOTHING TO YOU!!!

Not cool
I'm so glad I don't leave near the ocean.
It doesn't matter where you live cause bad things can happen any where. Tornadoes, earth quakes, volcanoes, etc.. Think about all of the gas lines under ground, something could happen to cause an explosion and wipe out cities, a astriod could hit and wipe things out too. So you see it doesn't matter where you live.
+Jean Dyer That's true
@mathildawilliams god, god ,god
look For God if Yall don't want this to happen his the only way to good and not to bad as the devil and the voodoo. Praise The Lord because he knows why did this happen there in Louisiana Praise God
+Jeff Godsey nop is not the weather we leaving in the end times the Bible says in revelation
Brenda, after the rapture or "catching away" of the church happens that's when all hell will break loose on earth. Hurricane Katrina isn't anything compared to what's coming. I know that there are a lot of people who don't believe, but that's okay that's their choice.
+Jean Dyer well yea true I know bad things are happening and are about to come worst than this the only thing that we can do is to pray for one another.
Tavon Fenwick boy ur very lost You have missed the point! Hurricanes, for example, occur nsturally but they are happening more often and are stronger. earthquakeshsppenmore often and are stronger. Crime is increasing and gays are getting more and more brazen. The Bible tells us that these are warning signs that Jesús Christ is coming back soon and we must be ready. I urge you to read the Bible carefully, especislly Mstthew 24, Mark 13 and the revelación. There is a Bible prophecy program on 1630 AM At 3 pm Monday thru Friday that should help you undestand Bible prophecies better. I willbe praying for you.
