    Thanks for the guide! Made me feel like I was breaking into my own house and illegally change my own brake pads.

    Super easy and you gave me confidence to take my brakes apart and see if the pads needed to be replaced (they didn't!). As far as the music you have fans and haters and I'll just say that it reminded me of futuristic porno and I had to mute it 😀. Thanks for making this video!

    hello, I'm glad you found the video useful. you are looking for novella pads, just check with the seller to be sure. I can't give you a code as such, but just make sure they are compatible with novella.

      Andrew Stevens Can you give me the exact brake pads like their full name so I can find them on amazon

  • @brianjbarber

    Your video very carefully and methodically demonstrates how to change the pads, but aren't you taking the long way around? If you remove the wheel, you don't need to disconnect the cable or remove the caliper, which is a much faster process.

    Hi Andrew, is there any way to adjust the outboard pad? I've already backed the caliper itself as far outboard as it will go, but the outboard pad still rubs against the disk. I know the inboard one can be adjusted, but I see no adjustment for the outboard.

    One question, It might sound silly ,Are Bigger pads better than small pads? by logic I would say yes ,am I right?

    • @recordandplayorg
      @recordandplayorg  7 лет назад +1

      Predator7 7 the size of the pads correspond to the type of brakes used. usually a friction compound backed by metal. the thicker the braking surface the longer the pads will last. hope this helps.

  • @richk5350

    Just purchased a bike with Tektro Novela disc brakes and wanted to prepare for replacing the pads down the road. I noted that you backed off (untightened) the hex bolt on the inside, but did not re-tighten it. What was the purpose of this. Did it help with pad removal. Also found it interesting like another commentor that magnets hold the pads in place verses a bolt.

    • @recordandplayorg
      @recordandplayorg  6 лет назад +1

      Rich K the hex bolt on the inside controls how close the pads are to the rotor. This can be used to sharpen the breaks.

    I all ways remove the caliper, you need to adjust what ever you do. which ever u think is best, plus if you have no stand, there is no need to risk damaging the derailleur at the rear.
