The swung vases are beautiful, I like your collection of white vases. I’m a lot like you I have small collections of things old and antique. I couldn’t possibly start another collection, I’m out of space.
I always enjoy tagging along on your shopping trips. Thanks for sharing the history of swung vases. Very interesting. I will be going on a buying trip to Ohio in a couple weeks and hoping to find some ironstone and swung vases. I never find it here in SC. But I did hit the jackpot last week while thrifting. Found 3 Hen on Nest dishes, one pink, one iridescent carnival glass and one uranium glass and they were only $3.50 each. I almost didn’t stop. Had been thrifting for a while and it was the last store on my route but at the last minute pulled in. Whew….good thing my car brakes for thrift stores 😂
I really enjoyed this. I've wondered about the swung base. Not my vibe, but I love to learn about different things. Also, you gave a reality check to people who think you load up on goodies every time you go out. Real life, good stuff.
The Barnhouse Vintage in Swartz Creek had loads of swung vases! They were so pretty and some were huge! Fun to hear details of their origin. Got my mom her wall spice box in the little shop in between the Allen barn and capital barn after my visit with you….she’d been looking for a while for one…..those places and your hog creek are worth the visit! Can’t wait to come back!❤
I love from the beginning of the video... I'm a vlogger 😂😂😅. Like this video today..seen many ideas and just started crocheting last July with granny squares first and had a soothing at least few hours a day.. and I'm left-handed 😊.. you can do it ms Yvonne...yarns in America are beautiful!!!!!!❤
I enjoyed your tissue paper jack o'lantern that you did recently and thought that was something I wanted to try. I didn't have the jack o'lantern, so I decided to try it on a styrofoam pumpkin. It turned out awesome. I didn't have decrepit dust so I used cinnamon the same way. Thanks for the good ideas. Keep them coming! I look forward to watching your videos.
Oh wow! I loved the metal “boating bunny” candle holder at 27.25. I wonder why it was so expensive. Lots of great things for someone buying for themselves. I saw some decent prices.
My friend and I saw that lilac swung vase when we cam3 to Hog Creek. We were amazed at the size and color. Thank you for the swung vase video. It was so interesting.
That lilac vase was gorgeous. I watched the video and I realized I’ve watched them doing that. I love watching glass making n blowing. You have fantastic taste in what you buy and how you redo items. 😊❤
Can’t wait to see what you do with the wood piece from the thrift store! You have taught me an appreciation for ironstone, butter pats, and I have added them to my collection.
Hi Yvonne. I believe the lucite turtle could be a soap dish. That looks like pieces of abalone shell in the lucite. I don't know if you noticed but when you picked up the crock and lit at Goodwill, there was a nice piece of green McCoy behind it.😢 I could never own a swing vase....I am too clumsy!😊
I just got an amber swung bud vase from my aunt. She received it 53 years ago for a wedding gift. Along with the large Fenton amber glass shoe. I am thrilled to have them. I have had a few in my booth when I had one. They sold fast! 😊
Teapots have bulbous bottoms to make cleaning tea leaves easier. Coffee pots are tall to help retain the heat of the coffee. Chocolate pots are tall with a wider spout near the top of the pot so the froth comes out with the serving of chocolate
Yvonne, my Mom made many, many of those crocheted hand towels. She’s been gone now 35 years and I just threw away the last ones she gave me-they were worn slam bang out! Good memories. Thanks. I remember there being a swung vase at home growing up, but have no idea what happened to it! So many things that I have no idea where it all went. Lot of years gone by. Good video.
Girl I have been looking for a kitchen island and when you pointed out the copper table. My heart skipped a beat. Just a table to hold food on for a buffet for parties and holidays. Oh I absolutely love it!!!
So interesting that the glass makers really had no protective equipment on! Nothing on their hands, arms, or feet, amazing! Have always enjoyed watching glass makers. They are truly artists.
Hi i was wondering have you ever thought about painting your corner cabinet black that your hobnail vases are in. I think they would really pop. Your collection is beautiful.
Thank you for the information about the Swung vases as I live in England the first time you mentioned them I thought you said Swan vase and couldn't see why they were called that ! it was so interesting to hear how they were made 😊❤
Loved the history of those vases. I grew up with a gold-amber one on the family end-table (and, yes, there were peacock feathers in it) and it never broke despite 5 children running around. However, it seemed to disappear after I married and moved away, and now my parents aren't around anymore to ask whatever happened to it.
Your videos while you are shopping make me dizzy. Maybe you could hold the camera more steady. However I live your videis when you are creating and crafting. I find them to be the most creative informative videos I have seen. You have wonderful taste and imagination.
@@mollycottontail I was talking about the antique malls. Our Goodwill is way too expensive, and Salvation Army use to be reasonable, but now they label most everything vintage and put a hefty price on it.🥺
My dream has come true, my husband bought me a washstand bowl and pitcher by Meakin. It is huge. My anniversary present. Isn’t he wonderful.
He’s that BEST!!! That’s a awesome present 🤍💝
The turtle is abalone. A sea shell. Love it.

I'm thrilled that you gave such information on the swung vases. I've been wondering if there was swinging involved in the making of them.
Love the ironstone you picked up!

Thank you, yes that’s one of the reasons I share this

Improvising is the best. Love that. Use what you have and create away. I really would love to make more of them🎃

Maybe the reseller had to pay up on it
Thanks for the great history of swung vases!
Oh yes, the ironstone pitches are awesome. I love the swung vases...all the different styles, colors etc. Thank you for sharing!

I should point out my buffet table I have in dining room has all my lovely things on display. Lol
I’m a lover of ironstone as well! Fun video, thank you once again!
Lol, I think your chunky "elephant" was a lion!! I'm so glad I'm not the only one who does that!!😅😅
Tater needs the large wooden horse to play on. How amazing it would look in your house
Fun😊

I always suck in my breath when you pick up some of those things and set them down. ☺️
I have the same mushroom canister set, and I'm in Australia 😊
My nanna taught me to sew, crochet, and knit in 1978
That awesome 🍄🟫
Love the ironstone!

I like the white on white… I know it’s not everyone’s vibe
The lids can get discolored with steam from the coffee or tea in the pot
That is true 🤍

I collect teapots and I absolutely love the Ironstone teapots you found. It makes me want to go on a hunt.
I wish you would have got those twelve-dollar sheep, I would have bought for sure...I enjoy watching your outings...
I think those metal tags are from lg propane tanks. Shows the length of the tank to see how much propane to fill it with.
Wow this is a nice goodwill..
It really is!
Lucite turtle has abalone shell in it.
Love the Ironstone. You didn't show the big wooden piece in you cart at the Goodwill. What was that?
I’m actually not sure what it is
Thanks for the info. Always fun❤!
Nice

I love that lavender face
I have never seen pipe salt/pepper shakers before 😮 And a ketchup crock?!? A metal doll head 😮
Abalone Shell? on the turtle. ❤
Turtle is stuffed with abalone (an ah low knee) shell
I only saw part of a sale sign, but it was 50% off Pepsi (?). That box may only have been $19.
It may have been 😳I
Missed that
1st item you showed was a potato river.
Its funny how we always look at things that we already have.
❤
Coffe is tall. Tea is the squatty one
I came unglued screaming hanging McCoy I think, in the first of the video😅
😮
Oh!! I LOVE the second tea pot you held up with the lily on it!! Where can I purchase it?
It already sold… sorry

I have a lucite turtle. It is made with abalone shells. Unfortunately someone used mine as an ashtray. 😡🙄
But, my dear Ginger Snap, alternative name is Ginger😎. Elizabeth
❤❤
Looks like abalone shell in your turtle 😊

I was thinking that is a lot of money to be open, and not locked
That stuff is way too expensive!
Our Goodwill is way higher than those in Yvonne's area.

@@gailbrown8710 Yes antiques too are up about 30%. The Santa mugs are $5 more here.
