The task given was deemed unaccomplishable.
I love the way Michaelis - again for a WfM design - implies the idea of a witch hunter without being heavy handed about it. The name coupled with the colour scheme and general shape suggests something angelic, then you have the head design which is reminiscent of the Spanish marion - though more obvious with Grassley's Heindree - and flows naturally with the whole inquisition concept, and there's also an allusion to the crucifix with both the Michaelis' visor and the accompanying Beguir-Pente's four-pointed shield design.
I'm curious to see what happens with Grassley designs in the second season, as it seems were going towards a Gundam-based arms race now that Antidote is not a reliable deterrent anymore.
I was more getting vibes of Samus from Metroid with the body shape and gun arm
I'd say Antidote still works, but it's not a free win anymore.
Is it safe to say that nobody expects the -Spanish- Gund-Arms Inquisition?

This thing reminds me of samus' power suit. Especially when i saw the large pauldrons and that massive arm cannon. (The back thrusters as well as the chest reminds me of her design also.)

This kit was the first model kit I built and now I'm in the hobby far too deep. Love it to bits.

totally agree on making the standards of HG kits higher this 2023, weve got good lineups of HG kits especially HGWFM lines and it would be honestly disappointing if other new HG releases would be low quality build compared to recent release
Tbh, hgtwfm feels more like entry grades than hg due to their assembly. The massively overuse of c clips on join parts means it becomes weak with wear and tear easier than polyscaps.
@@SongShiyu I honestly want to kick whoever decided that they'd make the coolest fucking designs ever for this show, then curse the entire line with c clip joints. I get that they're expecting lots of new fans but polycap builds still aren't rocket science, and the plastic-on-plastic firmness is a moot point with such easy to wear down, hard to tighten joints.

@@AssaultFlamingo The c clips can be a bit touch and go (but the design seems to be getting better by making the c thicker) but I still have to see any of my plastic on plastic kits wear down over time.
@@MechaGaikotsu I agree that the thicker clips have been pretty firm so far and hopefully will stay so for a long while. The ones on the feet though, particularly the Aerial/Lfrith and Pharact I found a bit of a bummer, since it's on weight-bearing parts and they're smaller. I really appreciate the effort of moving on from polycaps, but wish it wasn't done by essentially applying a fine build system.
This is complaining for complaining's sake, I still love the line and will get most of them. :)

Of the four main corporations in WFM Grassley is definitely my favorite with their fantastic mobile suit designs and this one is no exception.
Love the kit to bits. Just wanted to point out that it gets well above 90degrees at the elbows I think you may have assembled them wrong at that joint. There’s a noticeably deeper cut on one side of the bicep that allows for a deeper elbow bend.

This and the Daribald were the last of the WFM kits i was looking for and I'm so glad that this line of kits has been top quality....now if only i could FIND these dang kits. I found the beguir in the wild, but I already had that kit.
That aside, still curious why they choose to name a unit with *blades* daribald instead the more obvious darilblade.

These recent HG kits from The Witch from Mercury are getting better and better. I absolutely adore this style of mecha which are refreshing

Updating the ranking system makes sense. I like the idea of having a new "baseline" kit every few years. So either with the release of a new series, or a debut/perfection of a new GunPla technology!
Just turned one of these into a Samus for my buddy. The shape and proportions really makes for a great Samus when it’s all painted up.

Nice gunpla kit, unfortunate that they missed on the opportunity for the beam claw effects rather than the beams, but I hope we get some sort of expansion set for the hg g witch kits

I saw someone salvaged the arms and legs of this kit and gave it to a 30 Minutes Sisters kit. Looks real nice. Hopefully I can get one of my own.

I love how each corporation has their own like competitive/special version of their grunt suits. Jeturk has the Darilbalde, Grassley has the Michaelis, Peil has the Pharact, Demi has the Barding, it's so cool.
Damn. Just found this model. Had tons saved from way back when Build Fighters Try was airing. I highly regret not ordering everything back then because the Build Burning and Transient Gundam have doubled in price if they’re even available and everywhere else seems to sell for half the price but makes up the rest with shipping. So I’m ordering the Michaelis and Build Strike Full Package as well as some stands even if I’m not going to build them for a while. Then, after some practice I’ll probably build another Star Winning Gundam. I couldn’t pass on buying that at the time because transformable SD Gundam are sick.

I think a big reason I love the design of the Michaelis is that its design reminds me a lot of Shockwave from the Transformers franchise. The right arm being a weapon, the sort of single eye, and the purple color scheme gives me Shockwave vibes and I love it.

I feel like it might be a good idea to have a "retro grading system" Where an old kit gets a modern grade and a grade for the time. Maybe nothing super serious, but just "for an old kit it would have probably gotten a silver at the time"

I just built this today and I loved every second. WfM has the coolest suits. I like the CHONKY Bois more, but that's just me
If this is considered on the pricey end of hg witch from mercury, keep in mind that hg lfrith and aerial on Amazon are more than 70$ each as of 2-2-23 and Demi trainer is 25$
Buying Gunpla in Amazon should always be treated as a last resort, the markups and things to consider when buying there is too much
@@disgruntledgun18 markups are the main reason why I don't go for a new release ASAP. Sometimes even pre-orders already have higher prices, and when the kit becomes easily accessible it'll drop in price significantly

hopefully the quality will stay as is for new releases and not downgrade in some ways. if it does happened (i meant the downgrade part), then bandai still has their special treatments for certain lines only

Saw this today in my local hobby shop and it caught my attention. Ive never gotten into WfM, but The arm buster reminds me of MegaMan and is really cool! My only complaint about the kit is that the upper chest/ kneck area doesn't like to stay connected, so the head comes off way too easily

If the pose isn't too spread out and is well balanced the stand actually can hold the model (though you probably shouldn't). I have mine on that stand currently.

It sucks that the revised rankings will do some older kits dirty, but at the same time it's clearly a sign of how far Bandai has come with these small scale models!
The front and back of the bicep armor are not the same. You have them backwards. That’s why you only get a 90 degree bend. If you put them on the right way around it bends more towards the shoulder. Not all the way but as much as the other kits with single elbows in this line.

I play “gundam mobile breaker” with my friends in between builds. You only need to play like 30 mins a day. Really quite a fun game!
Its a fusion of spinatio, alto and the come back of kimaris.

Are the other HG lines coming out keeping up with the WFM quality? I wanted to grab the new HGAC kits, but I keep buying WFM kits because they're so sturdy.
While the plastic on plastic joints make the kit rock solid, I think that there still might be a danger for loose parts in other segements of the kits going forward. Take the bracer here for example. Don't know how often it might flip off (JUUUUST got mine today, and started assembly for my usual straight builds.) but this might be an issue going forward. I'm curious to see if Bandai starts applying this format back onto the older kits. However, I imagine a good chunk of this has already been done with the EG line. They're not going to re-do EVERYTHING, so just the popular MS from days gone by.
