👍🆙️ 4 your great work man....
And yeah....RF amps are fantastic...not only for fanatics😎
Keep going on.... wish you will hit 1k subs, soon

That's a lot of headroom for such a small class ab

I had 2 of the punch 800.2 from the same series and the power 800.2 . model 1 of the 2 models I had tested 1500 or so on dynamic power.

They deliver lots of dynamic power 👍 it’s basically the same like the 800a2 without mehsa strips

I had some of the punch 200 dsm models that put out big power also.

I still have one 200 DSM in my collection - great amp 👍😃

These amps paired with a efficient subwoofer put out great sound, I currently have a 100a2 setup in my garage pushing a RF R1S4-12 the thing rattles my garage door lol. Currently have a collection punch45hd, punch75hd, two 100a2, two 160a2, 250a2, 360a2 and a 360.2 thats just Rockford Fostate amps. And yes I have a problem LOL

Haha, I have the same problem LoL 😂 I remember
My old punch 40ix well when it was connected to two eminence 10” subs back in 1995 😃

Great content with these old school amps. I have 2 of these 60.2.
Could I ask what thermal paste you would use on them?
    Many thanks Simon

      Hi Simon 👋
Thank you for your comment 👍
If I remember correct I ordered “ MX 4 Thermal compound “ here in germany.

@@audiokeller1975do you think this amp could power 2 subs at 3ohms each bridged, so the amp is seeing 1.5ohms? Thanks 👍

@simsimmer250 commonly said I would avoid it an go for 2 ohms mono min. It depends on impedance curve and the kind of music you listen to: deep bass or dance music with low crest factor is more dangerous than let’s say rockmusic or live music with higher crest factor which has less energy in it and the amp will not get as hot as with deep bass music. Also box type and enclosure , tuning affects impedance curve. Try it out and always check the temp of your amp! These amps have been dynamically tested by Rockford down to 1Ohm per channel. I would rather use two 4 ohm woofers. Did you measure the resistance of each woofer? What kind of woofer is that? Note that a 4 ohm woofer isn’t always a 4 ohm load, it has peaks and dips of impedance which depends on frequency and the things I mentioned above ☝️ don’t risk to kill that great amp 😃 the older version 60ix had more dynamic power in lower impedances but chances to destroy it were also higher

Lets really understand..amps with no dynamic headroom means the supply is following ohms law.. and doesnt droop the rails much... amps that deliver more for short bursts only.. says the supply is weak..this looks like a punch 100 with less turns on the secondaries of the torroid.

    • @audiokeller1975
      @audiokeller1975  11 месяцев назад

Or maybe bad rail capacitors because of age ? I noticed the difference on a punch 60ix and 60.2 regarding the dynamic abilities, they
Both Deliver same continuous power but the 60ix delivered more short burst power at lower impedances.

So your saying the voltage dropped less on those models? A perfect amp.. the rails dont budge.with a test tone the caps dont come into play.cause they never are allowed to catch up.. so this says the amp was current limited.. as in the supply didnt keep the voltage stable.. so we must recap both amps and watch the pwm action. And see what fets were used.and learn why it was detuned..i think to reduce falures..

Do you ever sell any punch amps

If they are out of my collection I trade them for amps I didn’t dyno to make
