    Yes, how many folks does it really take to bring up a child: schools, family, and friends who encourage & do not crush innovations or 'unusual' thinking.

    necessity due to growth. as in the baby needs bigger shoes - cause his old ones are getting tight & cramping. the universe is expanding, the source is bountiful. but we must leave the last foothold to move forward. or we’re standing still.
    why did the chicken cross the road? because there was something better on the other side.
    people crave change/contrast/alternating flavors.
    perhaps seeking diverse nutrients…for mind body soul.
    we’ve always been cooks. a person recreates his favorite foods he ate as a child, then tweaks it, to amplify the notes that appealed to his particular desire or need. also, he likely has traveled & discovered new flavors, or by imports, & now he wants to incorporate them, experimentally. to expand & cleans his pallet.
    which become their own genre as it were.

    Far too often the people rewarded with Gongs are those with Sharp Elbows

    Some become promoters of creativity simply because they steal ideas from others. Obviously I'm not referring to Brian Eno.

    So I might be seeing where he’s coming from, in the light that: the experiences you have in your community shape how you develop. The connections and experiences in your life make your individual outcomes possible, because you needed to connect the dots so to speak with that particular environment. However I still believe that it was because of that persons uniqueness in the first place (and we all have that in different ways) that enabled them to line up those dots in the way they could be connected in a working manner, which made the significant difference in their communities.
    Haha sorry I hope that doesn’t sound too strange. It made sense in my head anyway. 😂 Thank you! Interesting video!

      ye exactly, i think what he is really trying to emphasise though is the shaping of an individual through their environment, in this instance, in history, many people are rewarded for their brilliance however this could have branched from the influence of their environment which is stimulated through community

      depends how you interpret it I think he is trying to say that intelligence most often appears in individuals when they have a great upbringing or an upbringing favourable to developing intellectual traits, therefore if a whole community looks out for one another and wants the best for each other then they are going to be more creative and intelligent

      @@sspbrazil Not really. First of all, the measurement for intelligence, probably the most reliable measurement in all of psychology is only 26% accurate according to Jordan Peterson. Second it doesn't necessarily correlate to creativity relative to the subject or field at hand. Consequently his thesis doesn't hold water!

    • @sspbrazil
      @sspbrazil Год назад +5

      @@fppro1679 according to Jordan Peterson? Lol. There’s your first problem, Eno is right about creative movements and how every movement in history has had a group of people that have contributed to what would be called a scene, but it would suggest that say Picasso was the only one that was recognized from his era, yet there were many more artists of that era doing similar things simultaneously, also, Eno’s idea of Scenius is very valid as well, it’s where you take the strengths and skills of each individual and create a movement in creativity, you will find throughout history that there is no self made genius either, all are a product of the era they came out of and without others around them to pitch or expose their art, recognize it and popularize it they wouldn’t be known at all. As the saying goes, it takes a village and yes, intelligence is born out of villages that we inhabit or tribes if you will.

      @@sspbrazil yeah professor why don't you go ask a pastry chef instead of a card carrying, former Harvard lecturer in the field of psychology with a PhD who is published over a hundred papers and has a zillion citations on them. You just define the 21st century the century run by children.

      @@fppro1679 Jordan Peterson was a clinical psychologist Yes, Brian Eno is an artist and has lived his life making art and is giving a valid comparison from living within that realm, relating what Peterson has to say into this subject is like a pastry chef trying to connect dots with pastry cream. Why don’t you do yourself a favor and watch this entire interview that this clip was taken from, it’s both Eno and the economist Yanis Varoufakis, you might actually learn something and get out of the Jordan Peterson matrix before it clouds your head and you dream of lobsters. ruclips.net/video/awP2BFm8G1g/видео.html
