I like the little Dump trailer. I have been looking for a small one, so I don’t have to tow my large dump trailers everyday.I wish they would have included some medium duty ramps and somewhere to store them. You still need ramps to load up a little walk behind dingo or medium duty stump grinder, riding lawnmower, 4 wheeler, etc
A fair majority a single axle dumps don't have ramps, occasionally they are standard. Most brands, if not standard, don't offer them. Sure Trac does offer a 5' long ramp gate on their 5' wide dumps. We don't stock that option in single axles as it hasn't sold well enough, but we do stock it in a 5x10' tandem axle. We do actually have a number of brands we carry that have ramp on 5x10' tandem and single axle, and our Lamar brand puts them underneath rather than on the sides, which is nice. Also, take a look at the 4.5x8' Sure Trac dump, which has ramps included: www.bestchoicetrailers.com/all-inventory/dump-trailers/5-wide/all-5-dumps
Mr. Know It All, the rating is based on the coupler rating of 5000#, not the axle at 5200#. DOT looks closely at the coupler, axle, and tires, and whichever is the weakest link (i.e - lowest rated) is the max the trailer can be rated for. If they used a 2 5/16" coupler it could be stickered for 5200#.
@@BestChoiceTrailers like I said, you don't know what you are talking about. That trailer does not have a 2 1/2 to axle. Go watch your own video, you said it has a 5200 lb axle. The weight rating of any trailer is bases on a hell of a lot more then the "coupler rating". FYI that axle is 3500 lb. The trailer weighs 940 lbs. SMH
@@stevene9785 Au contraire kind sir, it is indeed a 6-lug 5200# axle. I believe you will find most all 5200# axles to be a 6-lug, whereas the 3500# axle you like to reference is a 5-lug. Also, most any single axle trailer with a 5-lug will have a 3500# axle, but the trailer will be rated to 2990# as it will not have brakes (required in most states to go over 3000# GVW on the trailer), will have a 4-pin plug. Sure Trac does make a smaller single axle dump without brakes and 2990# GVW that weighs approx. 950# which is what I assume you are confusing this for. This unit will weigh about 1500# empty. Anything else I can help you with?
