sometimes its just the was it goes. I bought a new lower one for around 8 euros. As shown in the video most of mine had snapped off due to hit. Good luck. You can do it .
No I’ve left it black as I’ve fitted chrome covers to them. Looks really smart. Also chrome covers acts as protection if some hits the wingmirror. If you want to paint the cover best to buy the preprimed cover from VW. Then get it sprayed. 👍
Holy hell that was a pig of job! Why the hell do they use such brittle plastic for the clips, it makes it virtually impossible to remove the caps without snapping or irreversibly bending a clip. Nightmare. Luckily I accidently bought 2 sets of covers so when one went on incorrectly and snapped I just used the spare.
The title is misleading because the wing mirror is not replaced. Only the covers are replaced. Boo....update: I found a vid that actually does show you how to replace a wing mirror here: ruclips.net/video/JEBUWqXob74/видео.html

1.40 you can start prying this up and snap all the retaining clips on the lower bezel.......thanks

1:54 DAB aerial option - useful to see. Drivers side. Passenger side has FM aerial.

Paul Y Point taken. It started as replacing the Wing - Mirror, but then I ended up replacing the covers to. You can do it 👍
