I've just been measuring our bubblewrap after watching your video and it measures the correct length of 100 metres. We have bought ours from Easipack for the last few years. I never even thought about checking until i saw your video thanks for the heads up to check. Now we just need to find a way to check brown tape is actually 66 metres lol.
Wow that’s such an eye opener! What a joke ! I’ve had a few in the past where I also knew just by eye how terrible they were. We need a fine for these companies or something, terrible scammy behaviour. Thanks for the video
I've only bought mine from schott packaging since I saw the last video you did where you measured bubble wrap. They are only 29 miles away from me as well and I do like to support local businesses.
Can’t believe trading standards can’t sort these sellers out! As it is business to business your local council trading standards should! It’s such a pain to try to measure bubble wrap and they know that. Well done for continuing to look at this issue. You should send this to Rip Off Britain or one of the other consumer programmes
Fantastic video, Simon and hats off to you mate. I was a little bit concerned with the lack of the bubble wrap music, but he made up for it at the end. 👍 it’s a shame that it’s highly unlikely anything will happen. Amazon are making too much fees from these companies to care.
Well we bought bubble wrap this year because we are moving. As you know moving home is stressful. The last thing you do when in this situation is measure the bubble wrap. The stuff hits your pavement and you open it straight away and start wrapping It never even entered our heads to check the amount we received So these sellers know this, they know exactly what the buyer is going to do as soon as the parcel comes It’s disgusting to take advantage of people like this. Shame on them. And the profits they make! It takes someone like you to show us their dirty practice. Thank you for exposing these sharks. Rebecca
We are lucky enough to live in the same town where your 'trusted supplier' operates from so we can collect - the staff at Schott Packaging are lovely , extremely helpful, and yes the rolls are far bigger off them.
Hello again. This is criminal. You have provided a very graphic illustration of this scam. I only have a small garden but I regularly buy both large and "small bubble" wrap, If you know the bubble size wouldn't it be possible to calculate the length by measuring the diameter ot each roll? Also I did wonder if the Amazon sellers are the scammers or are their suppliers scamming them? A visit to some of these Amazon sellers would be interesting to try and see if they are buying individual rolls or buying in huge bulk and cutting it into 100 metre rolls themselves. Very best wishes, Roger.
Well, we know the sellers are aware, because enough people have told them. I can’t blame the suppliers, how do we know that the suppliers aren’t advertising 60m, but the sellers are then upgrading it to 100m? The diameter calculation is possible, but would need to be better at advanced maths than me, due to the diameter not increasing equally/proportionally as the roll gets longer/wider.
@@Married2Reselling Yes I guess they would be aware. The calculation isn't complicated - you just measure the diameter of a 100 meter roll - anything with a smaller diameter is short of bubble. The only complication is that your rogue suppliers don't appear to wrap around a cardboard roll, perhaps an indicator that they are rolling the stuff themselves? Roger.
The 1st roll you rolled out I brought that , I knew it was very short , I left bad feedback Amazon gave me a warning and removed my feed. I’m sick of being scammed. I’ve brought some off eBay it’s fake, how do I sort it out . Great video again 🥃🥃
Try getting a quote yourself. 65cm x 65cm x 65cm / 2.5kg. Come back and let us know the results! Your issue is with the delivery companies, must be frustrating living in NI.
@@Married2Resellingparcel force was the first i checked 35 plus vat. Its great you know the sizes and weight of hand i'm just wondering is it your trusted company your promotion in these videos?
Hello Faye and Simon I have only just come across your channel. This is the first video that I have watched. I have watched you roll out both of the rolls, good on you. But I think it would have been a good idea to have weighed the first roll after establishing how long it was and then weighed the second roll. Then you would have seen that the second roll was short of the hundred meters anyway where it would have just weighed a little bit more than the first roll. They were both going back anyway. Do you not think it's a good idea to now weigh the rolls that you know are 100 meters and that's what anyone else should be gettingat 100 m x 500mm. I would have thought that they are all made with the same thickness plastic.
Welcome! We could do, the only thing is, some come with cardboard and that cardboard is different thicknesses in my experience. The easiest way to tell is the size of the roll. For our claim/reporting purposes though, we need to be able to tell them how many metres it’s short, because it’s sold by length.
Yeah.. I’ve measured it too many times to remember, and filmed it. If I can’t get my arms around it, I know it’s good. That’s why they’re our trusted supplier.
I've bought one of the Meown in the past, one of the worst I've ever had. Both in quantity and quality. In the past I messaged sellers on Amazon and they just ignore you. The dramatic music is everything in this video by the way! 😅
Yes, it’s a trick to get them to stick. Talk about products in seller reviews? Amazon removed the review. Talk about not receiving the full order in product reviews? Amazon removes them. Product shipped by Amazon? Amazon removes the review. We talked about this aspect in one of our bubble wrap saga videos previously, the best you can do is give one star and write something very generic like ‘poor company’ because otherwise the sellers find a way to worm their way out of it.
Tried, spoken to ‘supervisors’, then they realise that these companies are giving them £50,000+ per year in fees (just on this one product alone), and surprise surprise, nothing happens.
To be honest it would be easier to weigh it instead of rolling it all out, just weigh say 5 meters then weigh the whole roll then divide by the 5 meter weight, Not as entertaining I grant you but it's certainly easier & will save you on arm aches rolling it all up again!
If this were beer or petrol, they wouldn't get away with it. I'm interested to know the comparative cost per square meter based on what you actually get. The scam rolls could still work out cheaper.
My trusted supplier is between 9.5p-12.4p per metre depending on what quantity I order. These 2 Amazon scam sellers are 17p-19p per metre. If you’re interested, our video earlier in the year laid this all out.
Yeah.. I’ve measured it too many times to remember, and filmed it. If I can’t get my arms around it, I know it’s good. That’s why they’re our trusted supplier.
