This was a good video, I would like to see you guys do a part two, and I think these fights that could be used for Part 2, even if some of them are pretty old: Minotaur vs Bombshell (2016) Hypershock vs Bite Force (2015) Minotaur vs Cobalt (2023) Nightmare vs Beta (2016) End Game vs Deathroll (2019) - I think it is too short though Bloodsport vs Lockjaw (2023)
Great to see you making more BattleBots videos as we still await WCVIII, please I hope it'll come very soon. I think Lockjaw still might win the decision but the other two I believe the other bot would have won. Either way, these buzzer beaters are no different from other "what if" scenarios. Cause...... What if cobalt never hit the floor against duck? What if hydra was able to disable tantrum weapon in their s6 fight? What if tombstone didn't get high centered on his own weapon chain in the bombshell s3 fight? What if Bronco (who we now know that he's officially retired btw, sad 😔) flipper was at 100% in the Minotaur fight? What if bombshell never came back to life in the last chance rumble? What if Icewave weapon kept working the entire fight in the rotator fight? What if HUGE didn't split in half against bite force? What if gigabyte parts wasn't made with the wrong type of material against tombstone? What if complete control didn't hit the floor in the ghost raptor fight? What if SOW survived the massive hit against poison arrow? See these are all just endless possibilities that could of had a drastically different outcome of the whole tournament within their seasons
If we’re talking about any result we would like to change (regardless of series and circumstance), I would want Icewave to beat Ghost Raptor in WC 1. I think it would make the ending of the series much better than it was.
One thing I just will never get, is why Minotaur didn't just ditch the wheel guards for the Sawblaze fight and use the weight for more bottom and top armour, we've seen countless robots take early shots by Sawblaze and being unphased, I just do not understand. Just something that simple would have easily won them the fight and possibly the giant nut
@@Mortgageman145 I think it's because there's obviously a limit to how much armor they can put on the top and bottom before it impedes their driving and if they completely remove the wheel guards, that makes it easier for the gyro to flip them over when turning, which could make them mess up a bit
@@GetHypedandShocked Perhaps, but I'd argue that Minotaurs wheels are big enough to cope with more top and bottom armour, if not, they could have made different sizes of wheels, as for gyro, they could just attach little protrusions instead of guards and that would do the job just fine
@@Mortgageman145It’s because of how Minotaur is built, rather than adding something to protect the wheels,Minotaur’s guards are more built into the frame itself, the guard is also connected to the weapon,so removing it will weaken the entire bot
@@killerfish-battlebot Not saying you're wrong but source? Also I don't think weakening the frame a little would affect much in a SawBlaze fight, strengthening armour would. If you are right and it is really that detrimental, why don't they just build little stumpy supports instead to secure everything but not cover their wheel or build it as tough, they could spare some weight for armour

Those were definitely banger matches. First fight, Lock-Jaw would win the JD, 3 - 2 damage and 2 - 1 control would overshadow the 1 - 2 loss for aggression. Second fight, I would judge it in favor of RIPperoni with 2 - 3 damage, 1 - 2 control, and 1 - 2 aggression. Black Dragon made a good comeback but RIPperoni's benchmark didn't get surpassed. Third fight, I would favor it in SawBlaze's favor. 3 - 2 damage and 2 - 1 control, with Minotaur NARROWLY having aggression 1 - 2, though both sides had a fair case for aggression.
I think it would be interesting to see what would have happened if Quantum beat Ribbot or Ripperoni beat Black Dragon because their rookie season could continue to more greatness and they could've been a dark horse. If Quantum won it would beat Black Dragon like it did before, then probably lose to Hydra (Hydra would then beat Sawblaze and Huge likely and win the season) If Ripperoni won against Black Dragon I think it could beat Ribbot but more likely it loses and events go unaltered
Can you do more what if like what if endgame forks didnt get stuck against ripperoni and beat them Another one what if ribbot did get stuck on the kill saw and lost to quantum in the round of 32 and what if bloodsport didn’t lose to lockjaw
Tough to say which fight I'd change, likely a qualifier fight that would hold bracket changes if it went the other way. It does also remind me of an idea I had for thought experiment videos where a few qualifier fights are changed and the seeding for the new bracket is discussed/debated based on the new strength of schedule, thoughts?
Good idea but it might be too many changes all at once. I'd say a good start would be just reseeding for the bracket and doing just the tournament as opposed to that plus qualifiers
It's not even my bias speaking, but I also think Ripperoni would've won against Black Dragon if the fight continued as it did (aka, the robot could still drive somewhat, even with all the damage). I love both robots (and still sad about BD's no KO streak being lost to Riptide), and tbh, I feel like when it catches fire, THAT'S when the real fight begins! That robot will not die, even if on fire! I also wonder how far it could've gone, since people probably doubted Ripperoni before facing End Game, and then Copperhead - two very powerful robots - and beat them both. Would Ripperoni had been able to take on Ribbot, and continue forward, or would it had stopped at Ribbot and made it to the 16th brackets? I hope Ripperoni can somewhat do the same as Riptide regarding rookie position vs their next championship bracket: They were both at the 21st seed their first bracket fights. Riptide made 2nd seed this season (controversies aside, they were undefeated)...Could Ripperoni be next? Would be fun if they were, though it would be rather hard considering what they're up against and how people know a way to stop them.
I'd fancy his chances against both Ribbot and Hydra. I imagine Ribbot would go with the vert, but Ripperoni would win the reach battle. And if they fought Hydra, that raised front portion means there's less surface area for Hydra to make a solid connection. Plus I'd say Ripperoni has enough pace to expose Hydra when he inevitably hits a floor seam xD
The fight I would change is Witch Doctor vs Huge (Ik it was near the final but idc) WD would face Copperhead It’s a rematch and WD is better so I think it would go the same way it did last time WD would face Sawblaze Again, a rematch from last season so I think it would go the same way and WD would win the championship 18:23 ITS A DEFLECTION NICK!!!
@@halkitchen1838 I think they stop at Hydra. I don't see them getting a good shot on Hydra as there's no gyro for Ripperoni to take advantage of, not to mention Ripperoni's ground game doesn't seem too good
Watching Ribbot vs Deep 6 again, I think they’d try and do the same thing against Ripperroni and get chased down. If Ribbot ran their forks, then RIPperroni would just outrange them. The undercutter might work better but they’d still take some bigger hits than I think they could handle in the process.
Quantum Vs Ribbot, I would be confident in quantum getting to RO8 since it would probably beat black dragon in the rematch, it’s only problem is Hydra.
A Quantum/Hydra fight would be fun! I could see it going both ways: Hydra getting free shots when Quantum takes too long to self right, or Quantum out-maneuvering Hydra when he hits the inevitable floor seam xD
@@ColeslawAndTheBarangoat if hydra wins it would fight sawblaze and inevitably win again, which would probably have it lose in the finals to huge, which is another thing to think about, huge was my pick to win this year
BattleBots Reborn will return once I get more Cup stuff done. And speaking of Cup stuff, Season 7 has *technically* started, in the form of Patreon Qualifiers ;D
Yeeeaaahh I think the kicker is damage, because if Ripperoni can only BARELY survive the bell in our scenario, then Black Dragon would probably win damage 3-2 instead of losing 3-2, and on my card that's all he needs
