Do you have any advice for working with kids that I missed? Please share below!
I am cutting pieces this weekend for my 3rd/4th grade class (23 students) to build before school gets out. They have been working diligently to earn this class reward. Most teachers do videos for class rewards. I figure they can watch videos any time, so we have woodworking class rewards that we earn. Thank you for this video! The kids are going to have so much fun!!
That’s awesome! Hope they all have a great time!
This is a wonderful video with great parenting advice. your children are sweet and I'm going to use this for my grand daughters. Thank you.
Thanks! I’m sure the grandkids will love it!
Home Depot does kid projects for free first Saturday of each month. They get a free apron and a completion badge for each project.
My 7yo has done 72 of them and my 5yo daughter is closing in on her 50th badge.
Great video, my daughter is hounding me to make these now.
Wow, that's a lot of builds they've completed! That is so awesome, thanks for sharing!
You nailed (no pun intended) the magic of working with young kids! Patience, fun, creativity, structured instructions, short attention spans and safety. I have worked with many youth in the scouting programs and what you have taught here perfectly mirrors how I teach kids in the outdoor. Nicely done!
Thank you! It’s fun, but very different working with kids, and they often need various approaches and techniques to get the most out of them!
Very nice job Dad! The girls did a great job!
Thanks! They really enjoy getting to build something with me.
Lovely project! You have really made it fun for a child! Time spend together with a loved ones is priceless. Bet your kids love the time with you. I would:p
Yes, they really love shop time! Thanks!
New subscriber! Love this idea so much. Beautiful family making memories together. I’m going to give this a try 👍🏻
Awesome! Thank you!
Beautiful work with children
Thank you! Cheers!
Best advice at 6:40 if they get bored, don't force it. Great video, thanks
Thank you!
A lovely video, and great to see the sort of level I should be aiming at (far too easy to overboard!). The bit about patience is so true, and so hard!!!
With kids starting out the more simple the project the better! Wait until THEY are the one asking to do more complex tasks and projects!
Absolutely love this channel. Wonderful content. Looking forward to the next one!
Thank you! That’s so good to hear!
Great advice and ideas. Thanks.
Thank you!
Great stuff. JimE
Thanks!
Great stuff. Thanks
Thanks for watching!
As a dad with two small kids this is a perfect project for me to do with one of them. The other kiddo is almost 2 so I thini he is a bit small for this
Awesome!
Your advice is spot on! Thank you for encouraging others to get kids in their shops.
Thank you!
❤❤❤
Thank you!
I bet you can’t wait until you hear your daughter say to her husband “Just give it to me. I know how to do this.”
Oh yes, my girls are going to know their way around a shop!
Easy peazy, now get your wife out there.
We've talked about it, so far she's not that interested. I think if I had a laser or CNC she'd be more into using one of those than building something.
Am I the best buddy or what? You now have a good excuse to buy a cnc.@@biscuittreewoodworks
