You’re my favorite mtg content creator. I like how you don’t pull any punches on the power level but you still keep decks fun and casual. I may end up building this haha 👍
My favorite character in Street Fighter 2! I feel like the mass land destruction really sells the Spinning Pile Driver being a devastating finisher when done right!
Love this spin on the deck! I made Zangief deck as soon as he was spoiled (he's my main in all Street Fighter games he's available) and I always love to see content on him edh! Gonna add a couple cards you mentioned!
@@TheCommanderTavern ChunLi has been my main since SF2 arcades, when all other kids picked either Ryu or Ken. But then one day Juri appeared... I am Leg-Fighter-Tribal. :D
Yeah, I'd rather it be like Zangief has a pet bear rather than is wrestling a bear XD You mean because Zangief is not dealing the creature excess damage? Yes. But, once you got the opponent on the ropes, you don't want Zangief to keep getting chumpblocked. You don't give him trample until there're no other noncreature nonland permanents left worth making your opponents sacrifice ;)
I was thinking of a spellslinger approach using Arcane Bombardment. Ramp wouldn't be an issue if it gets exiled by A.B. with a few fight spells: Cultivate, pounce, tail swipe. Then do it again next turn when you cast another spell or during opponents turn with an instant fight spell (limiting how many fights happen as he won't have indi) at the end step. I'd prolly put mostly basic lands to abuse A.B.... but then this idea is probably foolish as im putting all my eggs in 1 basket with A.B..not getting removed...
Cards that exile your things "under them" will always bring inherent risks. But they're still incredibly fun though. So I'd say go for it - especially in a more casual setting.
I've tried to run zangief but I've found that he's really vulnerable to removal, esp removal while on the stack 💀. I've been thinking of splashing in more graveyard recursion and leaning away from pure Voltron just to take some priority off his back. I want him to do the heavy lifting, but no one is gonna let him even get cast if they see the writing on the wall. Plus he's so expensive with commander tax that I think he's better served as the general of good beats than the only star of the show.
Very true! At least being in green should help with ramping enough to cast him a couple of more times. Players are always wary of volron commanders like this one, so graveyard strats are definitely a great way to circumvent replaying him from the command zone at a higher cost.

Thanks! That's very humbling!
I'm glad there're those who appreciate the power level in which I brew decks while also keeping them interesting :P

Thanks! Glad to have someone understand that Zangief's gotta always take it to next level :D

Thanks! Glad you found it useful :)
Gief Main here. Did the same thing as soon as I found out about this secret lair. Lol.
Well done. I would swap some cards for a bit more ramp on the artifact side.
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
Nice decktech!

This channel needs more Chun-Li. :>
No promises / no spoilers 😜
(Chun-Li is my main, though 😉)

That thumbnail is so relatable because I've had exact wrestling match with my dog Jace!
Isn't Shadowspear's trample a nonbo in the deck?

Hm seems like a weaker neyith deck?
Maarika and Neyith are two different commanders, though.
