Playing the Bonvoyage song once/couple of times won't do the song its justice. I at first wasn't grooving to it after playing a couple times, but after doing so multiple times, the song actually rocks.
I was also confused about the story, but someone explained it on the bird app and said that it was a love letter to Earth. It's like we have spent so much time together (that we started to abuse her), and now it's time to leave her alone for now (to be able to regrow), but even if we leave her (literally/figuratively), humanity and Earth will still be together. I think Dami's rap section says it all
Edit: the song is really sweet, you can also think of it as another song for InSomnias, since this is also their first cb since they signed contracts again ❤❤

The song is actually bittersweet even though were parting ways but well see each other again in the next life

Is it just me, or is the English translation more than a bit hard to understand? Not just the language, only one or two real errors there, but the cultural context. Is it easier to understand from the Korean?
Bon voyage is anyon kaseyo rather than kyeseyo, right? So they're not leaving, but maybe they're packaging all the light colors into the "(natural/crude) white feeling" that is the fuzzy, floating, white seed with the three alien eyes, no? I think I just got that. They're sending it into space to colonize other worlds or something. The marking of red circles means they're marking dates on the calendar as important, as any day could be their last as they allude to elsewhere in the lyrics. Circles suggest hugs to me, so this might explain the weird lyrics about saying hi and hugging the tomorrow that will unfold for you. They're advising the seed, no?
@@Sean-tb2zz I personally find the English translation easier to understand (since my Korean vocab is quite limited), but I think the translation is kinda close to the Korean lyrics. The thing is, DC lyrics are often metaphorical, so understanding the lyrics (whether in Korean or English) word per word might be confusing. For example, JiU's line "Every cell in me is drawn to you" means that we and Earth are so attached to each other (since humanity has lived here for so long), then she goes "Even if we're apart we're still together" which may mean that humanity will leave Earth, or it could mean that we would leave Earth alone first (or lessen our harmful habits) so that Earth can regrow. "Drawing the red circle everyday" means that each day is important, we should seize the days to help Earth grow back again, and not wait before it's too late. I wouldn't say that circles mean hugs, but if it makes sense to you then it's okay. "Say hi and hug the tomorrow that will unfold for you" sounds to me like whatever happens, whether Earth would regrow or be fully destroyed, we should embrace the consequences of our actions (although it doesn't mean that we will just let Earth be destroyed). But it could also mean that tomorrow will be a brighter day, another day to help Earth. The seed/cell, I think it just means new life, like the plant in the movie Wall-E. Basically, it's really a love letter to Earth, whether it may imply that humanity will leave Earth or not.
Also, I wouldn't personally use 안녕 가세요/계세요 to mean Bon voyage (I guess I can for formal settings), I'm okay with 이따 봐(요), but I gues it still depends 🤷♂️🤷♂️
@@yaroyaro9533 Yeah, I'm more interested in whether Korean speakers can understand it. Japanese speakers sure don't seem to, though they get the red circle thing meaning important days if not hugs. I have no idea where that comes from. I've never known anybody else to associated X's with kisses and O's with hugs than maybe my own mother . . .
"Every cell in me is drawn to you" -- JiU sings it first? Again that only makes sense to me if they're singing it to the white fluffy character that they're sending to seed another habitable world. Then "Even if we're apart we're still together" becomes a logical inference of this.
"Apocalypse" suggests the world is being destroyed.
My point with 안녕*히* 가십시오/계십시오 is that Korean like French, Japanese, Irish or whatever have different ways of saying goodbye depending on who's staying or leaving, whereas we don't really in English. I think that this is why a lot of the English speakers are missing this detail and think the members except Siyeon maybe are leaving the Earth. They're saying "Bon voyage" meaning they're staying and whoever they're saying it to, the floating white furball probably, is going. Yes, I really do think, you see . . .
I personally loved it! And for me it is a non skip album. Hope it grows on you. Can't wait to see your reaction to the rest of the songs! Btw, propose is chef's kiss.

you are correct. this time it is vocal heavy. the instrumentals, i love it though. but it is not out of match with their vocals. it blended so well. you know sometimes, heavy instrumentals will drown the vocals, like its about music not vocals. but here, both are prevalent. composition is also really beautiful.
The "Yeah maybe you don't but, I love you" and the "I know you, I know you" is so catchy to me
I can understand it because each person has different tastes. Aside from this, I really want your reaction to B-sides in the last album and this album. The B-sides are really CRAZY!!!!!!

For me, they have evolved a lot as singers. The main track is not my favorite from the album, but rather the b-sides. Watching the live versions gives me goosebumps.

Years have passed and the Apocalypse has happened. The Goddesses had a plan and gave Humanity a Vision. Humans are to be completely isolated inside habitats protected by energy shields and let Nature mend itself. So they said Bon Voyage and locked themselves away, with the hope to return one day. The Goddesses created Celly, that exiss to repair Earth. After time, things stared to return to normal and animals and plants start to grow. Snow starts falling again. In the end, after even more time, the Earth is healed and Gahyeon turns off the habitat's energy shields, and we see that Earth is again a green paradise, ready to welcome Humanity back Home.

I have to admit, I didn't like the song at first listen, but as I keep on listening it over and over again, it starts to grow on me and it keeps on replaying in my head. I started to appreciate the song even more when I found out the meaning and how bitter sweet the ending of the apocalypse and it makes me sad. I really love the song now but I still don't like the choreography.
same i didn't like it at first, even after i listened to if for a few more times. but after listening to the nightcore i felt something different and now i love it (not as much as propose though)

I love this song. It's the story of Dreamcatcher's own personal apocalypse, told from 3 different perspectives:
1) Pre-debut Dreamcatcher (also known as Minx), who are at their lowest point in their careers and who have to make a choice. Give up their dream or re-debut as Dreamcatcher with a completely different image and sound. (verses)
2) Post-debut Dreamcatcher, who are treating every day as their last, going full speed ahead with their new image and sound, while leaving their Minx era image behind. (chorus)
3) Current day Dreamcatcher, a blend of both Minx and Dreamcatcher, who are looking back with pride and love at both versions of themselves. (intro, pre-chorus, bridge and final chorus) ❤

Tbh, I feel like Purpose should have been the Title track, and Bonvoyage a B-side. (Bonvoyage is a bit too slow and feels/sounds more like a Dreamcatcher B-side)

Purpose is a song that is title track worthy but it doesn't fit the storyline and overall concept of this series

I absolutely love Dreamcatcher, but indeed I also agree that this is not my favorite thing they made. The strongest feeling I got from this album is that I miss LEEZ. The production and instrumentation is sub par for Dreamcatcher.
But we can't obviously 100% love everything and there will be songs by our favorite artists that we like less. Still supporting DC, streaming, voting, and pushing for the next big thing! Fighting.

Hope you start being this “honest” with the other groups as you always do with DC. The only group you always have harsh opinions it’s dreamcatcher, but not the regular standar groups that do the same $h1t for years. Better check your “honest” concept.
People have different oppinions, learn to respect them. As a DC lover, just don't watch it if you won't like an honest reaction as the title says.

First of all that its the same location from Le Sserafim Antifragile 😂
Now honestly the first time i listened it i liked but i thought it was probably their worst cb compare to the recent title tracks. But after listening more times I find it very fresh, its similar to their old rock sound but lighter and brighter. I really like Jiu pre chorus its so sweet and beautiful and then Siyeon comes with the powerful vocals is a really good change. I still like more the other recent cb but this one still very enjoyable. MV is nice, outfits and styling is great as always. I love that Dreamcatcher is my fav group their music just hits different
Yeah it's a tarot card, it's undecided whether it's the 6 of swords or the 3 of swords represented upright and reversed - either one is appropriate for the song :)
I didn't like Bon Voyage on first listen, but the more I listened to it and learned about how it fit into the story, the more it grew on me and now I think it's great. Maison was the same for me, tbh. Didn't like it first listen, think it slaps now.
Demian and Propose are really where it's at on this album though, Dami pops OFF. And the line distribution is much more even. They have no right to go so hard.
