The technique used is called Tufting.
The Equipment: Pneumatic Tufting Gun - Anke Model ZQ-III (but there are others)
You can buy the gun in websites like Alibaba, Ebay, Aliexpress...
The backing fabric used is polypropylene (PP), but others can be used.
The yarn used is acrylic, but others can be used.
Finishing of the backing was made with Latex.

This is correct, this machine operates electric and pneumatic at the same time. The compressor must provide 200 liters per minute at 90 psi

One you need an air compressor and the other plugs into the wall. I think that's it I'm not sure if it effects the final product
Pneumatic produces more power to be able to create higher pile effects
Electric are limited in quality and an inexpensive alternative to the pneumatic guns. The electric guns have scissors for cutting the pile and a needle pushes the yarn into the backing. The pneumatic cuts the pile with a rotating blade has 6 different feed wheels and yarn tunnels, does cut and loop pile in 6 different heights, doesn’t stop the feed when your yarn joints reach the gun . A Hoffman gun. The VM 16 is about 2500 euros from Germany and the electric guns are about 140 for the ak series and a bit more for the ZQ 2. The A K series is from China and you can buy it on eBay as well.

How do you get the different lengths of tufting pile? Are there different settings of the gun or are different cut guns being used here?
She prolly used clippers to shave em down
The pneumatic gun comes wit yarn tunnels and different size feed wheels, I think there are 6 different lengths of pile possible. From 12 mm to 45mm.

@@DH-is6oj I think they're classified as an industrial tufting gun/rug gun. They're $300+ on Amazon. Haven't really seen them else where yet.

Definitely! But if they’re smaller patches, you might be better off using a punch needle. Tufting guns work better for larger projects

Thank you Carliane. So, we tested many types of backings. The pneumatic tufting gun is much more aggressive for backing than the electric gun. I think the monks cloth is recommended, but we did not find it here in Brazil. This is a polypropylene (PP) fabric. It was the best we could find, but not ideal, as it is very difficult to tuft curves without tearing the fabric
