Gee I love your videos Tim. This is one of your great ones. I'm an old scout as well and I just appreciate your love of the bush and the way you make it all so simple to camp and have a great camping experience. Keep up the good work Tim. Paul.
G'day Paul, My scouting days were some of the best years of my life growing up. Its those years that gave me the true appreciation for the Aussie bush. Just love being out and camping in a very simple way, just how i did it way back in my scout days. Thanks heaps mate for your feedback. Cheers Tim
? Mate this was filmed weeks ago. Besides that. Where I live at that stage I was only in stage two, and camping was aloud. I wouldn’t have gone if camping wasn’t aloud. Cheers Tim.
I went and did a solo overnighter for the first time last weekend, I had a great time, nothing like being alome with your thoughts in nature, appreciating the smaller things in life. Might even go again this weekend. Your video makes me wish I was out there right now 👍
Thanks a lot for your reply and feedback mate. As soon as we can camp again, i will be making quite a few of this style of video. Thanks again mate. Cheers Tim.

Great video Tim thanks for sharing the trips you go out on. Really wish we could also wander like this in the UK. Been wild camping for a short time and recently found the Aussie way, so much more comfortable than what I was doing. Bought a ARB skydome for my new ventures. Catching up on your videos and enjoy the simplicity. Best wishes mate and I will continue watching and learning 👍😊
G'day Lee, Thanks mate, im glad you are enjoying some of my video content. I really appreciate your feedback. Simple camp setups i find are the go, you don't need all that much gear to be really comfortable camping in the bush. Thanks heaps mate for dropping in from the UK. Cheers Tim

Hi Tim, love the channel mate. Been camping a lot in the high country over the years with mates, and about to finally get myself a 4wd! Looking forward to checking out amazing spots like this. Solo camping is a great way to reset the mind. Keep the vids coming
G'day Andrew, Thanks mate. Im glad you have enjoyed the videos on my channel. That will be great when you get your 4WD and start exploring the Aussie bush. Solo camping is amazing as long as you are geared up for it, and have the safety items covered. I appreciate your reply and feedback. Cheers Tim.
Great spot as usual Tim should be like Bourke st after lock down can’t beat camping solo or with good friends but sometimes solo with a river running to send Yu off to sleep a good feed and a fire makes us all appreciate the simple life being stuck in cona lock down have to change your name to Steven Spielberg as your filming is first class really captures the vibe best to date Tim this one gives us all hope after lockdown I can’t polish the 4wd again nearly worn the paint off waiting to put it in low range again Thanks for the vid Tim makes the anticipation of heading out again worthwhile 👍🏻
G'day Peter, mate i really hope these lockdowns come off in the coming weeks so we can all get back out and really enjoy the simple things in life. A mountain river with a campfire is just the ticket we will be looking for when the light goes green. Thanks very much for your reply and feedback, i really appreciate it. Cheers Tim.
G'day Ross, Once we can travel again, i have more of this style trips planned. I really enjoyed this trip, its such a nice place. Thanks a lot for your reply mate, I'm glad that you both enjoyed it. Cheers Tim.
First timer here Tim. I was subscribed and this vid popped up next. I’ve solo camped as a single mum a fair bit down but it amazes me even two decades later with all the Chinese made camping gear we really don’t need much to survive or have a great time out bush. A few good tips like the jar of garlic you spread on your quarter lol I look forward to seeing more!
Belle Kamp Gday Bella, Yeah the cook set I used is all hand made by an Ol Aussie black smith. Works really well. Thanks a lot for your feedback, I’m glad you enjoyed the video. More of these videos coming once we can travel again Cheers Tim.
Great work Tim. I'm a big fan of camping alone also. I love it. If you can't enjoy your own company then you can't expect others to enjoy your company. Excellent video mate.
G'day Phil, That jaffle iron is about 30 plus years old. I dont know if you can even buy round ones any more. It works a treat mate. Thanks for your reply mate. Cheers Tim.
I always put a blanket over the camp chair for the little bit of extra comfort. I also got a wood stove a couple of winters ago and get more heat but half as much wood
Tim Bates 4wd Adventures Your welcome Tim. I do some solo trips when I can with my telescope. I hope to build an overlander one day and take some more adventurous trips, all these videos inspire me. Keep them coming. BTW, not many mention what they spend for their setup. I think I’ll get an unpleasant surprise. 😬
Great insight on how to solo camp in the beautiful high country Tim. As a 4x4er and hunter solo camping is a part of my DNA and believe it should be experienced by everyone at least once.
G'day Jamie, Solo camping is one amazing time to go camping if you are up for it. Im hearing ya mate about it being in your DNA, its pretty wicked thats for sure. Thanks mate for your reply and feedback. Cheers Tim.
Oh Tim, how good is this! God knows if I needed to see a bit of great solo camping! I do enjoy go solo especially in winter and on the snow. It is just magnificent out there. Good stuff Tim. I enjoyed this one. You got pretty excited about that ice!!! I think you could do with a square jaffle maker instead of the crumpet toaster. Im also 100% with you on the solo camping. I’ve got it pretty much down pat with a swag mattress in the back of my 100 series and everything I need but minimal gear. Set up and pack up about as long as it takes to open and close a door and unfold and fold a chair. I’m not sure how you go talking to yourself all the time. I think it’d feel weird. I listen to true crime podcasts.
Gone Bush Yeah mate, the amount of ice on top of those puddles was amazing. That ol toasty maker, I couldn’t replace it. It’s over 40yr old. Makes the best toasties Lol. G'day Tim...have been a solo-er for years. As a shift worker for most of my time, I found that if I don't go by myself, I end up not going at all. As you say, great to have have others around but I'm also very comfortable on my own...better no company than bad company!
G'day Ross,
Yeah im very ok going out on my own.
I do like getting away with a few mates from time to time.
Just something very special out camping solo.
Thanks mate for your reply.
Cheers Tim.
Thanks for the quick reply
Kristine Harrower
No worries at all.
Gday Tim, I much prefer watching your episodes more than the ones on TV, I like how you show and tell people all the tracks and campground you use. Fair dinkum it’s great to watch, just marvellous, fair dinkum just great. Keep up the good work!

This is one of your great ones.
I'm an old scout as well and I just appreciate your love of the bush and the way you make it all so simple to camp and have a great camping experience.
Keep up the good work Tim.
Paul.
G'day Paul,
My scouting days were some of the best years of my life growing up.
Its those years that gave me the true appreciation for the Aussie bush.
Just love being out and camping in a very simple way, just how i did it way back in my scout days.
Thanks heaps mate for your feedback.
Cheers Tim
I have to try this Tim thanks for your videos.
No worries mate.
It’s a great camping spot.
Cheers Tim
Enjoyed the minimalist and relaxed pace of this video. Great to see this stuff during lock down. Cheers mate.
G'day Doug,
Thanks a lot mate for your feedback.
It sure was one amazing camp trip, thats for sure.
Cheers Tim.
?
Mate this was filmed weeks ago.
Besides that. Where I live at that stage I was only in stage two, and camping was aloud.
I wouldn’t have gone if camping wasn’t aloud.
Cheers Tim.
What an amazing spot mate. Truly beautiful. Toasty looked great I have to say. Nice one.
Mate, Native Dog is such a top spot to kick back.
As for that toasted sanger, it was the best mate Lol
Cheers Tim.
I went and did a solo overnighter for the first time last weekend, I had a great time, nothing like being alome with your thoughts in nature, appreciating the smaller things in life. Might even go again this weekend. Your video makes me wish I was out there right now 👍
Jarrod

Cheers Tim
Cheers mate ... absolutely keen to do this myself very soon.

@@scottmuhlhan7066 unreal mate.
You have some great trips coming up.
Fraser Island is wicked.
G'day Lee,
Thanks mate, im glad you are enjoying some of my video content. I really appreciate your feedback.
Simple camp setups i find are the go, you don't need all that much gear to be really comfortable camping in the bush.
Thanks heaps mate for dropping in from the UK.
Cheers Tim
Stunning camp spot, thanks for sharing 👍
Dan Cabban such a great spot mate.
Thanks for your reply.
Cheers Tim.
Cracking video batesy!!!
I love the way you capture the serenity and the small important things which are the reasons real campers camp.

It was cold camping , but still a great trip.
Cheers Tim.
G'day Tim,can't ask for much more I reckon, frozen puddles,a picture show better than Stan or Netflix, awesome tucker, solitude and views every which way👍I take my cooking oil in a jar,so I can spoon some out if push comes to shove, but you managed alright. Thanks for sharing, and making me envious just quietly, hahaha. All the best mate🙂
G'day Wayne,
That tip about taking your cooking oil in a jar, is a top idea.
I did manage to get enough out for cooking. But it sure did struggle in those cold temps.
Thanks mate for your reply.
Cheers Tim
Hi Tim, love the channel mate. Been camping a lot in the high country over the years with mates, and about to finally get myself a 4wd! Looking forward to checking out amazing spots like this. Solo camping is a great way to reset the mind. Keep the vids coming
G'day Andrew,
Thanks mate. Im glad you have enjoyed the videos on my channel.
That will be great when you get your 4WD and start exploring the Aussie bush.
Solo camping is amazing as long as you are geared up for it, and have the safety items covered.
I appreciate your reply and feedback.
Cheers Tim.
@@timbates4wdadventures I'll have all that stuff for sure, thanks for replying mate
@@andrew4x4au666 that’s great mate. Safety gear worth having.
Great video thanks for the experience
G'day Jorge,
Thanks mate, it was a fantastic trip. Very relaxing in the Aussie bush.
G'day Peter,
mate i really hope these lockdowns come off in the coming weeks so we can all get back out and really enjoy the simple things in life.
A mountain river with a campfire is just the ticket we will be looking for when the light goes green.
Thanks very much for your reply and feedback, i really appreciate it.
Cheers Tim.
Ok Tim.. You HAVE to do more of this style of 'adventure'. My wife loved this one, and is inspired to do trips just like this one. Keep them coming.
G'day Ross,
Once we can travel again, i have more of this style trips planned.
I really enjoyed this trip, its such a nice place.
Thanks a lot for your reply mate, I'm glad that you both enjoyed it.
Cheers Tim.
i used to do alot of camping by myself but enjoyed it better with my dog.
Taking a dog would be great.
But, I can’t go into the National Parks with them.
That’s the only reason I don’t have a dog.
Belle Kamp
Gday Bella,
Yeah the cook set I used is all hand made by an Ol Aussie black smith.
Works really well.
Thanks a lot for your feedback, I’m glad you enjoyed the video.
More of these videos coming once we can travel again
Cheers Tim.
Great work Tim. I'm a big fan of camping alone also. I love it. If you can't enjoy your own company then you can't expect others to enjoy your company. Excellent video mate.

Square bread on a round jaffle iron, what’s all that about Tim!? Great video, I’m bloody itching to get out. I can hear the VHC calling.
G'day Phil,
That jaffle iron is about 30 plus years old. I dont know if you can even buy round ones any more.
It works a treat mate.
Thanks for your reply mate.

I always put a blanket over the camp chair for the little bit of extra comfort. I also got a wood stove a couple of winters ago and get more heat but half as much wood
G'day mate,
A couple of good tips for winter camping mate.

Star Hopper
Ahh yeah mate. Lol
But once you’re set up, it’s worth every cent for the lifestyle that it brings.
Just the best.

Great insight on how to solo camp in the beautiful high country Tim. As a 4x4er and hunter solo camping is a part of my DNA and believe it should be experienced by everyone at least once.
G'day Jamie,
Solo camping is one amazing time to go camping if you are up for it.
Very nice video mate, I'm sure it is much needed for lots of campers in Melbourne at the moment, so thank you very much for taking the time to go out there and sharing this awesome few days you had.
Cheers
G'day Max,
I really hope that our current situation ends in the coming weeks so we can all get back out and go camping.
Thanks heaps mate for checking out the video and your feedback.
Cheers Tim.
Wow that's some cold weather. I'm in WA and we don't get ice or snow, never seen it! I know about Bluff Knowle, only been in the summer.
Yeah it was pretty cold in the mornings on that trip.
Just something about camping at elevation in the high country.
Thanks for your feedback and reply from WA.

@@timbates4wdadventures Anytime, love the videos.
Gone Bush
Yeah mate, the amount of ice on top of those puddles was amazing.
That ol toasty maker, I couldn’t replace it. It’s over 40yr old. Makes the best toasties Lol.
I just pretend I’m talking to other people when making the videos, seems to work. Lol.
I really enjoy solo camping, great times in the bush on your own.
Thanks mate for your reply and feedback
