    I've seen others use a palette knife to put what colors they need onto their palette to keep the colors clean. 😊

      @@drawplet trueee! But I thought you'd thrive at landscapes since you're so good on judging to not overwork your paintings. Whereas even with a conscious head I still overwork everything >

    I would love to see a comparison video of the two just to see the difference even though there is a major price difference. I love how this looks on the craft paper!

      but in terms of the texture I think its hard to show on camera, but it's definitely different :p

    Seeing the gouache is so satisfying and your drawing is so good you should do more gouache paintings and plz try poster paints. I have got them for Christmas and wanted to try them.

      Oh thats great! Poster paints are actually similar to gouache but more opaque from what I've heard, so you can paint something similar using them :)

    I’ve seen some you tubers take out paint with a palette knife and seal the container up again to keep them fresh. Just an idea, definitely could see them drying. Great details and enjoyed seeing all the colours! 😍👍 beautiful pastel flowers too!

    The flowers are beautiful you painted. Question: to keep paints moist, could one use a piece of plastic wrap placed over the paints before closing the pan?

      Yes :D A few people recommended using cling wrap before closing the lid

    Thank you Nia. I didn't realize mold could grow on watercolors, it's good to know. I usually leave mine open to dry because it just seemed a cleaner way to store them.
    I usually watch your videos much sooner but this has been a terrible week. I look forward to next week's in watercolor though. It looks very pretty.

      Yeaaaa I learnt this from Teoh Yi Chie's Channel. I tend to open them for a day before closing so it doesn't happen to me. But considering with this gouache we try to keep it wet, I thought that it could be a concern.

      You are doing the right thing. Just let them air dry before you cover them or close the lid on a palette box and should be fine. .

    I did get a colour chart and both the colour chart and the label said the pink was called purple too. It confuses me as well.

    What’s the brush you started with using? I see you wrote Giorgione in your description but that’s the himi brush right?

      Nope. It's Giorgiorne :) Himi brush has white bristles

    Thanks for this Nia! I was just contemplating whether to buy one or not since it's on sale in an online shop here in the Philippines.
    Btw I saw them selling a Himi Spray for the gouache paint to keep it moist and to avoid molds I think
    Also the painting at the end is great ❤️

    winsor newton's gouache is actually a designer gouache! it's a little lower quality than artist grade ;) they're actually a really good brand to compare to other gouache since most people usually start with winsor newton gouache :)

      Ah really! I didn't know that :D Thanks for the info! I thought designer's and artist is the same grade, silly me. What are examples of artist grade gouache you'd recommend? I find that WN is very good already compared to others I've used.

      @@gantzleny6074 Oh I see! I usually use holbein watercolors, and the holbein gouache is actually cheaper here where I live compared to WN gouache :O

    Love your video as always. I used to have it, but I gave it to my cousin. I didn't use it very often. As someone who did art like twice a month, I don't really think I can make a good use out of it. Also I went back my hometown rn and I don't know how to bring this paint with me anyway😂

      I've always been interested in arts and crafts since I was really young.. I can't really remember when or give you an age but I've always been scribbling as a child and I started drawing more and more in junior school :)

      In my country it was mandatory to use oil pastels at school. So I guess that was the first medium just like a lot of other Indonesians xD

    I’ve been looking at these for months but still I’ve not bought them. What’s putting me off purchasing these are: cannot see where to buy refills open stock, not lightfast and dry solid over a period of months, student grade, streaky on the paper. The weird thing is I’m still watching reviews on these paints. 🤔
