There's a video showing the colour difference between arteza, wn and himi ruclips.net/video/KrTJLoShEOQ/видео.html but in terms of the texture I think its hard to show on camera, but it's definitely different :p
Seeing the gouache is so satisfying and your drawing is so good you should do more gouache paintings and plz try poster paints. I have got them for Christmas and wanted to try them.
I’ve seen some you tubers take out paint with a palette knife and seal the container up again to keep them fresh. Just an idea, definitely could see them drying. Great details and enjoyed seeing all the colours! 😍👍 beautiful pastel flowers too!
The flowers are beautiful you painted. Question: to keep paints moist, could one use a piece of plastic wrap placed over the paints before closing the pan?
Thank you Nia. I didn't realize mold could grow on watercolors, it's good to know. I usually leave mine open to dry because it just seemed a cleaner way to store them. I usually watch your videos much sooner but this has been a terrible week. I look forward to next week's in watercolor though. It looks very pretty.
Yeaaaa I learnt this from Teoh Yi Chie's Channel. I tend to open them for a day before closing so it doesn't happen to me. But considering with this gouache we try to keep it wet, I thought that it could be a concern. Sorry to hear that you're not having a good week. Hope everything gets better soon ❤️
Thanks for this Nia! I was just contemplating whether to buy one or not since it's on sale in an online shop here in the Philippines. Btw I saw them selling a Himi Spray for the gouache paint to keep it moist and to avoid molds I think Also the painting at the end is great ❤️
winsor newton's gouache is actually a designer gouache! it's a little lower quality than artist grade ;) they're actually a really good brand to compare to other gouache since most people usually start with winsor newton gouache :)
Ah really! I didn't know that :D Thanks for the info! I thought designer's and artist is the same grade, silly me. What are examples of artist grade gouache you'd recommend? I find that WN is very good already compared to others I've used.

I’ve been looking at these for months but still I’ve not bought them. What’s putting me off purchasing these are: cannot see where to buy refills open stock, not lightfast and dry solid over a period of months, student grade, streaky on the paper. The weird thing is I’m still watching reviews on these paints. 🤔
I've seen others use a palette knife to put what colors they need onto their palette to keep the colors clean. 😊
Great idea! :D
You are the best of many artists I see
Aw thanks! There are way better artists around though :p I still have plenty to learn :D
It's super helpful to see how much paint you take out of the cups, and what you're doing on the pallette. Thank you so much!!
