k10 is a pocket rocket specially old one Power to Weight ratio is about 93 hp per ton 0 to 100 is even same as swift 1.2 Even has faster torque output than swift petrol 1.2
we had a Maruti zen carb engine that was one of the best car no matter if they launch it today....... That was an absolute fun car and had better build as well
car shaking when trucks pass by doesnt mean bad built quality. its a light car, it will happen. my dad has a ford edge awd and its pretty heavy and have 245 r19 tyres... so pretty wide ones and it still shakes a tiny bit when a huge truck or a bike going 200km/h passes by.
I completely agree with Pranav. My Alto K10 is also a similar model (VXI optional) and its an amazing car. In the last 2 and half years I have driven it for 30K Kms without any hassles. In fact I commute 60 kms everyday to my office (Delhi to Greater Noida) and at 100 Kmph (that's the speed limit of the expressway) the car is amazingly stable. In fact in many of the other highway drives, at 110 kmph the car is surprisingly stable with just the driver inside. As for mileage, I am getting around 20 kms to the litre.

its not cars that are unstable at high speed half the time, its the drivers that are not used to high speeds. my relatives from india came abroad and my dad was driving at 120km/h and they felt a bit weasey. also my mom has driven a 1999 zen at 100km/h and she never found it unstable (even though others have) because she is used to driving fast.
By unstable, he means the car shaking or rattling structurally due to wind resistance at higher speeds. I've driven a Wagon R at 140+ on a good highway, but I felt the structural deficiencies at that speed, even though I am used to driving fast and aggressive.
The alto is best in its class,vfm, I have 2004 one, manual fun af , easy on wallet build quality is certainly better than newer marutis (back then no 4star safety car lol) has the mechanical feel to it, I learned some basic wrenching on it, it's like an emotion to family when they hear alto

There's 0 safety in here. I drove this car once. I would say it's good within city or going outskirts a bit. Highway pe ALTO,WAGONR,EECO are unstable. But this car is amazing to drive in city. CNG daldo bas ❤️

Well I feel maruti alto is good for 1. People who have small family with preferably small kids. 2. Who doesn't carry much luggage. 3. Who like not to speed more tha 100 kmph ( Well I drove on yamuna expressway at 140 km/hr too but steering and whole car become too light doesn't give much confidence at such speed) 4. Who travel a lot (because its engine last for long + good fuel efficiency) 5. Who are not more than 6 foot long 6. Travel to remote areas (any one can service it) Pros of Alto is 1. Engine - Superb, my current odometer reading is 52K. No problem at all. But less powerful of course it is 800 cc engine. Power is more than sufficient for doing job. 2. Maintainance: Easy, Cheap (if you stick to user manual) and available 3. Fuel Economy 4. Good AC. 5. Overall parts quality - doesn't wear and tear. 6. Small size, if you are travelling to mountains, old cities then it is very easy to maneuver. It is very easy to park. 7. Car is small so everything is under reach. 8. Good resale value: after 6-7 years if are bored or need a bigger car due to increase in family size, you can sell this car with less pain. Cons: 1. Safety - Yes it is less a less safe car. 2. Overall space. 3. Seat comfort. 4. Absence of modern day features.

We still have our first car, our alto at home which we have driven for more than 2 lakh kilometres !!!!!! Guess what, body rattle noises are evident, but the engine is in superb condition till date !
Have amt version of this car (my mom drives it) . Its crap car, a good one for beginners, but nowadays beginners buy better cars than this. When you sit in this car, you feel like you are sitting in floor. Performance is terrible, that too amt on this is like 😶. Now i am not even able to fit in this car properly, my leg would hit the dash. Planning to get a new one.
We own 2 other bigger cars and I don't need this car but I haven't been able to sell it yet. I have the exact same model and I have driven it for 50k. The sheer city performance and convenience is unparalleled.

only gears are not very smooth in fifth generation manual rest everthing is good but not a driver delight car as vento or xuv 300. but the car is good in comfort little soft suspension to improve ride quality which sometimes make ride bouncy on high speeds. But handling is not an issue but 1.5l ivtec petrol engine is class leading
Owner chose mileage over safety and when he said that he would buy Swift LDi . Ultimately it's affordability and cost of maintenance that rules over safety.
I have the same exact car, just different colour and purchased in 2017. But if I could go back in time, I would have purchased Tiago. The only good part about this car is the chuckability of the car in city traffic, and the engine at mid and high revs. But everything else sucks, poor low end torque, hard gear shifts, uncomfortable and less padded seats - driving more than few hours is tiring, engine vibration especially during idling, hard suspension, too much vertical movement in highways, any speed above 80 feels scary, very light body, constant rattling in the doors and body and weak brakes along with less space inside. Mind you, I spent close to 5 lacs purchasing this car. My request to others, please avoid rubbish cars like these, save some money and buy a better car. There are a lot of good options in the market now, and just because others are buying doesn't mean it is good. And btw, mileage is just okay - 14-15 in city and 18-20 in highways. But that really doesn't matter much overall. Life is too short to drive boring, crappy cars.
No argument on this. Alto 800 is the best practical car ever on Indian markets with due respect to original maruti 800. I loved it. And yes Alto K10 is best upgrade to it.
Now this is a user review. 👍🏼 I own k10 as well and have done lucknow Delhi on expressway. At 100kmph economy drops a little but it's stable. Yeah it's really punchy with AC off.. With AC on pick up lags negligibly.
Better performance than alto 800 and more stable than wagon r on high speeds........only god knows why it was discontinued to make way for spresso.....!!

I own this car. Once I tried stretching beyond 100 in highway and I felt like its ready to take up now. After that I never dare to go beyond 80. Pro's:- Great mileage Easy to maneuver in city traffic Smooth engine Good pickup Low maintenance costs Easily available spare parts Cons:- Not very comfortable for 4 people. Built quality is like tin dabba. Very small size types and it hits bumps and pot holes easily and feels like car will be tore apart. Lot of vibration from body parts( especially in my car). Online don't go for it.. I felt like its waste of money after I owned it 😂

True its a crap in space and performance, body feels light in every way , my mom is having it . My height is same as yours, i stop travelling in it or driving it. My legs hurt a lot hitting dash. Now looking forward of ditching it and get something else

Sadly company discontinued this model because of flop sale of expresso. K10 is beast in hilly regions of himachal and ladakh region. I own this same.
I have Alto Lxi STD 2006 model and it's still going well and the odometer reading is 554000kms.

My k10 cng 2019 model did 63000 km in just 1 year. Daily office commute was 208 km... superb car

Commutes to office, being a student, within 2 years did 47k kms, loves Maruti Alto. Strange personality.
This car is good. I own the AMT version. However, Maruti service center guys are serious crooks. They fool you and charge excessively during the annual servicing
Yes true brother mine got scratch and we let the sevice center guys fixed and when we take the car it got dent and scratch in the left side 🤤
We still have our first car, our alto at home which we have driven for more than 2 lakh kilometres !!!!!!
Guess what, body rattle noises are evident, but the engine is in superb condition till date !
Have amt version of this car (my mom drives it) . Its crap car, a good one for beginners, but nowadays beginners buy better cars than this. When you sit in this car, you feel like you are sitting in floor. Performance is terrible, that too amt on this is like 😶.
Now i am not even able to fit in this car properly, my leg would hit the dash. Planning to get a new one.
Buy a safe car this time.

We own 2 other bigger cars and I don't need this car but I haven't been able to sell it yet. I have the exact same model and I have driven it for 50k. The sheer city performance and convenience is unparalleled.

only gears are not very smooth in fifth generation manual rest everthing is good but not a driver delight car as vento or xuv 300. but the car is good in comfort little soft suspension to improve ride quality which sometimes make ride bouncy on high speeds. But handling is not an issue but 1.5l ivtec petrol engine is class leading
Owner chose mileage over safety and when he said that he would buy Swift LDi .
Ultimately it's affordability and cost of maintenance that rules over safety.
I have the same exact car, just different colour and purchased in 2017. But if I could go back in time, I would have purchased Tiago.
The only good part about this car is the chuckability of the car in city traffic, and the engine at mid and high revs. But everything else sucks, poor low end torque, hard gear shifts, uncomfortable and less padded seats - driving more than few hours is tiring, engine vibration especially during idling, hard suspension, too much vertical movement in highways, any speed above 80 feels scary, very light body, constant rattling in the doors and body and weak brakes along with less space inside.
Mind you, I spent close to 5 lacs purchasing this car. My request to others, please avoid rubbish cars like these, save some money and buy a better car. There are a lot of good options in the market now, and just because others are buying doesn't mean it is good. And btw, mileage is just okay - 14-15 in city and 18-20 in highways. But that really doesn't matter much overall. Life is too short to drive boring, crappy cars.

No argument on this. Alto 800 is the best practical car ever on Indian markets with due respect to original maruti 800. I loved it. And yes Alto K10 is best upgrade to it.

K10 is very stable at 100km/h , stability drops at 120
Now this is a user review. 👍🏼 I own k10 as well and have done lucknow Delhi on expressway. At 100kmph economy drops a little but it's stable. Yeah it's really punchy with AC off.. With AC on pick up lags negligibly.

Jo 2013 wali K10 thi jo ki purani Alto jaise dikhti thi agar koi second hand lena chahe to le le wahi jyada sahi decision rhega
I own this car. Once I tried stretching beyond 100 in highway and I felt like its ready to take up now. After that I never dare to go beyond 80.

Great mileage
Easy to maneuver in city traffic
Smooth engine
Good pickup
Low maintenance costs
Easily available spare parts
Cons:-
Not very comfortable for 4 people.
Built quality is like tin dabba.
Very small size types and it hits bumps and pot holes easily and feels like car will be tore apart.
Lot of vibration from body parts( especially in my car).
Online don't go for it.. I felt like its waste of money after I owned it 😂

True its a crap in space and performance, body feels light in every way , my mom is having it . My height is same as yours, i stop travelling in it or driving it. My legs hurt a lot hitting dash. Now looking forward of ditching it and get something else
