I saw this movie for the first time 41 years ago and to this day it still fills my heart with joy and it makes my heart ache, there isn't anything like this today! It is my favourite movie of all time!!
Kelly Rose CBM I just started the sound of music challenge on my channel. check it out and participate if you are confident enough. try to be as spot on as possible. share with your friends! I sung the end of thing song!
Kelly Rose CBM you are so lucky you were born in a closer time of when the movie was posted and I'm just to young to be born in a closer time of the movie being out ):
I saw it in 1965 with my mother. She loved it. I was a little too young to understand the plot. Lots of happy music, grouchy dad turns nice, the girl a year or two younger than me seeing a spider on a flag adults around me laughed nervously when she mentioned, and not knowing she was talking about the swastika, I thought I missed some cool flag with a creepy spider. It was just another movie. "Hard Days Night" seemed better. As I aged I grew more of a love toward it.
I used to laugh at movies like this until I had children; watched it with them and the moral strength and romantic purity simply blew me away. A classic for the ages. Pure class.

Not exactly because there is so much more 2 reading a score than that I know because I’ve been with the Boston Children’s Chorus since fifth grade and u also have 2 know flats sharps naturals clefs and note letters sometimes reading and knowing music can give u a headache sometimes but u have 2 do it if u want 2 be part of the industry
Great film. I show this classic to my students every Autumn here in Tokyo. The girls adore it and sing all the songs so beautifully, acting out their favorite scenes. When I was a kid in school, they used to show this one a lot. The way schools have changed in America, I wonder if it's even mentioned anymore. Rest in Peace Charmian Carr, who played Liesl. She passed away the other day at the age of 73. If I'm not mistaken, she is the first to leave the 'Von Trapp family singers'. All the other children in the film along with Christopher Plummer and Julie Andrews are still alive and well, I believe.
I live in america and my elementry music teacher showed this to us.. He shows a lot of musical classy things even the ones back in the day. That is why I am here bow cause I found the song really catchy
This movie was introduced to me by my former Junior High school Music teacher as a part of our lesson , and I loved it ever since and has not stopped watching it. In fact, I have it in my laptop and I couldn't bear to delete it anytime soon. Thanks, Mrs. Fidel.
mrsjp1000 It's sad how not a lot parents introduce their kids to this good stuff nowadays. Not a lot of kids are very fortunate. I was introduced to this when I was 10. I'm 16 now, going on 17 (no pun intended), and I still love this.
singing4hope I just started the sound of music challenge on my channel. check it out and participate if you are confident enough. try to be as spot on as possible. share with your friends! I sung the end of thing song!
Why don't you teach beginners how to sing instead of some arbitrary names for notes? (Which are not used in Austria at all.) This song is a good summary of why the movie is not known in Austria. It talks about musical Austria but pretends that this Austrian music is an American tune, about note names not known in Austria, with English language mnemonics and a learning-averse musical pedagogy (that note names are what is important to learn singing) that is strongly associated with countries that do *not* have a tradition of singing, but a tradition of making children hate singing.
esmeyny I did not know that's the reason why it's not popular in Austria. The reason I asked was because I learned music through singing along with musical movies like The Sound of Music.
I suddenly remembered this song and after so many decades, I still remember the whole lyrics. Like I wasn't expecting that I'll remember it all so perfectly.
I love this movie and I absolutely can't tell you which song is exactly my favorite. I love them so much equally. But I do have to admit The nun singing climb every mountain might be my very favorite.❤
I wish that these dresses will be back in these generations....i really love the 90s generations because of what they are wearing...In these generation if you do not wear pants or shorts they will say that you are not matured enough..... Im just saying these because I love dresses especially the 90s dresses
U are lucky to have my brother in world. if I had me will even if love you respectfully my brother so beautiful I see me too me brother sister and me Al we all part one team ❤️🤗🤣🌟🙏☀️
Poe,a pilot a resistance pilot Rey,a drop of golden sun Finn,a name he calls himself Han,was killed by his own son Snoke,a leader hunting Luke Luke,is hiding out from Snoke Leia, just wants her family back And that brings us back to Poe, oh, oh, oh
Watching this made me wanna cry, I really grew up watching this movie. When I was bored I would sing these songs with my younger sister. This is my childhood 😢😢😢😢

I just did a movie marathon of this yesterday, not gonna lie I sang the whole movie and every line that they said in the movie. Gosh it's been a year since I last watch it 🤣. But it is still a childhood classic of mine. I will treasure this masterpiece in my heart.
Of course, it was not the last golden days of the 1930's in rump Austria as the movie claims at the beginning: the 1930's were a very hard time in Austria: high unemployment; economic stagnation; and political turmoil were a few of the problems facing the new republic.
Brian Cleary did u now the person who wrote the book hated the movie and made the rule no red in the film and other ridiculous rules like that to stop it being made
I remember the first time I watched this My mother downloaded it on her computer and used a projector to show it on a blank space in our house so my sister and I could watch it comfortably That was quite a while ago and I have a terribly memory so I don't remember much But, this song has stayed with me since. I would practice everyday to match with the children and pretend I was there with them To this day I still remember everything from this song From the bike ride and the carriage ride to running in the garden This is a beaty that everyone should witness!!

Julie Andrew has the voice of a Angel
YESSS
Loved her in Mary Poppins
А ещё,она великолепно пела за Одри Хепберн в фильме " Моя прекрасная леди" !

Do know how IAM🤗🤗🤗❤️🤗
People should make movies like this again
Marcie Chords 9
They would ruin it
Well, there is The Greatest Show on Earth or whatever it's called that may still be playing at your local theatre OR on Netflix (and similar).
Marcie Chords easier said than done.
LilZebra I’m not really a fan of that though....(seen it btw)

It makes me cry. Movies can't be so upbeat and alive as this anymore. Life can't either it feels.
Omg me too I should cry or laugh 😂
I went to Salzburg because of this and tried to go to all the locations. Salzburg is a beautiful city.
Did you see the locations? Must have been surreal!
@@shivadizayin it was a great time
Was on my personal bucket list when visited Vienna, but since that was the case, we didn't go.
Shame she can't sing like this anymore. Julie Andrews had such a beautiful voice.
I’ve lived with that harsh truth for years
It's a timeless musical classic film ever to me. I still love it very much.
The magical Julie Andrews, at that time, touched by the hand of the Divine.

I loved the sound of music tour at Salzburg, reminiscing the scenes of the movie, breathed in at the same places , timeless beauty!

Joyful movie. They don't make movies like this anymore.
I love that kind of movie! But it’s tough to find one where you can’t help it and put a slight flaw aside
I suddenly remembered this song and after so many decades, I still remember the whole lyrics. Like I wasn't expecting that I'll remember it all so perfectly.

No se ustedes pero yo sigo amando esta película 😊❤ alguien en 2024
I had this stuck in my head for exactly one year. this was my audition song for a sound of music play
Hollywood can do mindboggling things on the screen today, but the talent is not as good as it was back then.
Poe,a pilot a resistance pilot
Rey,a drop of golden sun
Finn,a name he calls himself
Han,was killed by his own son
Snoke,a leader hunting Luke
Luke,is hiding out from Snoke
Leia,just wants her family back
And that brings us back to Poe, oh, oh, oh
Brilliance.
hahaha.
chapeau.

I JUST LOVE CLASSICS!!!!!
What a childhood we had with this amazing film .I srill remember all the lyrics of the songs.

Niffler didn't know that!
Niffler The Sound of Music and Im Weisem Rössl contribute to our idea of Rump Austria as a jolly, musical alpine playground.
Of course, I mean Im weißen Rössl.
I remember the first time I watched this
My mother downloaded it on her computer and used a projector to show it on a blank space in our house so my sister and I could watch it comfortably
That was quite a while ago and I have a terribly memory so I don't remember much
But, this song has stayed with me since.

R.I.P. Charmian Carr (Liesl)
