Something I wanna point out about the changes in Damon, Stefan said himself when he was recovering from being a ripper it took him 50 years to pull himself together. Damon isnt a ripper but its like people are expecting him to do a complete change over night. And its no secret that Damon is unstable and impulsive and when pushed to far he will snap. He has been trying to do good but change takes time.

Damon snaps his friends /family necks and Klaus just plunges them into comas basically , whenever they are told to do or not do things they don’t like hearing . It’s an Interesting parallel I think 😂
Alaric wasn't just saying take a beat just because Damon can be bad, but maybe because Elena and his BROTHER just broke up
@@samnabawy2731 Im sorry but no it has nothing to do with Stefan and Elena breaking up he couldnt careless about that. Elena decides who she let's into her life not Alaric. Elena is an adult and Alaric can give her advice but he shouldn't be going behind her back telling people she wants in her life to back off. Elena and Damon are friends Elena wants Damon around she goes to him. Also Damon has done nothing wrong all he has done is help her and Damon was friends with Elena before they even met Alaric. Idk its weird for him to do that imo especially after you see who he's with in season 7-8.
Edit: Hope this isn't taken in an argumentative way. I just like interacting and talking to people who watch the show it was just meant to be a fun discussion nothing serious. Even if we disagree I don't like when discussions turn into an argument.
@@Strife93 Please add SPOILERS before talking about future seasons. I disagree with you. Alaric has every right to go to his friend and say, please leave that teenage girl alone for a bit because she was JUST with your brother and is going through a rough time and all that flirting is not going to help anyone. Elena can decide what she wants but there are still issues for OTHER people to consider. Damon should really NOT be going after his brother's girlfriend or exgirlfriend, that's just gross. Elena is young and impressionable, and Damon is pushy and persistent. As a parent figure, Alaric has every right to voice his opinion. He told Damon he THINKs he needs to take a beat, not that he had to. I respect your opinion, and before someone accuses me of hating Damon, I don't. I just don't like Delena, the concept is too messy and wrong in my opinion.

I don't understand why everyone decided to jump on Damon this episode. He's been doing great and it's been 4 months or more of him helping and all of a sudden Alaric gets on him. After Bill threatens him he isn't going to take that and Stefan wouldn't have either Stefan has checked multiple humans for threatening him and Damon. Then Elena jumps on him like he needs someone to check him. That would piss anyone off but especially Damon they just forgot they had brains for an episode. Also Damon wasn't even going to kill Bill he was going to put the a-hole in his place. It's wild how the writers flip character's growth to get them somewhere. The writers needed Damon out of town next episode and they chose that. I'm not saying character's can't regress but this isnt Damon regressing it's Elena and Alaric acting out of character out of nowhere they've been getting along with Damon better than ever. Also Stefan has never been there to keep Damon in check. Stefan has never pretended to keep Damon in check so Elena's comment is based on nothing. Damon has always been Damon he's never put up a front or pretended he was something he wasn't to them. If anything it's Stefan that needs someone there to check him when he's losing control not Damon.
I agree with Damon going after Bill. I think he should have just ended him. You don't torture your daughter because you're a bigot. No no no. However, I do think Alaric has every right to voice his concern about Damon trying to get closer to Elena, in more than a friend kind of way. I also agree with you, there is no reason to keep Damon in check, he has not shown any signs of lashing out so far this season.
@@samnabawy2731 I think the key words in this situation are: "...this season"... Yeah, he has been (his version) of "well behaved" for the couple of months of real time that the beginning of this season is supposed to cover... well, if you don't look at what he is been doing to Andie... But their worries about him are well founded; he does have a tendency to snap and even at his most "centered" self he is quite violent... Like a comment mentioned bellow, I don't really know why there are so many people who think that it was too much to ask from Elena for Damon to be less violent... I've seen many comments about how awful Elena is for "trying to change Damon", when: 1st) She isn't trying to change him into Stefan really, she is quite simply asking the bare minimum of him (don't kill a person that is the father of a loved one, specially since that loved one doesn't want that person dead)... and 2nd) HE NEEDS TO CHANGE!... These are tendencies that he 100% needs to change and work on... He doesn't have to change into Stefan, but he does have many behaviors that he needs to change and tone down... And I think all of us here in the comments have seen the show, so, if anybody is going to argue that AT THIS POINT IN THE SHOW Damon has already changed and grown out of those behaviors, then I would say that that person isn't remembering the show correctly... because, without going into spoilers, we all know that Damon continues to do "this type of stuff"... How is it asking too much for him to listen to the people around him? To not kill his supposed best friend?... I 100% understand why Damon MIGHT FEEL LIKE Elena is trying to change him into Stefan, BUT just because that's what he feels in his insecurity THAT DOESN'T make him right about it... She just wants him to change some of those things that he needs to change in order to be a functional being around their circle, and yes, those might be some character traits that usually Stefan has, but they aren't unique to him and Damon CAN/SHOULD get to that point

@@Alewaxon just go away your such an annoying person everytime someone has a good thing to say about Damon you show up hating. I've never seen someone hate a character as much as you do Damon. And no if a person is changing and they've been on the right track and you want them to succeed you absolutely do not throw their past up in their face otherwise there's no point in anyone changing. All the stuff I said about Damon is valid because still he wasn't even doing anything wrong until they jumped on him he wasn't going to kill Bill there was no threat of anyone dying. We get it you hate Damon but most people love him and Stefan even though Damon is my favorite character and Stefan does stuff that annoys me I still love Stefan because I love the show and its about them. Everyone seen what she was doing trying to turn him into Stefan they all called it out before he even did. And the key word isn't this season Damon has done more good then bad since the end of his villain arc in like S1 E10 overall he has issues just like Stefan that he can fall back into but he's been great and Alaric told him to take a beat so he does and Elena breaks down crying to Damon asking where he was next episode because Elena wants Damon at arms reach at all times because he makes her feel safe. Damon then promises to never leave her again and she smiles and this makes her so happy and cheers her up until Stefan walks in. So Alaric shouldn't have went behind her back to say that especially sence she's an adult and decides who to let into her life.
This is like the tenth time you've replied to one of my comments about Damon just to hate. People are here to have fun talking about their favorite characters we don't need people like you coming along to rain on the parade of people's fun. We've seen the show my comment was about this episode but you never fell to bring up everything Damon's ever done no matter what. Let people love Damon without having to defend their stance plz. If you see a comment hating on Damon and you want to join them talking about Damon fine or make your own comment with whatever you want but stop replying to people having fun loving a character and turning that comment thread into an argument of defending the characters they love. I don't like Caroline but I never go to people who love her and point out all the things that I think make her a terrible friend or super annoying I let those people have fun praising her character.
@@Strife93 I'm sorry that that other person seemed to have really offended you, however, this is a comment section. This comment section is for fans to discuss the show and the characters. All opinions are open for discussion and that person has every right to respond to you as many times as they want. I don't understand why many Damon fans like to tell people to stop sharing their opinion or that their opinion is not valid just because "most people love Damon." I like Damon too, but I think it is important to have nuanced discussion about characters. Engagement actually helps these videos, so no need to be aggressive with people who have different opinions.

The necklace was supposed to be the one thing Stefan hoped would keep Damon and Elena apart,but it became the one thing that brought them together…Delena❤️
Umm.. didnt stefan give her that necklace so damon or any other vampire for that matter wouldnt attempt to compel her against her will? How was that one object suppose to keep them apart that doesn't make sense. And didnt damon try to compel her to kiss him, in one of the earlier eps of season 1 but then she slapped him about playing games? And then he confronted Stefan about why it didn't work on her.
All that did happen but in 3x1 when he gave it back to her was when she falls in love with him. Klaus and Rebekah coming for it forces Damon to go all out to protect Elena. It really brought them together. It also showed her that Damon put aside his feelings to give her a token of Stefans love for her birthday. So unselfish. It then became a token of Damon's love for both of them. He was willing to fight for their relationship, despite his own feelings. Awwwww😢😮😊
@@Stella1215-l2h For real lol it wasn't to keep them APART, it was to keep Damon from compelling her. The mental gymnastics of some fans is baffling.

Actually Damon gave the necklace to Elena several times (Stefan gave it to her once)…the necklace was the reason Elena fell in love with Damon…
Stefan thought the only way Damon could get Elena was if he compelled her (reason Stefan gave her the necklace)lol that really backfired,it brought them together…
This is really where Damon's insecurities and immaturity show. To say that Elena should stop trying to "turn him in to Stefan" when all she's asking is to ... *checks notes* ... not kill her father figure and her best friend's dad all bc of his own anger and impatience, is so ridiculous to me. One, because it implies that Stefan is the only one capable of doing good and incapable of bad and two, because he wants so desperately to make vampirism, and by extension, himself an inherently bad reality when you have vampires like Caroline who rarely missteps AND Damon has done good things among the sea of bad. He tries so hard to take the bad guy role to escape his feelings and lashes out and will always use the "I'm a vampire" excuse when he's capable of being so much more than that. It's a (im)perfect way to avoid accountability for his actions. Then people wonder why characters like Bonnie and Caroline dislike him.
It's like him and Stefan are 2 sides of the same coin: they both allow their vampire nature to control them, just in different ways. It's frustrating, but makes for good tv and character growth down the line lol
Damon should have ended Bill Forbes like he did Coach Tanner, I was all for it.

Caroline has been spending to much time with Stefan,she thinks she is All Knowing and have done no wrong,they have the right to judge everyone..
This is all Elena's fault, always trying to change Damon to be more like Stephan instead of loving him for who he is. Everyone always jumps on Damen
