Thanks for watching!
love the colour palette of your crochet top. it feels like a faded vintage photo of summer to me.
This is such a great description!
I love the blue color tip … and love it with denim or anything
First of all, I love that Collette tee so much that I immediately bought the pattern. I am surprised I have never seen it before since it is not a newly released pattern. Looking forward to knitting it. Thanks for sharing your makes and purchases. Yes, I would also watch your traveling video.
Crochet top is so cute!
Your Colette tee is beautiful!! Love that color too
Thank you! I LOVE this color.
I would love a video on traveling with your knitting.
I don't think you HAVE to block socks, but I really do love the way they look after they've been blocked.
I would love to hear your travel tips for taking your knitting along!
Just found you, and I'm also a knitter who travels frequently, but for me it's usually road trips. I think I've only flown with knitting once, and that was a long time ago. It would be interesting to see what's different between your experiences and mine.
Also matching a denim kind of color with denim, it's totally a vibe, so I think the denim color yarn with jeans is super cute. I'd totally go for it. Add a pop of color to accessorize and that'll break up the blue.
And finally, for the socks, I don't block them unless they're gifts. Just wearing them helps them settle into the shape I want (blocked to my feet, essentially), so I don't bother. Sock blockers don't tend to reflect my foot shape, and I'm super picky. I can't even wear knit socks directly against my skin because it hurts, so I have to wear them over tights, which is fine. But it makes me weird about what's on my feet. In fairness, I just kinda hate blocking, so if I can leave it unblocked or somehow block it on my body, I call that a win.
But... if I were to give them as a gift, I would totally block them because it makes a much better presentation.
Hej Emily, it's nice to see you again :) The colors for your striped DK pullover are looking so saturated and beautiful. Maybe you could use the Studio Sweater by Ysolda. It's a plane DK round yoke sweater, surely it will look good with stripes :) Have a lovely weekend, Lina
I made the Cozy Classic Raglan in a striped (more of a color blocked) pattern and it turned out SO cute.
Great thought! I had this pattern in the back of my mind!!
Hi Emily - I just started watching your videos and I really enjoy them! I would love to see a travel knitting video - with summer travel starting up I think it would be super helpful! Any insight you have especially on international travel with knitting would be great!
I would definitely watch a travel knitting video! I’m traveling tomorrow and I have ALL the questions and the anxiety that comes along with them. Lol!
Yes to the travel knitting video!
I’d would definitely appreciate a video about traveling with knitting. Thank you!
Your new sweater would look great at a Baltimore Orioles game! lol Go O’s ⚾️ 💕🧶
The Orioles are so good this season!! Would love to go to Baltimore and see an Os game someday 😊
Travel video - yes!
I am late to the chaotic knits party, but I am thinking that if your friend Maya doesn’t already have a RUclips channel it should be called “my friend, Maya” 😂 or have a knit along called “my friend, Maya” ❤❤❤
Hahaha she's made the joke that she needs a t-shirt that says "her friend Maya" 😅❤️
Some pattern suggestions for the stripey raglan:
- the Gartrell Crew by Tanis Lavallee (haven't made this myself but it's fairly popular. I met Tanis at a fiber fest and she's super lovely & knowledgeable!)
- the Aros Sweater by PetiteKnit if you're a fan of her patterns
- Thun by The Blue Mouse (a new to me designer but the placement of the stripes in this pattern reminded me of your inspo pic)
- the Movement Tee by LilyKateMakes (this is a DK weight tee version of a worsted sweater pattern she published earlier; you could just lengthen the sleeves on the tee. From personal experience, Lily's patterns are always incredibly clear & well-tested.)
I look forward to seeing what you come up with! I love the colours you chose and I think it'll come out great 😊
This is super helpful - thank you!! I'll take a look at these patterns!
❤❤😮❤❤
Never block socks - other than letting my feet block them😊
I personally can’t stand how unblocked socks feel on my feet. I feel like I can feel every individual stitch.
Hiii!! How much yarn did you have left for the Colette Tee? I was able to buy the very last 3 skeins of the Herba, but I'd have to knit a size larger than yours... so I'm trying to see if I can make it work. LOVE your top!!
Yayy we're gonna match!! I had maybe two thirds of a skein left? And I also had my swatch! So I think you'll be okay unless you want to make it a lot longer than I made mine! But reminder that I made a size up than recommended for me because my gauge was off with this yarn. Can wait to see it!
@@emweecurt Eeeee! Thank you so so much!! I'm so excited to knit this!!
