  • Welcome to The Short, the biweekly recap of IBM’s latest innovations and research. This week we introduce the LLM IBM is working on with the Spanish government, we celebrate the unveiling of the first quantum computer on a college campus at RPI, and we explore how IBM Quantum is reducing the cost of error correction.

I really am curious about IBM's thoughts on AI taking away Software Engineering jobs. I also would like to know why IBM thinks we will need more people in Quantum if we won't need Software Engineers? If we will need all this workforce in Quantum like they are saying, why not train the Software Engineers as they are 1.) Smart enough to grasp the concepts and 2.) Will be in need of work 3.) Most have good math and tech skills to begin with and it seems like a no brainier to transition these people.
