  • 'Walking in the Air' originally aired as a song in the 1982 animated film version of Raymond Briggs' children's book 'The Snowman' (1978). The story is based on the brief friendship of a boy and his snowman who take flight to the North Pole, where they meet Father Christmas.
An instant hit, the film is now a regular Christmas favourite for UK audiences, with this song (by Howard Blake) as its centrepiece. Here it is performed by the Cantamus Training Choir at the beautiful Southwell Minster in Nottinghamshire, UK.
