This is the easiest bodice tutorial I have seen so far. Thank you for sharing your skill and knowledge with us. I understand it perfectly now👍🏽💃🏽👏🏾🙏🏽😁 I will be drafting one.
I agree with you on this. Very detailed, especially for me a beginner, very clear and easy .God Bless you. I like your voice to, really calm, where's your location Ma'am? Are u in Abuja?
Thank you for a straight-forward explanation! I'm especially happy that you drew the front and back armholes differently. So many patterns now have them exactly the same, which doesn't give a good fit. I also watched your video on how to draft the sleeve itself. Very helpful! One question: What differences would you suggest if I were to use knit fabric instead of woven?
For the dart is it standard to use 4 inch or it depends on individuals measurements? Also I didn’t quite get the minus 8 divide by 2 formula. It starts at 5:45. I really really appreciate your videos. Thank you so much
Hi when you are curving the armhole just ensure that it is blended on the chest line. Then afterwards you can put 1/4 of your bust measurement on the chest line
Hello thank you for taking the time to share, however can you clarify why you are leaving 1 inch seam allowance plus 1 inch to sew? I am watching this along with the Princess Dart video. Isn't seam allowance what is used for sewing?
Am trying to understand which part of the video you are referring. Yes I usually use 1 inch seam allowance and then I inch dart allowance. Hope I answered the question. If not just send me the exact time on the video
Thank you for responding so quickly...it's in your drafting Princess Dart video time 8:55 - 10:21. I figured out a way I will measure each piece to ensure that I end up with my final measurements. Will definitely let you know how it turned out. Blessed day to you.😊
What do you do if the person is small chested and their bust measurement, even with the ease and seam allowance added, doesn't go past the armhole you've created? It cuts into it. Would I re-blend the armhole to go to the bust measurement (plus the half inch) on the chest line? It doesn't go much farther than the shoulder line, not even half an inch. Or blend the bust measurement out to the end of the armhole?
May I ask ask are you making the bodice for a child. Because that is a different technique altogether. If not. Use a curve to best blend the measurement on the chest line.
It's a teenager. 16 year old. And I found another tutorialthat I used in conjunction with yours to help me figure out where to end the armhole and it worked pretty well. (Except that I realized I need to make a very sloping shoulder adjustment. I think it'll be ok after that.)
Melissa, I have a question. I work in cm. Your shoulder measurement 15 inches, means from sholder to shoulder? Thank you for answering. It's very important for me
Hi I make my first bodice pattern. It is fitting perfectly but armhole and neck is tight. Front armhole curve 9.5 and back. 8.5. neck is the same measurement as video
Great job! Am super proud of you🤗 the neck depth and width totally depends on what you want. I suggest you go down and widen it next time. May I ask what your bust measurement is?
Ok did you use 40/6 + 1.5. That will give you 8.25 for the chest line. If you find that that will be too tight just add an extra 1/4 inch next time and that would be ok. Another ways to do it is to check you armhole measurement and check to see if it correlates to what you have on your pattern. Remember to always try your basic bodice on a Muslim fabric first so that you could make the necessary adjustments before you cut on your pretty fabric. Best TaylorMade
hello formula 1 / 6bust + 1.5 to calculate armholemy bust is 40 inch 1 / 6bust = 6.6666 ... 1 / 6bust + 1.5 = 8.16666... how to round the calculation ditto for 3.33

Yes I used 1 inch.

For armhole curve how to know where you are stopping on the chestline( 5:05 on video)

Do you have to put in darts? Great video
No you could bypass that step
How did you get 8 inch on the bust line and the 8.05 point is also the same dot.
