@@michaelandmatt well your child or children in the future will be very lucky to have ye as parents. Your child or children will be showered in love from both of you.
My sister and her husband found out that they can’t have children (she has all kinds of medical issues) and I had offered to be a surrogate for them until I had my own medical issues which prevented me from having any more kids (apparently throwing bloods clots makes a doctor advise you not to have more 🤷♀️). Congratulations! Personally, as a gay man with a biological son who is 23 (I used to be married to a woman but now am in a happy committed same sex relationship for 11 years) I do not want to go through that again (and thankfully he feels the same way even though he is gold star and has no children of his own). But from experience it is wonderful but you have no idea the responsibility until you actually have to experience it. I only wish the best of luck to you. You will need it!
Best wishes! Do you follow Stuart & Francis? They have an infant through surrogacy and just signed with their egg donor for a second. They have shared their journey across social. Another lovely couple like you who has been through the experience and knows what it’s like to be sharing it on social.
Congrats! As a gay man myself, my partner and I have thought about surrogacy as well. What are some considerations you guys are working through with regards to whose DNA you guys are going to use. Also could you go into more detail as to why you chose the route you did? I know you briefly mentioned adopting and etc.
Thanks for sharing this! Very interesting and all the best for your journey ahead. I was wondering if you could give any insight into how you choose which one of you is the donor for the surrogate? One big thing I've often wondered is whether the guy who isn't the donor would ever get jealous the baby isn't his biological son even though he's the father?
It's gotten a lot more expensive. When my friends in Spain did this about 12 years ago, and they had to do it in the US, because it it's not legal in Europe, they paid about half or less of what you are talking about here, and that includes various trips to Colorado to get it done. OTOH, they've had all these legal barriers due to homophobic bureaucrats in Spain and in Spanish consulates.
Wowwww!!! Mind boggling! It is insane how inflated the costs have become. This is true. I hope we see a change there soon!! And that’s very admirable of your friends to be able to go through that process despite the legal difficulties in Spain!
As a gay person I prefer to do adoption but I do agree because I find health insurance companies should cover some of the cost for LGBT couples can have families
I’m also gay and married. While we don’t plan on having kids for years (not until I’m in my early 30s), I was thinking of doing the whole process in Mexico. Im Mexican American and I know that it would SO MUCH CHEAPER to do it in Mexico than to do it here. Maybe it can be an option for y’all as well! Anyways, cheers! Good luck :)
That’s amazing!!! I’ve heard of the option of doing surrogacy abroad - it’s honestly an area we don’t have enough information about and would need to research more heavily. Perhaps a good topic for a future video!!
Ohh my god this is the best news I’m in sunny Florida right now I should be training but I’ve taken some time away because my anxiety is back it’s sucks it’s the worst i absolutely hate it I’m hopping to get some help again tomorrow it sucks I should be on the desend but apparently I’m not ready yet sucks so over it damn pandemic sucks so over it but you guys are such a great couple to watch. Congrats guys! Y’all are gonna be awesome dads! I can’t wait until I find a boyfriend that’s gonna help me with my cerebral palsy and start a family! I love when guys hock loogies lol! I love y’all much
Congrats on the decision. Not sure if planned parenthood can provide any assistance. Also, since both of you are health care professionals, you both pull in a decent income, probably around $250 to $300k annually (I work on the financial side of healthcare myself) and one item you did not bring up due to the large amount of money involved is a tax deduction for whichever direction you go in as you are both "Legally" married and you both probably pay a lot of income tax. Just a thought.
The tax deduction is something I haven’t even considered 😳 …there’s an area I may need to do a deep dive to research more about. Thanks for bringing it up!!! Michael did just drop to part time (2 days a week) and I haven’t started working as a nurse yet (planning on starting in 2 months). So income isn’t quite there, but we do run a business on the side for supplemental income, and still feel incredibly fortunate to have this as an option!!
Congratulations and very happy for the new Daddies to be. Hope everything goes smoothly and your baby is healthy. Keeping you in prayers. First time visiting your page.
I don't know how the rules are in the us, but could you buy some eggs from a donor and then have a friend or a family member carry it? If it is allowed I would think that would be a less expensive option 🥰
Definitely something that can be arranged! It is difficult to find someone willing, especially to commit to carrying at a low fee. Then again, even so it can be looked at differently by insurance, and the things that occur within the hospital are what really add up!!
Hopefully you're not going to name the child "Hamburger". 😂 Seriously though, I wish you both the best as you go on this journey. One thing I know for sure is this is going to be a very lucky kid who will be cradled in love.
Well there goes “King”, “Mack” and “Donald”. Maybe he’ll be one of “Five Brothers” or a sister with that many male siblings. I think you should keep “Whopper” for your bedroom, if it applies or maybe “Junior”!!
I hope god bless you kids and that they will live for a long time and lm sure that you're child why be as handsome as the both of you . God bless you both
i really hope nobody attacks me for sharing my perspective, as everyone in the comments is also sharing their perspective. i just think that especially now, in 2022 when the world is already so overpopulated i would sooner wait for a child i can adopt than go the surrogate route. i’m gay, and my husband and i have both been considering getting children, but neither one of us can imagine spending an exorbitant amount of money on a pregnancy that could potentially fail. we also don’t feel comfortable telling a woman we want to basically rent her uterus for 9 months (we are looking into becoming parents and some of the surrogates we’ve met along the way have described it as such. there are just millions of babies who need homes. our best friends have adopted three of the cutest chunky babies in the world, and they’re okay with none of them sharing their biology. again, this isn’t an attack. we’re also a gay couple. we’re in our mid-30s and have been talking about this process for the better part of a decade. but i’m just sharing my opinions and experience.
I think that is totally fair!! And thank you for sharing your perspective! Surrogacy, adoption, and foster-to-adopt all are long and difficult journeys for LGBTQ+ parents. That’s the reality, and we really hope that all options become more affordable/accessible/equitable for all. Each family has to make the decision of which path is right to pursue for them and their future family. we do of course want to adopt/foster-to-adopt in the future, we just know that for our family we have to do what is the best option for us here and now.
Well guys, I'm excited for you wanting a biological baby, however, no more vacations for a few years (or more). I understand the average cost for a child is $200,000. and you will be giving up your sleep for a long time. And after the baby gets here you can't take them back if you change your mind. lol. There are several really great guy couples on YT that take us thru the whole process and It was well worth it to them. Your kid or kids would be adorable !!! and I mean adorable...! good luck guys.
Better get the travel in while we can! It’s going to be quite the adventure. Excited to go through this process and see our lives change before our eyes. Thank you!!!
Michael & Matt Big hug to both of you for the love and respect you have for each other. I was smiling all along the video, feeling happy for both of you and how lucky your child is going to be having you two for parents. India is a very different scenario for Queers. We just got the Consensual sex between two adults of same sex, in our private spaces, decriminalised in 2018. That is just legal; the society is still at nascent stage. Law to marry, to co-own a property, then adoption or surrogacy - these are still long distant dreams. But hopeful ones. I got to know about the insurance thing through this video only. I had never ever thought about it. But I hope the governments get representatives from the community or allys of the community, and every needed change in law come in quickly. Nevertheless, I am so so happy for you two. You make me never lose hope. ❤️😇
Thank you so much for some insight on what is going on in India. Certainly, we hope that things continue to change-and quickly! ❤️ we hope that exposure and talking about these issues in a public space like this will continue to drive conversation, debate, and illicit change for the positive. We need to talk about these things more in order to influence the fight for equality!
Starting a family the correct way and you will not have problem/ man and woman in a marriage and have sex result in a child of both parents/ the design of god and mature/ men cannot play the role of a woman to start a family/ that is the problem of same sex marriage when they want to have a family so they have to resort to unnatural means / still the child would not be a result of the both in a homosexual marriage as with a heterosexual one. It is not the design of mature. That is one of the reasons that homosexual marriage is against mature / the penis is design to be inserted into the virgina not into the anus . Guys you get it all wrong and try to make it right/ do the correct thing and all will be ok / you start wrong so it be problematic
The costs are daunting!! It’s a lot. We feel a tinge of discouragement looking at the costs ahead - it’s something we really hope becomes more accessible and equitable to LGBTQ+ couples.
It's incredible how you've turned surrogacy into a victimhood issue for yourselves. If you just adopted really needy kids, no-one would be critical. But, the surrogacy issue has so many issues around the treatment & motivations of the women surrogates, how much rich men are exploiting these poor women, the usual negation of these women from the kid's lives, the problem of how to deal with kid's knowing their genetic history & probably a load of other issues. It's telling how precious little you discussed the physical & psychological impact of surrogacy on the woman, &, how much you went on & on about being treated just like a 'cis' couple. Next time try to fake some concern for the poor women at ths center of this whole issue.
Hi there i am an avid subscriber. I and my husband are about to initiate our surrogacy journey by the end of the year right now we are just researching. I know you guys have the process in Dallas.. do they allow 1 gestational carrier for 2 embryos? Thankssss!
We never said that the child wouldn’t know it’s biological mother. On the contrary, we know many gay families that have the biological mother involved in family-life.
Your kids will be very blessed to have you for parents!!

Me: yeah… I’ll stick with dogs and cats thanks ☺️
I feel this 😂😂😂 my anxiety here
As a gay person I prefer to do adoption but I do agree because I find health insurance companies should cover some of the cost for LGBT couples can have families
Your videos give me healing and strength and I just absolutely love you guys so incredible much.
I'm excited for you
We couldn’t be happier! Thank you Brian!
That's so exciting for you guys! You are going to make amazing parents
Thank you!! I hope so. We have a lot to learn!

Have you checked out gays with kids I am sure they have a lot of info for you! Good luck you two❤️❤️
We have!!! We’re hoping to do one of their educational programs!
@@michaelandmatt they have helped many gay couples with guidance and finances. Good luck!

Congratulations and very happy for the new Daddies to be. Hope everything goes smoothly and your baby is healthy. Keeping you in prayers. First time visiting your page.

The real important question is: Who is going to be called Daddy and who is going to be called Papa?
That’s going to be a fun discussion 😂😂😂
We’ll have to cross that name off our list then 😂
Well there goes “King”, “Mack” and “Donald”. Maybe he’ll be one of “Five Brothers” or a sister with that many male siblings. I think you should keep “Whopper” for your bedroom, if it applies or maybe “Junior”!!
God bless you❤
I hope god bless you kids and that they will live for a long time and lm sure that you're child why be as handsome as the both of you . God bless you both
Good luck to you guys! 💜
Thank you Eric!! It’s going to be incredible
Awesome, congratulations!! So proud guys
Thank you Gopi!! We can’t wait!

i really hope nobody attacks me for sharing my perspective, as everyone in the comments is also sharing their perspective. i just think that especially now, in 2022 when the world is already so overpopulated i would sooner wait for a child i can adopt than go the surrogate route. i’m gay, and my husband and i have both been considering getting children, but neither one of us can imagine spending an exorbitant amount of money on a pregnancy that could potentially fail. we also don’t feel comfortable telling a woman we want to basically rent her uterus for 9 months (we are looking into becoming parents and some of the surrogates we’ve met along the way have described it as such. there are just millions of babies who need homes. our best friends have adopted three of the cutest chunky babies in the world, and they’re okay with none of them sharing their biology.
again, this isn’t an attack. we’re also a gay couple. we’re in our mid-30s and have been talking about this process for the better part of a decade. but i’m just sharing my opinions and experience.
It's so expensive and overwhelming 😫 Congrats and excited to learn more
Hahahaha my feelings exactly!! But such is life, we are so excited!
Aww congratulations 🥳💝🎉🎊🎈
Thank you!!! ❤️
Michael and Matt you guys will make excellent fathers!!!!
Thank you for this 😭❤️ lots to learn… this is just the beginning!
@@michaelandmatt You're welcome ❤️✨
correction: one of you and a random woman, who won't get to raise her child, are having a baby
Correction: a woman who doesn't want to raise her child, is willingly giving it up to the men who are having that baby.
Congratulations!🎊 👏 💐
Thank you!! ❤️

Love it! Love it! I'm so proud of you, congratulations, you're the best husbands. Love you so much ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you Giuliana!! We are so so so excited!
Massive congratulations u will b amazing parents ♥️♥️♥️

Beautiful 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 you will have a beautiful family ❤️
Thank you so much 🥺❤️
I'm super jealous tbh. I need to make more money for this to be a reality for me and my partner.
The costs are daunting!! It’s a lot. We feel a tinge of discouragement looking at the costs ahead - it’s something we really hope becomes more accessible and equitable to LGBTQ+ couples.
@@michaelandmatt seeing you guys get to this point really gives me hope 🥰
Imagine being click baited
Next time try to fake some concern for the poor women at ths center of this whole issue.
how??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Are you having the kids or kid? Or not yet?❤
Hi there i am an avid subscriber. I and my husband are about to initiate our surrogacy journey by the end of the year right now we are just researching.
I know you guys have the process in Dallas.. do they allow 1 gestational carrier for 2 embryos? Thankssss!

One might be having a baby with help of a female
this child will never know his biological mother and I find that deeply selfish (I'm gay so this is not homophobic)
We never said that the child wouldn’t know it’s biological mother. On the contrary, we know many gay families that have the biological mother involved in family-life.
They need women to have baby
