Some of them are ruined, but some others must be preserved. There's a lot of history under these construcctions and could easily be included in a new project.
Oh my God, me too! "Demolition Men"it was called, I remember Mum buying me it from the Co-op when I was about 6. Introduced by Charles Moran, former boss of Controlled Demolition Group, and featuring the legendary Fred Dibnah.
Chimney at 5.48 was one of the two concrete chimneys built at the Corby steelworks for the sinter plants the one shown was completed in 1971 the other built in 1977, just thought you would like to know.
Here in the good ol' US of A, we always refer to these as "smokestacks". I know that chimney and smokestack are synonyms, but here in the US we call the ones mounted on houses "chimneys" and the huge factory ones "smokestacks". 😃 Greetings from the United States
3:08 that looks like fred dibnah does it, because most chimney that has smokes on the top before demolition is demolished by fred dibnah or someone that follows fred dibnah's instruction on how to demolish a chimney.
It was done by Fred Dibnah, in 1989. But, it was originally too be done by the dynamite men, but the surroundings were awfully close too the chimney. Since it had too come down, they brought in Fred dibnah, the mill was called Ballyclare.
Bro, I enjoyed it because it breaks approximately at that point which is 1\3 (chimneys Length) up from the ground! We can find this by calculating the maximum torque (Bending Effect) point! Thank you because it helped me to visualize physics again! And I will try to show this to my new viewers, they will enjoy it! Once again Thank you! 💝 And I've subscribed to your channel!
I wonder if Blaster Bates blew a few of those, If you haven't herd of Blaster, then type his name in and listen to his stories, I guarantee you will enjoy.
basic physics can actually predict at which point the brick cylinder dislocates during the fall. (1/3 of height from basis) At least under hypothesis of 1) a rotation of the whole cyclinder during the fall. Which is sometimes not at all, but most of the time close to what's observed indeed. 2) that it is a cylinder indeed, which is not in reality: the base is usually stronger than the higher parts. Still, this break can be observed in almost all cases for brick chimneys.

Quite possibly. The VHS it was taken from was released in 1994.
