Went to high school with him. Glad to see someone who was quiet got to express themselves and show their talent to a crowd like this. They're my favorite band right now
He periodically does a lot of moves that look like hair flips too, he did used to have long hair, funny how those mannerisms stayed. It's definitely his hype and keeping himself high energy :)
1:20 Caleb walks up with the perfectly timed cymbal choke. Nice. I guess Caleb does write and play all of the instruments on their records. So he knows all if the parts in each song really well. As simple as this cymbal choke may appear, it really does make that part sound a lot more badass than of the cymbal just rang out
@@DieParan00bs If you look at live performances of August Burns Red, Jake sometimes does some clean cymbal chokes for Matt. I think it's not as much a question of writing the parts as knowing them and great camaraderie between the band members.
@@steventurner1628 yea I remember watching those videos with both of them on Aaron's custom Truth kits. I'm not a drummer but I learned a lot of technique from those videos.
soon as I saw that left hand at 0:14 I knew I was in for a treat. this shit had me cheesin hard. Connor is such a monster dude. whenever someone asks why drums are the sickest instrument, I think I'll just show them this.
Grinning from ear to ear while watching this! Connor is a monster! And I reckon every time he plays this song the fills get more and more elaborate haha
Crazy seeing how far Denis has come. First saw him on his videos of him doing drum lessons with the all might Aaron Gillespie of Underoath. That is why he is so aggressive and has a similar style. Aaron is one of his inspirations
This dude deserves some credit. He doesn't overplay and isn't doing anything super technical but he has some super unique snare fills at uncommon points of the song as well as using his Tom's uniquely. He just has the feel. Can't explain it. Reminds of Daniel Davidson.
Naw he was kinda sloppy with BAAO. He's cleaned up pretty well and he's super solid in Beartooth. His aggression fits in better here. BAAO went crazy soft.
There’s something about his energy when he’s playing drums. He loves playing music and it shows. When he’s feeling it and his head starts shaking and the teeth start showing with his underbite you can just feel what he feels.
He sounds way better in this video than some of the others I've seen. In earlier videos he sounded rough. But this video he kills it!! He is an amazing drummer
One of the more underrated and underutilized drummers currently. He's an absolute monster behind the kit yet Caleb won't use him on the records. Connor is a beast of a drummer. Check him playing with Being as an Ocean.
Use the RUclips app to slow the playback speed down and you can see what he is doing. 4 over 2 in different patterns like @Liam Harlow Drums said. I use the playback speed thing for loads of stuff. Mike Mangini was doing some witchcraft and the only way I could even comprehend what he was doing was at a quarter speed!!! Its a very handy tool.
@@vxrdrummer well for that you shouldn't have to watch at less than normal speed since all you have to do is watch how many times he's doing hand strokes and feet strokes but you're right about the playback speed being helpful. @@udaman100 oh absolutely. I didn't have to slow that one down, but with some things it has really helped me out. I guess though we are all different levels of ability and the guy that originally commented couldn't see what was going on like we could. I had to slow down a quintuplet groove in a periphery song last year, and it had already been slowed down in the video amyway ha ha. I struggled with that one!

I love how he adds crazy chops and fills that aren't in the original song and he pulls it off perfectly. One of my favorite drummers.
This is my dude! I had so much fun watching Connor rip it up everyday on warped.
he stays rippin
Wuttup Gabe! You tore ass too tho man
Both Connor and Gabe are beastsssss. Inspirational for sure. Love watching them!
Went to high school with him. Glad to see someone who was quiet got to express themselves and show their talent to a crowd like this. They're my favorite band right now
Gabe just out here with the compliments haha you both rule 🤘thanks for your hard work
This dude is living my moto: play everytime like it's your last
Why isn't anyone giving Caleb credit for that cymbal choke at 1:22
I honestly didn't catch it. Rad.
\m/
It sounded hot. Thank you for that Caleb
HOLY SHIT I FIND IT AWESOME THAT HE THOUGHT "Hey maybe that'd sound dope"
I had to watch some other live videos to see if he does that. He does.
0:05, 0:33, 1:35, 2:24, 2:33, 3:02
He periodically does a lot of moves that look like hair flips too, he did used to have long hair, funny how those mannerisms stayed. It's definitely his hype and keeping himself high energy :)
dude lmaoooo thanks for this
thank you, this made my night better lol
IM FUCKIN WEAK
Jacob Strock I thought they would be the drum fills FFS

True, very true!...An alternative way could've been Caleb just knowing when Connor D. hits that crash and time it well.
He writes all of the bands stuff. He even recorded the first EP completely by himself. (He was the only band member at this point)
@@DieParan00bs Yeah I know, crazy shit for sure

2:43 When you're smashing the ride so hard you have to hold the snare for balance. The man is a beast
lol your joke makes no sense tbh
When I'm playing drums all calmly, Connor is a visual representation of what's going on mentally.. I need to express my shit like him lmao
Jess CCQ looks like cocaine helps too
esp 2:34 lol
Me too, unfortunately im on a budget kit, might break cymbals, heads, and sticks more often haha
It's refreshing to see him having so much fun with these songs. I was expecting a less-than-stellar performance, and he absolutely surprised me.
I've been watching connor drum for years now and I've never seen him play less-than-stellar. I'm actually pretty sure he's incapable of that haha
He took what Aaron Gillespie gave him and literally just multiplied it by 1000x. So unreal!
Wait was Connor one of Aaron's students????!
@@taylorlowinger1206 yep
Taylor Lowinger yessir!
Taylor Lowinger pretty sure there is a video on Connors RUclips channel of Aaron giving him a lesson wayyyy back in the day

This guys definitely one of the top 10 drummers of this era. Extremely talented
Really hope Connor becomes a permanent member of Beartooth. He's one of the best live drummers I've ever seen.

Connor is the man. He brings great rhythm and flow to the tooth. Always enjoy watching this dude play!
2:41 how to break the drumkit, the sticks, and the floor below the drumkit
Connor was such a great addition to this band. Even when you aren't watching him play, you can just hear the energy he brings.
this just proves why Connor is my all time fav drummer man, he's the awesomest
Grinning from ear to ear while watching this! Connor is a monster! And I reckon every time he plays this song the fills get more and more elaborate haha
I saw this band/guy in Detroit,MI, and was one the best drummers of all Warped Tour. Seriously the bass drum and snare kicked my chest.
2:24 *EXTRA* *EXTRA* *spits* *EXTRA*
At first I thought Beartooth got a new drummer xD Connor looks so different with short hair
Jason LovesABR I thought they did but I could he wrong
Jason LovesABR Well none of them are officially part of the band, Caleb writes everything. So they might not need to announce it?
Crazy seeing how far Denis has come. First saw him on his videos of him doing drum lessons with the all might Aaron Gillespie of Underoath. That is why he is so aggressive and has a similar style. Aaron is one of his inspirations
I love at the end Caleb Screams "CIRCLE PIT!!! CIRCLE PIT!! CIRCLE PIT!!! CIRCLE PIT!!!"

I love this dude for giving everything, every time.
So simple yet so powerful. Great drumming
The best of all, definitively!!
Extremely talented drummer. I want whatever he is on
at 0:08 the ride is like "o shit pls no not again"
I guess the rest of the cymbals aren´t happy, as well :D
This man is a fucking machine. I could watch him all day.
So many badass drummers these days fr
Yo that fill at 0:40 is insane.
Absolute animal behind the kit, love this
im so proud of him he's lost so much weight and power on drums has become more stronger and more powerful you fucking rock brother
FINNAAALLLYYYYYYYY BEEN WAITING FOR A NEW VID OF CONNOR
STK Studio I'll never miss a connor cam
toooooootes!!
that's the coolest thing ever at 1:21 , you can feel the synergy between both

I used to play with that much love, miss being in a band.

This dude is a beast. How have I not heard of him?
Amazing camera work man. It completely captures Connor's aggressive style of drumming.
thank you
no.
0:40 great hi hat control
William Cairns he’s a good drummer but failed miserably at that part honestly

He sounds way better in this video than some of the others I've seen. In earlier videos he sounded rough. But this video he kills it!! He is an amazing drummer
His cymbal, drumhead& drumstick endorsers have gone bankrupt in the meanwhile...
This is like that scene from a diary of a wimpy kid where the kids go thru puberty and look way different.
xxkornmetalxx I mean he is barely like 20-21 lol he started with BAAO at barely 18 years old
"CIRCLE PIT CIRCLE PIT CIRCLE PIT CIRCLE PIT"
Groovy, clean, and heavy.
I love his energy
@2:43 he's literally leaning on the snare so he can hit the cymbal harder. I love it.

Aaron is conor's teacher
Neither of them follow each other on Instagram. I guess they are currently not friends.
