Lmao, poor Alex was completely right about the Molded being totally different from infected people and they all just shut him down.
Alex has predicted wendigos and now Lucas being a secret agent. I will trust whatever he says that includes that I now believe that he is shigeru miyamoto.
What makes more sense- that's Lucas (The guy who sets weird messed up traps for repeated victims) who sends those emails, or Zoe (the one who is actually lucid throughout, and helps you)...
@345tom It's lucas. He's a just a sick fucker. The kid you have to get the D-arm from in the house is actually a corpse from before Eveline ever showed up. It was his childhood bully who he locked in the attic and let die of dehydration.

@Alexander Pallotta Yeah I just looked it up, and that's still dumb as fuck to me. Like why make it Lucas, when you've got a character perfectly served to take that place. Narrativly, it makes no sense, but is apparently true. Because Zoe's place in the game doesn't make any sense- we know she's a Baker, and was there when Lucas was a kid. We don't know whether she moved, and came back, or was always there, but the game gives no reason as to why she didn't get infected by Eveline, or, if she did, isn't anyway near as bad a state as the other Bakers.
The game seems like a fun game, and a cool experience, but I fear that if you look at the story for too long, the whole thing falls over.
Can we appreciate for a moment, their laughs. Whenever they laugh, even when its incoherent, it's so genuine ,even if you stumbled on to this series randomly you would know these guys were friends by the way they laugh together.
Their laughs are the best part.

It came to me when the letter mentioned she was getting old rapidly. I knew right then it was grandma the whole time
The whole boat thing is kinda made up by this episode. That was literally like in the end of a movie when you realize it's the boyfriend/girlfriend/dad/mom/sister who was the murderer all along or someshit
I fucking knew it. As soon as the note said that she's stating to look old I screamed, "EVIE IS GRANDMA!" I was so surprised that they didn't say anything. But Jesse had my back at the end.
Just to clear some things up that SGS got completely wrong. The molded are not corpses, whoever was saying that they're separate from the talk about human infection and mutation was correct. That explicitly refers to how Jack and Maggie went from super healing to being mind controlled to being huge tentacle/spider monsters. The molded are created from nothing, she just vomits mold mass out and then it forms into a monster. The thing about "10 minutes after dose: vomiting, 12 minutes after dose: death" were showing what happens when you apply necrotoxin to an E bioweapon like eveline, because she's not the only one they made.

Remember the cop head though. The one in the fridge. It looked half-mutated like a molded was growing out of it.
Just to add on, if you introduce mold to a dead body you can make molded. That's why the cops head was slightly mutated. The molded are made up of a ton of living cells, but they don't need a human body to grow. Evaline can even vomit up the stuff to make her own molded. But yes Alex was right and Jesse just bulldozed him as Jesse usually does all while getting the details wrong.
Makro Mold needs food to grow on.
Exactly, the Fungi just need the dead people to grow. The Bakers just say they "turned" because they put dead people on the fungi and then the Molded appears. But that's just because they don't know better. The Molded are the Fungi reacting to provocation as the reports said, and the Bakers are hosts of Fungi infection that Eveline can mind control.

Even without the hint, I think grandma being the last boss i think is fairly obvious.
not to mention every time there is a ton of molded monsters or the bakers being extra crazy, grandma was around

Holy Shit! The notes at 16:05 make no mention of Granny despite talking about Mia, Evie, Jack and Marguerite. And then it ends with Lucas saying that Evie is starting to get old. Does that mean that Granny IS Evie's physical body? So she IS the final boss!

It's really not. It's a twist anyone with knowledge of RE lore can figure out when they find the first picture of Grandma labeled E-001. The first Tyrant was literally called T-001... It's a non-twist. It's so obvious it's hilarious. Literally every single LP I've watched says in episode 1 or 2 "GRANDMA'S BEHIND IT ALL!" so, "Set up incredibly well" is huge stretch.
The only people shocked by it are people that like to pretend they know about Resident Evil. Liking "old school" Resident Evil became cool after 4 made it popular, but anyone that's actually surprised by the "great unveil" that Grandma is Evie is just one of those "ME TOO!" fans that wants to be in on it.

One thing that kind of seems strange though is that in the house there is literally a room called "Grandma's room" that contains letters from the outside addressed to her. I guess maybe at one point their was an actual Grandma?

Honestly their sudden realisation about Evie; the immediate discovery that they were right; and their reaction to the whole thing will always be one of my favourite moments in RUclips history
The extreme delay of them realising Evelyn is the grandma is just gold. I will never know how they didn't lose their minds as soon as they read it :D

They were so focused on Lucas being a mole that they didn't notice the game telling them the actual reveal. Everyone's like "OH MY GOD JESSE'S EPIPHANY", and here I am, kinda disappointed that these theorycrafting lore nerds didn't put two and two together on the spot.
not to mention she has an apparent shifting ability and as they mentioned the grandma is not referenced or in anything.

Yeah, Christopher Odd figured it out by himself when he met Evelyn at the ship, based on the clue from long time ago and the way she sits, while the entire squad needed something like 20 minutes (and Evie singing) after reading about it to figure it out.
DeadFingers yeah it literally said Evie is getting old and wrinkled, and they just totally ignored that. I couldn't believe it.

+Alexander Luna It's just one very short boss fight, and Zoe on the boat instead of Mia. But also, they've been overwriting their one and only save this entire time so they'd need to play the entire thing again just for that. You don't get any more exposition, so it's not worth it IMHO.

Funny thing, when they were in the beginning at were still at the dining room table, one or more of them made a comment saying something like "Grandma is going to be the final boss".
I know it was probably said in a joking manner, but they were so right too.

Wait actually when Ethan watched the tape Lucas prerecorded for him it involved Lucas freaking out at Evie for saying something implying he was no longer clear.
He was pretending to be under Eveline's control the entire time, in order to keep her from figuring out he was cured.

That makes sense actually, they cured her ability to control him, but that doesn't mean he can't still see/hear her hallucination stuff, he just isn't melded with her mind anymore. Would also explain why he tried to kill him in the first place when she still wanted Ethan as "daddy"
Episodes like this are why I love this squad. Even if the theorycrafting isn't spot on it's so exciting seeing them lose their minds.
I have yet to freaking see these guys be wrong on any of these games that they have played.
every damn time they've been pretty much spot-on on every single plot point, on all the scary games I've seen them play.

ive not been scared this whole playthrough, but jesse's detective work at the end, sent chills down my spine, i dont wanna see the end boss
I literally had just started replaying the playlist when I saw a "private video" at the end and just knew he was uploading now
it's when these guys (specially Jesse) have the 'plot revelation click moments', that make this series the best
I hope they add more enemy variations. The molded fights turned from palm sweating fun to just plain extra chore.
The fluffy men were introduced pretty late, and they're significantly different from the rest. I don't think they had time to make any more than they already had.

Can I just say that their realization could not have been more perfectly timed? All that discussion, connecting of dots, then a hint of doubt instantly erased thanks to the reveal as they make progress. That couldn't have been better even if they planned it.
I like how they just noticed the part about her getting older at the end of the episode when they read that at the beginning. I love this series.

I think it's because they were so focused on Lucas and thinking he would show up again, that it went right over their heads at the time.
Honestly my favorite thing about watching this game is seeing the moment people realize the grandma twist.
In my mind's eye I picture Jirard doing a groovy dance around the room as he celebrates his victory, and it is glorious.
I love this series and all the scary game squad stuff you guys do. I hope good horror games keep coming out, and that you guys continue to play them.

LastZepp1 in RE5, set in Africa, the Zombie plague is caused by Ouroborus. Ouroborus is a black infection, a lot like the Mold.
The letters fit, so it could be that. Which connects the Baker house with Umbrella.
@Conbz Spot on, but at the time it would have been linked with Tricell instead given it's their research with Wesker which finalized the virus.
Call me crazy but i'm pretty sure it's spelled Oroboros and not Ouroboros...

(he's awful at searching though) I'm not sure why you'd drop the bombs right at their feet and run away, instead of just leading them over it. They likely weren't killing the vine guys because they were a distance past the bomb before it was set off that way.

oh my god. I can't believe they told us about grandma right at the beginning of the game before anything even happened. I don't even mind that i spoiled this whole game watching these guys play it. it was totally worth it for all their theories and reactions. I'm definitely still gonna buy this and play through it with my brother to watch him freak out over the story.

The whole game just falls apart at the fact that the main character DID NOT SHOOT grandma the first chance he got.

Not necessarily. Ethan is already infected by the time that he's at the table with Grandma, it could be that Evie through her hive-mind control thing literally keeps him from pointing a gun at her.
to be fair we wouldn't have video game if he did. Plus I believe you couldn't shoot her as she was already controlling you at that point and she forced you to not shot her as she wanted you as her daddy. You are able to kill her at the end as she doesn't want you as her daddy anymore and no longer controls you
guns are worthless, they need their e-necrotoxing or whatever to be able to kill her first anyway

I knew it was grandma as soon as I saw the picture of her in the first few minutes of the game that had "E-001" on the back.
Also how they didn't give a collective gasp when the document says Evie is grandma until the very last second.
That fucking wheelchair was meant for them.

When they were reading the letter about Evie getting old, I flipped out when they didn't catch on it was most likely grandma...then died laughing when they realized before the wheelchair reveal at the end of the video...took them almost 30mins to realize! I'm dead lol...got to love these lightbulb moments.
Shame couldn't get a closer look of the doll though.
Wonder if her getting old is a failsafe or if she was just a delayed failed experiment.
I was wondering how long it was gonna take them to figure out granny. As soon as they read the note, I was jumping around my room (though honestly, the reveal here was way better).

I can't belevie that SGS of all people didn't instantly pick of on who Eveline is, when they saw that e-mail. That took Jesse some sweet time.
