Very nice. Her voice still has that special characteristic that made her the star she is. I can't believe she is 60 now! She is the same age as another great black soprano of her generation, Kathleen Battle.
in the short time that i have lived on this earth i have never heard anything as beautiful as this. I have goosebumps its so beautiful. I just close my eyes lean back and all my worries are taken away there is just beauty peace. The condlicts of the world seem to disapear how can war happen when there is so much beuty in the world why must we make pain.

I know I should feel this music as a sigh of hope, even some kind of Human Redemption ... but I can't ... my tears are of a different type from yours ... I don't even have to hear the music ... I just think about it & I can't control the flow ... I have to think about something else to take away the sorrow that I know is coming. This music makes me want to die -- not live -- there is no point in living once you've heard this Ave Maria, Shubert's greatest music ... music so _depressing_ ( I know that's not really the right word ... but ... yet, so beautiful, nothing else will come in life to replace it ). _The world does not deserve this music_ that makes even atheists regret not Believing. Luckily, in your Sweet Bird of Youth, you won't end-up like me.
From 1977 to 1979 I was the Principal Cellist of the Pittsburgh Symphony. After more than 40 years much has blurred together, but Barbara Hendricks singing the German Requiem is imprinted on my memory as a great lifetime experience.
This is why I like to be a l one for a while. Who would wish to be disturbed while listening to what could be a glimpse of the heveans?! Am still listening 2018 from uganda Eastafrica

Hi Editor, I have that song sung by Barbara Hendricks in 1992 (!) and "Sweet Jesus" (and moore) too...:) Do you know whether that 1992 TV- concert in the "Dorfkirche Steinhausen" in Germany is already "available" at YT ?
