I’m a music teacher. I taught high school band for 20 years. My SD started in my early 40s. I thought it was due to strain from marching band rehearsals. In my late 40’s, I am now teaching general music to elementary students. I am vocally distressed. I tried two injections before the pandemic. I noticed the first s treatment worked. With the second treatment (more Botox), my voice never recovered. I now speak with a delay. Sometimes it is like my voice has to kickstart. I sound most like the older lady in this video.

I had a breathy voice over 10 + years. I don't have bass in my voice. No one knows the problem. A nurse at work and speech therapist thought this is what I havr. Will I ever have a normal voice again? I am almost crying right now.

I would consider seeing your speech-language pathologist or a different speech-language pathologist for your voice concerns again and requesting treatment and imaging of your vocal fold function and structure if you have not done so already.

@@ranidore5218 the anxiety is what makes it crazy. Just remember to take some deep breathes with your stomach and not your chest. You’ll be fine hopefully
