I think it's fun to see Revlon and Almay bringing in some new products. They have been such drugstore staples for so long, and I've really been hoping they would make a comeback
Jen, I am 73;years young and you are by far one of my favorite creators on RUclips! I so appreciate your honesty and integrity when reviewing new products for us. I also want to thank you for offering so much info for more cost effective skincare, sunscreen and makeup. My only “criticism”……you inspire me too much sometimes. 😊 But I am also really using what I have and rediscovering some faves. Thanks for all you do, and for your dedication to Vlogmas.. That is an amazing amount of time and work. Have a very wonderful, healthy and peaceful 2025!❤💄
I went to my Dollar General yesterday to see if they still had any Believe Beauty products. Their display is now ELF and all the Believe was in the clearance section for 50% off. I got a foundation, translucent powder, blush, bronzer, 4 brushes, and 4 mascaras for $20.
You should probably mention that the L'Oréal highlighter sticks come in 2 different formulas. There's the formula you used, the "glowy" one, that has more of a pearlescent base. There is also a "glassy" formula that has no pearl in it. It's completely transparent and is nothing but a natural looking glow. 😊
I bought the L’Oréal highlighter in glassy pearl eclat and it’s a Chanel dupe. It’s glossy on the skin and your skin looks wet. It’s stunning. There’s 2 different formulas glassy and the one you bought. It does stay sticky a little bit but it’s worth it❤
Yes, I bought it when it first released, and I LOVE it!! It’s so gorgeous, and I was able to skip the Chanel stick (which had been in my cart for a *very* long time). 😉
@@sherihays4559 I haven’t had any trouble with that. I usually swipe my fingers over the stick and pat it on, or vice versa - swipe it on my skin & then blend it out by patting with my fingers. Hope that helps!
2025 is all about natural skin & makeup which I LOVE! I'm so over all the contour, heavy blush, highlighter, etc. Your hair looked so cute in the headband. 😊
I forgot Vlogmas is over, I was waiting for the intro music and your son walking down the stairs🤣 Happy New Year’s🎉❤ forgot to ask did you notice a difference in that Beauty of Joseon sunscreen since they reformulated it to SPF40? I love that sunscreen works so well with all my foundations.
Love that you’re keeping us up to date on new drugstore makeup products. I’m a sucker for blushes (I already have more than I can ever use up) but I’ve never applyed them on my lips. These new Almay sticks are something I could see carrying in my purse and using for lips & cheeks. One thing that I hate though are pink, rosy, orange, red or gold eyeshadow shades. They make me look like I’m unwell.
FYI, there is a fragrant ingredient in the new Almay sticks. If you're not sensitive to fragrance, it may not be a problem for you. It's Linum Usitatissimum Seed Extract. It's way down the ingredients list, so there probably isn't much in it. I do have sensitive skin, so I do my best to avoid all fragrance in skin care and makeup, including lipstick. I learned the hard way with some nasty rashes on my face and lips.
I agree with you on the smelling like flowers. It gives me a headache. Lips are so close to the nose. Great video. I'm waiting for my walmart to update covergirl cosmetics.
You always bring us the newest from the drugstore and I appreciate it so much! I am dedicated to doing a low/no-buy in the new year. I will only be purchasing to replace. So if I use up all of my tinted moisturizers, I'll buy a new one. If I use up all of my nude-toned blushes, I'll buy a new nude-toned blush. Etc. I'm keeping a running list of products that I'd be interested in checking out when I need to purchase something new and these types of videos help out so much. Looking forward to more in the new year!
Happy New Year everyone! @ Me too! I finally found several perfect products for my skin and skin colour+tone in 2024 and while my new cream bronzers are "acceptable" (still not cool enough, but they're light enough and neutral) instead of perfect in shade as my powder bronzers are. It's the only part of my makeup that I might jump on in the future if I truly find a better replacement. I do need new lipliners for two of my favourite lipsticks, as the ones I had are either gone or down to a tiny stub and both are no longer available. The same for a few one and done cream shadows - I just rarely pick up palettes as my super deep set eyes can't have more than 2 colours anyway. They were no longer good, so I binned them: need to find something like Jen was showing (Colourpop isn't available here, though, so it's always difficult and the Moira ones are a tad too festive). But like you said, that all falls in the category of "replacing". Other than that I'm planning to not spend a cent on beauty products. It actually feels nice to read that more people are doing a no-buy year. We can support each other with the wise words "You don't need more! "😂
I have a no buy for at least 2025, unless I finish a favourite product. That L'Oréal highlighter reminds me of my current Number One cream highlighter, the Butter Cream highlighter from Holika Holika. Absolutely FANTASTIC cream highlighter. So easy to apply - I always use my finger - looks gorgeous on my dry, mature (47yo) skin. But, mine is champagne coloured, which I prefer over a rosy one (my NR2 from One.Two.Free, which is cream in a pot, has a rosy-silver Tint). However, I need to order the Holika Holika abroad and it's €18 - not cheap. So it might be a good replacement if there is a champagne shade! I only got the Butter stick in September, and over half is already gone (and I only use makeup 1-2 days a week!) because I leave all my liquids and powders in the drawer. So, perfect option - IF it's available here, because those lumi le liquid blushes I really wanted are still not to be found here in The Netherlands.
I think the this super shock color is gorgeous on you, brightens your face, brings out your eyes and looks fresh and youthful. Of course what matters is if you like it but I thought I would share some positive feedback. I think I’m going to order A Little Quarky, the highlighters and the Almay blush in nude which I think the powder shade of Almay I have will layer nicely on it for smoothness & longevity. Thanks! Great video. Love seeing all the new new ❤ Have a Happy New Year 🎉
Well Almay was a nice surprise! I loved those colorpop super shock shadows on you too. And I’m with you on the plumping glosses. I don’t like them at all. Looking forward to the next one! Have a very Happy New Year! 🎊🎆🎈 hugs💖
I don't think any of the brands sold in physical stores like Walmart are in danger of "going under" tbh. Today's marketing & advertising has conditioned us to think that profit and success are reflected in a brand's visibility, but in reality, there are thousands (probably millions?) of companies and business that are quietly making enough money to continue their business, without the flashy publicity or dramatic sales increases that more visible brands have. I think Almay is an especially safe brand - their target consumer isn't social media users so we might think they're dead, but there are plenty of people who perceive Almay as reputable, "safe" to use, etc. They also do skincare from what I remember. Maybe it's an older consumer base that is less likely to post on social about their purchases. 🤷🏽♀️ Just because we don't "hear" about a brand on social media doesn't mean they're on their way out. There are all kinds of businesses in the world, and sometimes it's enough to meet your bottom line and continue with life. Social media virality has really skewed our ideas of success lol
I do agree with you somewhat, people will always buy the brands they're loyal to, but the beauty industry is way more saturated than it used to be. When you walk into stores, the bigger brands like NYX, L'Oreal, Maybelline and elf have the biggest displays and huge ranges of products to choose from. At some point, even regular consumers aren't going to buy as much Almay if there's more selection with other brands. There's only so much money to go around and back in the 90's and early 2000's when there wasn't as much saturation in the beauty space, more money was going to brands like Almay. Now I'm sure less and less is going their way so I think they could absolutely go under at some point.
That L’Oréal lip product… I almost going to buy that last week. I’m glad I talked myself out of it to just wait for your review. Saved myself some money.
Hey Jen, I was wondering if you have tried the DRMTLGY concentrated hand cream? I have raw, dry, cracked skin on my hands that can get quite painful, until a friend of mine recommended this product. I take the time to really rub it in on my knuckles and around my nails, and it truly has been a game changer. Thank you for this video, it has opened my eyes to some new products.❤
Thanks for all the hard work you put into these videos, Jen--you're my favourite content creator because of your candid, thorough, honest and helpful reviews and introductions to products! xx
Jen, after you applied the 2 shades of eyeshadow, you opened your eyes and wow! Your eyes looked so beautifully bright blue. Please wear those shades together when you want to show off your eye color. I always love your videos. Have a prosperous New Year.
I got vouchers for expensive stores and I bought some nice make up Chanel, Hourglass, Dior, Fenty foundation, then bought Nyx butta blushes, the colours spoke to me, I did fold and buy the new Charlotte Tilbury palette, it is really pretty. I was spoiled this Christmas.
Thank you for creating content during the holiday season; I hope you’re booking in some rest time! I love the highlighter stick but furious that it’s not obviously available here in the UK. There’s no mention of it on the L’Oréal uk website, or on Amazon, Boots, Superdrug sites either. Gah!
I recently got the L'Oréal Lumi Le Glow Highlighter Stick in Glowy Crème Chic, and I like the light golden glow it gives my skin. It lasted five hours on my oily skin, before I noticed it disappeared. The Almay Color & Care Tint Stix look good I really like the Nude Flush color on your cheeks and lips, the perfect color.
I really need to try the Beauty of Joseon sunscreen. I have a family history or skin cancer (and also just want to protect my face regardless) and am still hunting for the right sunscreen that works under my preferred foundations. Thanks for your sunscreen series this summer. Have a wonderful new year!
Just a note to thank you for the Christmas opening scenes. I loved seeing your sons and was reminded of my own season of raising my kids ( Power Rangers in my nativity). Thank you for blessing our community with your excellence and demeanor.
Thank you for all you do, Jen!🩷🙏🏻 I've noticed lately you've gotten away from soooo many steps in your routine.. like cream bronzer & blush then powder bronzer & blush... AND I TRULY APPRECIATE IT!🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼 You've reminded me that I don't need 50 products to have a nice face with makeup! Simplicity is my jam!🥰❤️💄💋👑👏🏻
Hi Jen, thank you for bringing all these new products to our attention, I very much appreciate all your hard work that you put into this video. Love Katherine xoxo
I love shopping and show and tell videos. I like the eyeshadow and the Almay blush & lips. Thanks for an enjoyable video Jen. I hope you have a wonderful New Year Holiday.❤💗
Jen...thanks for another amazing video. Always fun to watch you try new products and save us money. I love the foundation on you, eye shadow, and highlighter. You always look so pretty! Blessings for a great New Year! Till next time.
Love the side part! Look at me, commenting early 🙃. Jen, iHerb is having a 20% sale and Fwee is on sale!!!!😊 Happy Everything! 🎄🤶🎅🌲 I agree with your comments about the foundation. Thanks for the new trials.
How exciting for new drugstore! I'm just so tempted to try the super shock shadows; they look so good. Eyeshadows just make me swoon. Thanks for sharing these. I'm so very grateful for you !
Hey Jen, I know you’re not a fan of sticky blushes, but you can set them with either a powder blush or even loose powder. It locks them in place and gives you better longevity
I appreciate these types of drugstore shops from you, Jen! I love makeup and big hauls from creators, but a lot of the times I see 1+ big spending shops some do. While they’re fun to watch it definitely feels more grounding to see creators do 100$ or so spends. 🥺 This isn’t a jab at anyone who big spends on makeup ofc but for me personally? 100$ on makeup up is my idea of splurging, drugstore or not. So seeing creators who also do videos that reflect my own relative makeup spending is somehow assuring? I guess what I mean is it feel grounded in my own reality and budgets if that makes sense. So thank you for doing these 100$ drugstore buys. 💘
I love your videos! I’m gonna have to try those lip & cheek products from Almay! Set to Stun is one of my favorite SS Shadow colors. I like to pair it with a medium brown or taupe shade in the crease. A Little Quarky is really pretty too! I like using that one too!
Love your videos Jen. Pretty cool that you are wearing a Saint medal. Also: For when those lip plumpers burn like that, keep sone plain yogurt handy and apply it as soon as you take the plumping gloss off . It will neutralise the burning.
I think you would really like the By Terry haulornic acid powder. Its so smoothing yet sneaky. It's my holy grail. It is expensive. But it's soooo worth it.
Jen- I just tried the Loreal lip glosses. I seriously believe these are an exact dupe for the Buxom Plump Shot Lip Serum. And 1/3 the price!! I know you don’t like the tingle, but I love it!!
Hello Beautiful! I don't care for any products that are PH or the plumping that stings...nope. But gonna try the new loreal highlight even tho I don't use highlight much anymore. Great video Jen❤
Hi Jen. Just had a chance to watch this. When you said you never noticed any plumping with lip plumpers I was so relieved! I never do either and I keep getting sucked in!!! Like Tati said recently she was all into the Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Plumper “ again I ran right out to buy it even through I threw one away a couple years ago. And I noticed nothing!!! I thought I was the only one and I was doing something wrong!
In a recent video, you were testing some brow products and mentioned that you prefer products with enough hold to keep your brow in place without being overly stiff. I have used Almay Brow Styler for years. It keeps my thick, long, and unruly brows in place the whole day without being annoyingly crunchy. The tiny brush provided is too small to style the brows properly, so I use a large mascara wand to remove excess wax and shape the brows. It's the only Almay product I have ever used. Highly recommend! Thank you for all the invaluable content you provide!
Hi Jen, thanks for the video! When I saw you were talking about the new Almay sticks, I thought "Oh wow, something I should try!" But guess what...they have a fragrant ingredient! Specifically, Linum Usitatissimum Seed Extract. You may not have smelled it, but it's there. I'm disappointed with Almay because they've started putting fragrant ingredients in their products. However, the Maybelline Lifter Stix don't have any added fragrance or fragrant ingredients, as far as I can tell. I went to their website to find the ingredients. I think the formula would work well on my skin. But...I don't see a color that would work for me. Idk, maybe I need to look at the colors in a store, not just online.
I'm 60 years old and always get compliments when I wear Revlon Illuminance foundation. I don't think I will try any of these products. Happy New Year Jen❤
Hi Jen, you are making it very hard for me , I told my husband I would not be making any purchases until April, because I have plenty of makeup. I ended up buying the Lamora pallets from Amazon from your previous video, and hopefully I can keep up with my goal!!
When it comes to Amazon...if u message customer service and let them know that it was way too plumping and either they will tell u to return them or keep them with a full refund. They are really great when it comes to their costumer service. I had bought a 5pack of multiplechrome eyeshadow set but only 2 arrived. I had used the 2 I received and they gave me a full refund.
Thank you! I haven't been wearing it like that because I have a bald spot in my side part from skin cancer. I wear the middle part to hide it but I've been home a lot while my son is out of school on break so it's nice to wear it like this for a change.
Hi Jen! 🙋♀️ excellent video as always, though I don't buy for most of those brands (they're not cruelty free) I enjoy your content, you're always on top of new releases and I trust your honest opinion and recommendations, thnx for all your hard work 🤗... wishing you and your family a blessed 2025 🎉... hugzzz 💜
The maybelline sky high comes off easily with just warm water. If there’s Any black smudges under the eye after removing it with warm water, it comes off easily with a make up remover cloth. An oil based remover will not work because it’s like a tubing mascara but different
I haven't had that experience with Sky High at all. A lot of people say it's tubing but it isn't. I find that it's like glue and keeps coming off even days later. 🤣
@@JenPhelps oh interesting Jen! I just seem to recall reading somewhere ( maybe even on the packaging), to just use warm water and so that’s just how I’ve been doing it. I’ve been meaning to mention to you that Sephoras new skin tint is *chefs kiss*. Not sure if you’ve tried it yet. Also Morphes new skin tint. Not sure if you use morphe or not.

I dont think we have Almay in Australia, but Revlon has been giving us good make-up for years.❤

Thanks Jen i loved this video,,and the products look great,,i love drugstore prices,,,Wishing you a very Happy New Year,🤗💖🌺💖
You recommended Elf Lash xtender mascara and I absolutely love it! Thank you!
Love the color of your hair!
And now I miss the vlogmas intro . . . 😂 Stoked for a drugstore video though!! Thanks Jen!
I really like the Josen sunscreen. Excited for a new video! I find the lip plumper glosses/oils make my lips dry out. So I can’t use them every day.
love that u got not sponsored
I really liked those close up photos you put in- they were really helpful!
Thanks! Great video . Good depth
Almay! Listen to Jen and release more products!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I highly suggest native unscented zinc sunscreen. No white cast and just feels like a lotion. Works great on my combo skin. Just bought my 4th tube
Good video! You always give honest reviews.🤓🎄
Wow that lifter stick foundation was a very good match for you! I am interested and I don't reach for sticks either. Good for on the go! Thank you 😊
Happy New Year 🎊🎉🎉❤
I got 2 of the $5 palettes from Colour Pop during Black Friday sales...Going Coconuts and Orchid You Not. I love them!
2 of my faves!!
The red gloss really brightens your entire face! Very pretty 😍 💕 💗
Hey Jen, I know you’re not a fan of sticky blushes, but you can set them with either a powder blush or even loose powder. It locks them in place and gives you better longevity
But unfortunately it also takes away the glow but if it’s the shade only you like then not a big deal
Thanks for another great video! I think the stick foundation looks really smoothing and beautiful on you. :)
Ah the Nude Flush Almay stick looked so pretty on the lips.
Jen, Hope you had a beautiful Christmas with your family! 😘
It was so nice thank you! I hope yours was good too! 🥰
ur eye look today is fantastic! and i love you with light hair!
I appreciate these types of drugstore shops from you, Jen! I love makeup and big hauls from creators, but a lot of the times I see 1+ big spending shops some do. While they’re fun to watch it definitely feels more grounding to see creators do 100$ or so spends. 🥺
This isn’t a jab at anyone who big spends on makeup ofc but for me personally? 100$ on makeup up is my idea of splurging, drugstore or not. So seeing creators who also do videos that reflect my own relative makeup spending is somehow assuring? I guess what I mean is it feel grounded in my own reality and budgets if that makes sense. So thank you for doing these 100$ drugstore buys. 💘
I'm interested in trying the Maybelline Lifter Stix as a soft bronzer/blush. I've been into soft, nude-toned blushes lately. Thanks Jen!
I love your videos! I’m gonna have to try those lip & cheek products from Almay! Set to Stun is one of my favorite SS Shadow colors. I like to pair it with a medium brown or taupe shade in the crease. A Little Quarky is really pretty too! I like using that one too!
Set to stun made your eye color pop. Thanks for the reviews!
Love your videos Jen. Pretty cool that you are wearing a Saint medal.
Also: For when those lip plumpers burn like that, keep sone plain yogurt handy and apply it as soon as you take the plumping gloss off . It will neutralise the burning.
That beauty of Joseon sunscreen does break me out
I think you would really like the By Terry haulornic acid powder.
Yesterday I saw the new Loreal products in Germany. They now have the lumi liquid blushes, too but NOT the dewy ones 😢😢😢 such a shame…
That Beauty of Josean ..spelling could be wrong, I have 1 in purse and 1 in bathroom. Good stuff 😊❤
Thank you Jen ! ❤
I've never tried that one! Maybe I'll have to pick it up!! 🥰❤️
The Milani Maxx plumping gloss is intense too, but it actually does plump. Takes some getting used to.
Thanks for sharing, Happy new year
I'm 60 years old and always get compliments when I wear Revlon Illuminance foundation. I don't think I will try any of these products. Happy New Year Jen❤
I love your lip swatches
Hi Jen, you are making it very hard for me , I told my husband I would not be making any purchases until April, because I have plenty of makeup. I ended up buying the Lamora pallets from Amazon from your previous video, and hopefully I can keep up with my goal!!
I ordered that glass highlighter I can’t wait to try it, I always wanted my cheeks to look like that!
I'm loving the side part, it makes you look younger.
Thank you! I haven't been wearing it like that because I have a bald spot in my side part from skin cancer. I wear the middle part to hide it but I've been home a lot while my son is out of school on break so it's nice to wear it like this for a change.
@JenPhelps buy some hair fibers, you look stunning.
Hi Jen! 🙋♀️ excellent video as always, though I don't buy for most of those brands (they're not cruelty free) I enjoy your content, you're always on top of new releases and I trust your honest opinion and recommendations, thnx for all your hard work 🤗... wishing you and your family a blessed 2025 🎉... hugzzz 💜
Another very informative video and I love to see the new products. Thanks for sharing
I love your sweater. Thank you Jen. Thank Jen I need to stay away from the plump!!
I think we are going to see a bunch more foundation sticks this year.
Jen the Almay stick looks stunning on you!
Almay TLC foundation is actually one of my favorite drugstore foundations. It lasts beautifully through my 12 hr shifts!
@@JenPhelps ohhhhh and I’ve ordered elfs new powder! Will keep you posted 👍🏽
