Absolutely adorable. You taught that so well. I wasn't listening very well the first time lol so it took me a 2nd try to realize I start with a sc and end with a dc on every row. I really loved how you had us chain our multiple and then said we're going to chain 1 to start row 1. Usually, we say chain a multiple of blah blah and then add blah blah. This kept all the steps for every row so simple! Thanks!💕
I just followed another youtuber in making a washcloth - they used this pattern but didn't mention that it was the lemon peel stitch. If you haven't done one, it does come out very nice! And it's so easy. :)
I’m so happy to see you using your pointer finger to hold your project. I’m new and find this very comfortable but I keep trying to force myself to have “proper” finger holding techniques. Did you try to hold the thread and project how people are taught and realized it wasn’t as comfortable? I find I crochet much slower holding my project with my middle and thumb but I guess I wonder if it will be faster in the future.
I do the same thing, hold my loops on my hook still using my forefinger. My philosophy around it is to do what feels most comfortable for you. I always think comfort, relaxation and enjoyment of the process of crocheting is far more important than how quickly you work.
@@DeanneShoyer funny thing is since than I have now become comfortable with the thread on my pointer finger and can't even make myself go back to how I started. Even now I've started knitting and use the continental style as well.
What i saw from another video using this same stitch, basically she just did another sc and another dc in that same stitch, sooo if the last stich of the row was a sc, you would just put another dc and 1 more sc in that same stich, same applies if you ended on a dc, havent tested it out personally but it worked out in the video
@Rose - From the looks of it, it's a Furls crochet hook. I have several and love them. The style she has is the top of the line for Furls. They're all hand made here in the US so they aren't cheap, but they allow my hands to crochet longer than standard crochet hooks. They even have a short video on how these hooks work to keep your hands from tiring so quickly and they also have one on the exercises to do to keep your hands from cramping.
Thank you very much for the video ! I would like to tell you that the Lemon Peel stich looks familiar for me, with the Griddle stitch. What do you think about this ? Thank you. By the way I enjoy your channel very much.
Yes, the Griddle stitch is similar. It also doesn’t help matters that these combination stitches often have so many different names. The big difference is that with the Lemon Peel stitch you work your single crochet stitches in the double crochets from the previous row and your double crochets into the single crochets in the previous row. With the Griddle stitch, single crochets are worked into single crochets, doubles into doubles.
I’ve never heard this pattern called a lemon peel stitch… can’t remember the original name for it, but it’s not that. I came across this pattern many years ago. I think it’s called the wave stitch/wave pattern, but not 100% sure on that
You have the BEST tutorials! Good teacher!

This is very beautiful! May I please ask for the link to the soundtrack music playing in the background? I love it!
How do you increase and decrease stitches with this? Thanks ahead.

love it for a dish cloth thank you !!!!!!
What kind of yarn would you suggest making wash cloths using this pattern?
Great tutorials. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Please can you tell me what brand of hooks you use? God bless you always!

Pretty stitch.
Do you chain one on both ends?
Yes you chain one at both ends and turn
Awesome!!! Thank you

What size hook are you using?
Not sure what I am doing wrong. Keeping tension the same. However after 2 1/2 rows mine is a big curly chain. Help please.
this is fab! i feel a bedspread coming on - i will of course do a wee practice piece first. oh! is that US terms? x
Hello Flora! All my patterns and videos use US crochet terms :)
Thank you again it's fab x
HopefulHoney
very nice easy v carolyn perry
The end of the row is taller than the rest. The blanket is not going to be rectangular. How do I fix this?
It will be even because each row is begun with a single crochet and ends with a double crochet but you turn your work after each row so it evens out.
Thank youu
Isn't this also the seed stitch?
Yep :)
Could you teach how to crochet a man's sweater using this stitch?
When I learned that stitch it was called the seed stitch
ohhh so it’s just a single crochet, then double crochet etc…
I’ve never heard this pattern called a lemon peel stitch… can’t remember the original name for it, but it’s not that. I came across this pattern many years ago. I think it’s called the wave stitch/wave pattern, but not 100% sure on that
I think this is the seed stitch...it was a good tutorial, but the music...which had no tune..was a destruction.
Yep, another name for this is the seed stitch
