What I love most about Simone is that huge smile! While we know she must be deep in concentration (or not..lol she's a natural) she rarely shows any signs of nerves. Nastia asked her in an interview how she can be cheering on her teammates and 20 seconds later just run on down the way and perform an amazing Amanar. Her response "idk I just do it" haha So while others take time to run through their routines and try to block out the audience and concentrate...she just FLIPS A SWITCH!! A NATURAL. GOOD LUCK LADIES
In contrast to what I said about Skinner (most offputting gymnastics of anyone who has ever represented the USA), Simone is possibly the most awesome gymnast ever to represent our country. It's a challenge to watch her floor routine without smiling involuntarily. Amazing tumbling, well-executed, with dance that suits her personality well. Simone 2016! And every other year!
I remember last year, I was very impressed by Biles, but I wasn't sure if she was _truly_ great. Would she have any staying power? I wondered. What about her faults, like her uncontrolled landings, the sometimes flexed feet, her occasionally suspicious flexibility and such? As much as I admired her and thought she deserved her success, I wasn't as quick to embrace her as some. But now it's a different story; not only has Biles improved tremendously, but she has shown that her success wasn't a one year thing. She is just amazing.
I've noticed that Simone doesn't often complete rotation in her leaps and I noticed that she covers this up by quickly bouncing into choreography. I find it interesting and also confusing as to why the judges aren't picking up on this and deducting it from her d-score..
I don't know what performance you're talking about in specific, because in this one she fully rotates her acrobatic skills. You should really look closely because she is the last person you should be criticizing on rotation, especially when they height she gets clearly gives her enough time to rotate and land cleanly.
Luis Ruiz They have picked up on that, her D score for floor finals went down one tenth. But you're nit picking because you don't like Simone, you like the Russians--I've seen your other comments. How about you appreciate her athleticism because this is a place where the Russians are lacking.
I actually love Simone and I'm not "nit picking" I'm pointing out things that she needs to work on. Everything about her floor routine is fine, except her rotation on leaps, imagine what her score could be if she cleaned that up? And no I don't like the Russians as a whole, I only like some gymnasts from different countries. And I think you mean appreciate her power because if there's something that gymnasts don't lack is athleticism, they're all athletic.
artistry is BORING...id much rather see TUMBLING its so exciting to watch simone doing the most INCREDIBLE tumbling passes than it is to watch someone just dancing...i can go to the ballet and watch dancing i DONT wanna go to a gymnastics event and just watch dancing i wanna watch SIMONE
