push-over analysis results are based on the performance levels of the structure. There are four performance levels (Immediate occupancy (IO), Life safety (LS), Collapse prevention (CP) and Collape (C)) which based on the inelastic behaviour (i.e. plastic hinge formation). So, the maximum displacement the structure can experience corresponding to collapse state (C) according to FEMA356 is 4% of total height of the structure. Thats why, the said value is defined for the analysis. However, the structure will not be pushed to the defined value (4%H). The analysis will be ended within the 4% itself if the structure is designed properly.
Sir ...load to an monitored displacement magnitude of ..is that target displacement ??
sir, do we need to perform any analysis to show RS in Demand spectrum definition ( Function), for me RS option is not displaying.
You have to define RS spectrum in functions to get the performance point in pushover analysis.
thankyou sir
Nice video Sir. For load pattern Push X and Push Y, whether it should be load pattern(EX and EY) or Acceleration UX/UY respectively Sir?
EX and EY
Sir maximum displacement is H/500 ...drift is 4% H.... Where h =ht of bldg....why you hv used drift in place of displacement?
