We used to have sables at our school. One died from a hawk 8 days ago, the other sibling, today. I am currently grieving over them, and this made me more confident and more comfy to not automatically cry and be sensitive about the topic.
Hello, Corin, I found your channel while searching for coracles. Great channel! It's interesting to see your various projects. I'm looking forward to a bantam update.
I would love to learn more about how this breed is to raise, it looks like they make good moms! do they go broody a lot? Are they ok with confinement or do they prefer to free range? thanks!
Chickens are hard wired to do all the chicken things. I have raised a little sablepoot on her own because she was the only egg to hatch from the dozen in the incubator. She is now 10 months old and does all the normal chicken things without seeing another chicken.
Lovely! I’m afraid we were completely wrong about which we thought were cockerels and which we thought were hens so you really can only tell once they start developing their combs a couple of months in.
