    Iron decontamination for myself is my least favorite part of detailing just with the odor. I really like that this formula is not offensive with smell that just helps 10000%. I do love seeing the bleeding if you will after it starts working. I saw another comment on claying a coated car and I'm curious myself. I would say if you have the rinseless and the iron remover your clay shouldn't be touching the surface making it safer. The iron clay lubricant I've been using since I saw Yvan do it and it saves time! Excellent video! Good to see Yvan back and slicker then ever

Than wash the clay towel to remove the contamination. Next spray DIY ceramic gloss spray on panel and DIY Towel. After that apply panel prep and Ceramic coating. Is this the right order?

    Great videos, guys! If you didn't have a pressure washer to rinse off the iron remover, what would be the best way to do so? I saw another video where Nick had used a sprayer to spray more rinseless or used a towel and wrung it out over the panel. However, then you'd have to use multiple towels per panel. I probably answered my own question, but wondering if there is a better way than using a bunch of towels. Would using a separate rinse bucket be an option to wash out the towel from iron remover? Also could you use the rinseless wash sponge or wash mitt instead of towels?

      Absolutely. In fact I would argue it’s essential. You’re essentially removing embedded contaminants from the clear coat. This way when you polish you’ve got the cleanest possible canvas upon which to do your work and you’re not competing against crud that could interfere with or clog up your pad or polish

    The video I was waiting for!
    I've got a question about using clay - how often should decontaminate car? Only when I hear decontamination? Maybe once a year? Or after winter? 🤔

    • @diydetailofficial
      @diydetailofficial  2 года назад +4

      It’s totally dependent on your environment. If you want to…maybe once a quarter. The problem with waiting too long is you tend to get really nasty stuff stuck in the paint…so you inevitably clay “harder” which gives you more risk for marring. I would just use this method with extremely light pressure if any…and if you’re not getting marring do it as often as you wish:) you can put a little more pressure on the windshield but Yvan was right…basically no pressure with clay towel and by folding it you’re giving it a bit of cushion between your hand and the paint

    Is it only when using an iron remover you don't want to dunk your clay towel in the rinseless solution bucket or is it anytime you're using the clay towel? You mentioned contaminating the rinseless. Also would you clean the towel after using all 4 sides and if so what would you use to clean it because you still have the rest of the car to do.
