Ally i just wanted to tell you that ive been an insecure girl before i discovered Kibbe through YOU and i have to say ive never felt prettier and more confident as i always thought i looked like a 12 year old boy ( as a FG) but now i cut myself short straight bangs and a short bob and i feel like a woman now THANK YOU SOOO MUCH for making me feel good about myself😍❤❤❤😚
I'm so happy for you!! FG's are so pretty and cool looking!! I cannot think of any FG I know that doesn't look cool. I've struggled so so so much too with many insecurities. I'm a FN and since around 12yo I had always thought I looked extremely ugly until I discovered Aly. No matter what I always felt manly, old, fat (despite having been a teenage girl of healthy weight) in almost any clothes, makeup, hair, I had pretty much given up. Now I finally begun to really see myself as a woman, I realize beauty in my features, I realized why I liked certain cuts and fits, I'm learning but I feel better appearance-wise than I ever have. I'm SO thankful I could begin to love myself more!!
I'm romantic and VERY fleshy (I am at a healthy BMI but the FLESHINESS ughhh) and you're right about skinny jeans! People think they should work for me, but some make my legs look like short sausages!! I like a thicker material nowadays and more straight or at least slim.
They make me look tucked in and not in a good way! I have skinny legs, but as a TR, they don’t flatter me at all. The shoes worn with the jeans are especially important for tr and r I think.
As a romantic I hate skinny jeans with a passion! Luckily those around me stopped recommending or buying me skinny jeans after I showed them how I look in them vs. how I look in slim fit ones. I like slim fit, straight and boot cut jeans, nothing slimmer or baggier. 😁✌🏻
@@amylovemyart Exactly! 😁 I had people buy me clothes as presents and I had to try them on so they would understand that I'm not exaggerating or being fussy when I'm saying they don't fit properly. Now most of them know what I wear or they literally take me shopping so I can try them on or simply buy vouchers and everyone is happy. 😌
As Soft Classic I must say, I only like myself in skinny, slim and straight jeans (bootcuts only if the bell is subtle and cropped). Mum jeans are no very flattering if they are not vintage (new cuts tend to be too baggy). No rips, no fantasy, no strange colours, no stains, etc. Wide cut only in trousers, no jeans. And forbidden low rise, scruffy looks and baggy clothes.
As a fellow SC :-) I agree, skinny and slim work best for me. But I haven't been able to find a straight cut jeans that works for me, and mom jeans aren't great as well.
Thank you for this comment! It's so helpful and confirms my suspicions. I tried mom jeans a few times and i never liked how they looked. I love the baggier styles, so I'm very sad that I can't pull them off. But i never considered straight jeans before! Maybe i should give those a try. I'm a little sick of skinny jeans 😅
@@Flippinger I thought the same about mums and straight. Until I found a pair of vintage Levi's 501. I wore them untile they ripped apart. They were the perfect mix between straight and mum. But only if you like the vintage style look. And I also got a pair of straight from Mango and I love them (but wear them crop). But skinny and slims have always been my win-win (I find difficult to find slims 🤔)
@@lipasketch with straight jeans as long as they are not low rise but mid rise or high waist, and they don't reach the floor, but are ankle length or a little bit cropped, I find them ok
I heard a tip from someone about that if you buy oversized jeans (probably thrifted) , then go to a tailor to get it cinched at the waist, the bottom part of the pants will flow out more nicely than trying to get something that may or may not be your size from online stores. Not sure how it’ll do, but it does sound lovely to try.
I tailor them myself, but I use this method constantly!! Always gives me a better fit than anything I can get new in stores, because I’m a romantic with wide hips and a small waist. Also allows for much higher waisted jeans, which are much more flattering on me
@@katie-allen I was gonna say, why would anyone buy something used and wrong size and then spend the money on a tailor! Every woman should learn to sew, I've been altering my own clothes since highschool.
@@cloudy7235 well, it takes a lot of money to buy a sewing machine depending on where you’re from and what you have access to. And some people work multiple jobs or have kids and just don’t have the time to learn. It costs a lot less to have 2 pairs of pants altered for $10 a piece than to buy a sewing machine. I’m very privileged to be able to have my own sewing machine and the time to learn to sew. I think that you’re right that, with a nice inexpensive sewing machine and some spare time, most people would benefit from being able to sew. But not everyone can get even an inexpensive sewing machine or have any spare time, so let’s be kind to those who haven’t had the opportunities we’ve had
As SN, you were so on point. In both extremes: skinny jeans makes us look wider/overweight than we are and boyfriend makes us look shorter. I also think proportions are important, I personally despise high waist because I am petite with long legs and short torso, since this is the trend nowadays, I have stopped wearing jeans because I can’t find a proper mid rise (with wide waist cut) and straight cut.
Fellow SN here! I also find jeans hard for my body type and I only own two pairs...one of which fits me correctly LOL. I just can’t seem to find what really works for me and then I feel like hey are never comfortable.
I wish for each type you’d choose one celeb example for each and pick one Jean look that worked for them and one that didn’t so we can compare on the same person :)
As a FG, all the suggestions just confirm my type even more. I can look good in bagged and wide/flared jeans (my personal favs for my style) as long as they are a) more delicate, b) high wasted and c) paired with slim, form fitting tops (i like turtlenecks and skin tight cropped tops 😜)
Aly, where have you been my whole life?! This is a GREAT video. Your photos really helped me understand my type in 3 minutes… compared to struggling on this topic my whole life!!! Summary for classics: We can wear most shapes so long as the shapes are a bit more refined and hit around the ankle. -Baggy jeans need to be slimmer, slim jeans should skim my body -not suction to it. -All jeans should have a shorter hem line (at or around the ankle) so its doesn’t overwhelm our classic/medium frame. -All in saturated colors, no fading or rips (cheapens the look).
Are you straight classic or soft? I don’t know what I am and it’s driving me crazy. I can’t even figure out my shoulder slope - and since I’m in my 50’s my fuller cheeks have dropped and my jawline is heavier, which I hate - I loved my more rounded cheeks, but I don’t have a round face. My head looks small (just realized that yesterday wearing a turbie towel, lol), which helps me understand why I always need to fix my hair to feel put together, no wash and wear for me, but the volume made me think my head was bigger than it is - and my hands are really small - short legs, longer torso, look terrible in long shirts - make my legs look really stubby - absolutely not a natural - all their effortless hair and makeup does nothing for me, plus my hair is too short and thin for that anyway. I wish I knew!
Theatrical romantic here. The ones I avoid are boyfriend, wide leg, baggy and flare. Boyfriend makes my short legs look even shorter, wide leg or baggy drowns me, flare looks great but too young for my age. My faves are high waisted slim and mom jeans.
I'd also hazard a guess that Capri jeans are great for Romantics and Gamines but a bad idea for Dramatics and Flamboyant Natural. Wouldn't know for the Classics and Soft Natural. I'm Dramatic family(somewhere between D & SD) and my favorite cut is somewhere between slim and mom jeans - my ideal pants are pegged pants, so any jeans I buy needs to mimic that cut.
I'm FN and I love the look of flared and wide leg jeans on others but on me they're ALWAYS too short 😭 I stick to skinny and straight as they look good "cropped" as well
Definitely stay on the hunt for flares and wide leg pants with a longer inseam! My partner is FN too and those styles looking AMAZING on her! All of hers are thrifted tho, so maybe try the secondhand market?
Hope this helps someone struggling, I dont avoid any jeans and i dont think anyone should avoid a certain style of jeans. Its more what the length is , what colour they are, what the rise is and what you style them with . I have wide leg , baggy jeans, straight leg , flare, bootcut , slim leg , and skinny . I make sure the slim leg, flare , bootcut , skinny rise just above my hips on my belly button and thats the perfect rise for me , any higher and it makes me look imbalanced. I have the straight , wide and baggy jeans mid rise and i feel this is best for me in these style if jeans and i make the length is long and goes over my ankles and this prevents them from looking wide on the ends and brings in that slouchy , chilled vibe. I also usually only wear slim/fitted tops that sit above the hip or cropped on the waist . A straight, wide or baggy jean looks great with a small, delicate top. In winter i wear narrow coats and jackets too. I always wear small rounded shoes , never anything wide or chunky. Pairing the jeabs wuth these little tops, coats and shoes balances the outfit, making sure your delicate structure isnt drowning .
as a short flamboyant gamine, tight narrow top + baggy/wide leg pants is my go-to! especially with a messy bun/ponytail and platform shoes (personally i love chunky sneakers) i feel like it makes me look taller and compliments my body. be careful not to get very intense wide leg pants or else it'll literally look like you're drowning. i like to wear crops with high waisted wide leg pants to seperate top half from bottom half and give a bit of edge and shape so that i don't get lost in my clothes
I love the baggy pants with cropped top look on FG’s. I can’t pull it off because I’m an SD, but I’ve noticed this look looks so natural on FGs, so I live vicariously through y’all.
Soft Dramatic, tall and narrow. I look best in high-waisted flares or wide-legs. I’d like to try high-waisted straights if I could find some. Skinny jeans are the worst for me
I have a hourglass shape (think I am in soft dramating range), but with a covid-19 belly right there, I find myself very comfortable and "at home" in wide trousers. I'll try find and buy mostly wide jeans. I don't like skinny anymore and I think wide trousers are a blessing, they look so cool on anyone!
Awesome guide as always! I've been considering picking up some wide jeans... I think I'll go for it :-) I'm "soft natural" and am thinking a bohemian floral top would balance with the wide leg. I refuse to go with the emerging low rise trend... already did that in high school (cringe!)
Yeah as a fellow SN, I agree that low rise is a no go for me! I think I will try the wide jeans too, I currently just have a pair of skinny jeans and a pair of flare jeans that I love but are way too long on me 😂. I feel like I have such a hard time finding jeans that are comfortable on my body and that flatter me. 🥺 I have seen a few other SN’s say the same thing. Wonder why!
I'm going to talk about soft naturals: skinny jeans vs slim. Yes knowing about what soft naturals need, usually fitting clothes but not too tight I would also say that slim jeans would look better than skinny. But I am soft natural, I have slim pants in different fabrics and for some reason they don't look good on us. At least on me. And I am a bit thick, so I wouldn't say that skinny jeans are the best option for me, but the definition of the legs of the skinny look better than the slightly wider slim. It's like the slim makes the leg look weird. I don't think it's only me, but to all soft naturals. On the top of our body yes, I would suggest wearing clothes not that tight. And the other kind of pants she says, yes I agree. Mom jeans look grrrrreat and straight look good too. I don't know about the slouchy ones, I haven't tried those but I think they will look good on us
Yeah as a SN, I have such a difficult time with jeans. I love flares on me, but I am so short I just gotta find some that aren’t too long. Skinny jeans so far are what I feel best in, though I still prefer dresses and those stretchy flare pants over jeans. I am not sure why, and I don’t know if it’s just me (though I have seen other SN’s comment the same thing), but I don’t find jeans particularly comfortable for my body. I still own a few pairs, but I think I will give the slim leg jeans a try! I am afraid to try slouchy, as I am a size 10 and like I said I am short so I worry about anything labeled “slouchy”...I guess we will see 😵
I agree it can be a bit tricky. Being short combined with having wider upper body means my top cant be too tight or restricted. This tends to rule out wide cuts. I personally love mom jeans and straight. They also have to be semi-fitted so I don’t lose my shape. Im a fan of madewells perfect vintage jeans and would recommend that for other smaller SNs to try.
5’7” plus size 16 soft natural ~ love dark washed boot cut jeans and wide leg white frayed cuff jeans. Was going to try some baggy fit jeans but I see what you were saying about looking stocky.
Soft natural here as well! I find baggy/ roomy jeans work best when they are high and fitted at the waist, so mom jeans that are very generous in the hip and leg, or even balloon jeans. I have some of my mothers pants from the 80's that just look so right on a soft natural. Dark wash boot cut is awesome on us!
For SN’s, there is a RUclipsr named “Gemary Ermus” who I think fits nicely for SN style. There was one video in particular about her favorite jeans and I think most of the recommendations or the examples she shows are great for SN’s. (However if someone could find an alternative to those hefty prices I’d be grateful lol)
@@samanthamartin1407 I think SN is better match for her. She doesn't look too elongated and her curves are prominent. Edit: Or maybe You are right. I just watched her photos and she doesn't look so curvy and soft like in the videos. I would probably say she is pure N (I know it doesn't exist anymore in Kibbe system.)
I’ve always had the horrendous problem with jeans where they lose their shape and size after a few hours of wearing them! It’s like they melt off of me, and they melt even more after I wash them. Does anyone have any advice on how to be able to maintain the structural integrity of their jeans? Or am I the only person on earth whose jeans betray them like this? Thanks in advance!
Hey there, I work in retail and sell jeans everday. What you describe is very common for 100% cotton jeans (real denim). I always advice my customers to size down one size, if possible (so they fit slightly too tight when trying on). Other than that maybe try jeans with elastane in it (they tend to keep their shape more)? Also try to cut down on washing your jeans, it really destroys the fiber in the long run and makes them looser with time. (If they are not stained you can put them in a bag into your freezer to destroy any smell). Hope, that helped a bit! :)
@@angelaluciano2014 so jeans that are cotton plus elastain should maintain their shape? It’s so frustrating how they begin to expand within 30 mins of wearing them. I’ll definitely be washing my future jeans (if I find any that actually stay on me) on cold and delicate and then air drying them.
@@winxclubstellamusa yes, exactly. It seems counterintuitive, but the elastane (1-2% most of the time) keeps the fabric "bouncy" to a certain extend meanwhile prohibiding it from loosening up too much, if that makes sence. The 100% cotton denim instead, widens itself with movement and body temperature and stays in this state until the next wash. But as I said, washing your jeans is not necessary all the time (even not with cold setting). you can go weeks without washing your denim, if its not majorly dirty or stained. I recommend to take time with trying on each and every jeans (have them on for a couple of minutes) and asking the staff for help and advice, cause every brand is different in cuts and sizes. And also the different washes/colours can have an effect on the sizing. Denim is a wohle sience, lol. Good luck!
@@angelaluciano2014 so you wouldn’t recommend something that’s closer to 20% elastaine? And thank you so much for this info! I’ve been searching for years. I haven’t worn denim in 10 years because of how frustrated I’ve been.
@@winxclubstellamusa you'r very welcome! :) The thing with elastane is (although very comfi, and I get the appeal of that), it has an effect on the look of the jeans. 1-2% is fine look wise, but if the percentage gets higher, often times it comes with a more "cheap" look, imo. But that's of course very subjective. Me personally, I like 100% cotton jeans better, cause they look more refined and substantial to me. But i will admit, it takes longer to find the perfect fit and size with them. And 100% cotton will never feel as flexibel and comfi as the elastane mixes do (at least in the more body huging fits), but im okay with that.
Soft natural here who wears a bunch of skinny ripped jeans lol. I've fallen into the trap of buying them too tight sometimes which is even worse when they have rips (then it looks like my legs are suffocating). That's something I learned after getting into kibbe is to stop buying super tight clothing. I'm scared to touch any type of loose jeans (even the mom ones because I am against high waisted jeans lol). I think flared jeans looks so nice I might try them. Thanks for the videos. I really like a lot of these recommendations.
I'm a soft classic and I totally think skinny jeans work so well on the soft classic body type. I have always found skinny jeans to be comfortable and flattering, and not finicky or hard to style like baggier jeans!
I'm pretty sure I'm DC and I've always found 7/8 length slim-fit trousers and jeans the most flattering on me. After lockdown left me with a bit of a belly, I thought I'd try some more 'forgiving' styles and I found 'mom' jeans work really well too, as long as they're not too baggy and I turn them up so my ankle is showing. Baggy/wide-leg/bootcut/flares make me look stunted 😧
Soft Dramatic and the one style I find to be super unflattering is true straight leg, like without any slight taper or flare at the bottom. Just totally blocky and does nothing. From the comments it seems like some other soft/rounded types have the same experience
Im hyped of this system! Its seems so non-discriminating and appreciative of the beauty in every one and all physical aspects...instead of following this one beauty standard!😍
As a dramatic I mostly wear flared and straight jeans. Baggy and wide jeans can be too slouchy for me. And skinny make look my legs thinner(they are already so thin so I dont like how it looks with skinny). Thanks for the video
Hey Aly, would you consider making a body-type system that actually works? Seeing how Kibbe keeps re-typing celebrities, not giving any straight answers in his cult-like group, I feel like you are much more trusted to actually make a system that works for women. Many of us need help
You are so wonderful, Aly. Thank you so much for all your advice, delivered in your sweet voice. I’m a Soft Dramatic … but remember some of us SDs are thin! (like Shalom Harlow) … it can be challenging to find the right balance of clothes that work with our curves and larger bone structure (like head!) but we are still tall and elongated. So stuff that works on Dramatics or FNs don’t really work on us.
I'm a romantic and I hate ankle length jeans on myself. I have a black skinny jeans and a blue mom jeans (both high waist) and in both of them my legs look short and so wide, when I roll them up... I only wear regular length since I'm a teen and I always wondered why that is.
I am a flamboyant natural. I love baggy jeans. anything super wide. I love flare jeans as well, and mum jeans. I love high waisted jeans. I think for me it’s more about that i love that the fabric isn’t glued to my body and it makes everything look more relaxed which i love.
I really preferer this video formula: reviewing many fits and types of clothing (in this case, jeans) in the context of kibbe type, instead of just going through kibbe dos and donts. This is more modern, accurate and interesting.
I‘m pretty sure I‘m a SN with short legs and strong thighs. I look best in high waisted slim jeans, but I also wear slim mom jeans and wide leg. All high waisted and full length. I look terrible in anything ankle hitting, ripped, flared or boot cut. Actually I tend to wear everything for soft classic instead of soft natural even though I clearly have width on top
As a soft dramatic I think skinny jeans are the way to go for me. I've tried straight leg and wide leg jeans but they always make me look too straight and cancel out my hips. The only skinny jeans I can wear though are of a medium wash to dark wash high waisted🤷🏻♀️
Me too! I'm also SD and it's very "either or" for me, a straight leg or anything medium sized doesn't work, but skinny or a wide bootcut/flare does, especially with shoes in the same colour to avoid breaking up the line. I bet an extreme wide leg look if the waist is really high and the fabric stiff could work as well, but I haven't found anything like that.
@@user-qp6lj6gu7s yes that's me to. I actually like flared but I live in a warm climate and sandals don't go with wide leg. Maybe if I got platforms but I'm already 5'8 and I fall in higher shoes. It's like a baby giraffe trying to walk🤣
I’m not sure about my body type, but I love on me mid/high waisted flared jeans ❤️ high waisted mom and wide jeans with something more fitted on top to balance it. I don’t thing boyfriend jeans look good on me because of the low crotch..
Ankle length skinny jeans Slim jeans Mom jeans (if delicate and narrow) Cigarette pant style High waste/ankle length For me, I don’t do boot cut because I’m only 4’10 so even petite sizes are long on me and drag. The ones listed above for my type, that you recommended are basically my preferred pants styles anyway, so yeah me!! Thank you. :) (Notes left for me when reviewing this video)
I’m a gamine and you’re definitely right about wider leg pants making us look stocky. I’ve tried many pairs on and they never look right. I always wear a slim straight leg, cigarette pants or a skinny Jean. Even though more baggy pants are in style, I still wear slimmer.
I'm an older millennial, and very very stuck on flares. Once they became popular to my knowledge sometime around my start of high school, that was it. I've never owned a skinny jean. Now I'm 5 months pregnant, starting to show, and I fear I must embrace a tapered ankle, to have a narrow point. It's such an odd hangup. I need help. Likely SN.
Also a millennial. I hate low rise and flared jeans ,they trigger fashion trauma from middle school lmao. I loved when skinny high waisted because a thing. I am a R

Love your channel and have taken away many great ideas from your advice. I find it hard to pick a jean style now. I was def. a Natural but have gained weight in the belly and thighs. Would i still look for jeans for a Natural? I wish you could use someone other than Jennifer Aniston for almost all the Natural examples so we can see different bodies and personal styles. Thank you for your detailed videos!
Hilary Duff is a SN, and she wears lots of jeans! Maybe Google her style or outfits 😇 she sometimes goes out of her “SN lines”, but for the most part she dresses very SN and her outfits are amazing
slim tapered high waist mom jeans are the best jeans i’ve ever worn as a romantic. I had a pair of light wash vintage calvin kleins that i wore religiously until they got ruined one day at the park, i haven’t been able to find a replica since but good lord the compliments i would get with them on everywhere i went 😂
Thank you so much for making this video I watched it in November because i discovered that i'm romantic and I wanted to buy stuff that fit me because nothing honours my body in my wardrobe I watched this video and I bought a perfect pair of trousers and it fits me perfectly I felt so happy and confident for the first time So thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️
I dress FG with fleshy thighs but I love wide leg and baggy! I did not want to give them up for skinny jeans in the 2010s, I desperately clutched the boys section until they went skinny too! I do wear them, as youve mentioned, with a fitted top
I’m also a TR and an hourglass shape, I prefer mom jeans and trousers along that shape (high waisted only) because they flatter my figure better than any of the straighter cuts. Skinny jeans also look great, but I’m really thin so most don’t really fit me right.
Thanks for the video! As a soft gamine, I really like high-waisted mom jeans with an ankle length and made out of a thin material. The worst look for me would probably be a distressed baggy pant or very exaggerated flares.
My favorite jeans types are skinny, slim and mom jeans. I like straight, bootcut, flared and wide leg too, but I think they don’t suit me. I’m a Soft Natural 🤗
A high-waist, dark wash bootcut can look great on a soft natural, I like them because they are easy to pair with all kinds of shoes. Another one you might like is the balloon jeans, it's like a mom jean but with even more room for the hips and thighs, so comfy!
@@emmamemma4162 I have bootcut jeans in my wardrobe, I still wear them, but I think a tapered fit at the bottom suit me more 🤔 Yes, I have balloon jeans with paperbag waist, they are soooo cool and comfy 🤩 Thank you for your suggestions 🤗
Can you do a video on down playing your features without looking horrible? I’m a theatrical romantic, and those outfits look good… too good if you get what mean. When I’m not wearing my lines, I can feel frumpy and sad. How do I find a happy middle where I look nice but not too sexy for everyday?
Ok, so most of the people I've asked classify me as a pure D, but my favourite jeans are actually washed-out black high-waisted full-length narrow mom jeans (that was a mouthful). I like that they add some curve at the bottom to balance my rather broad shoulders, and that they emphasize my waist. On the other hand, they shorten my torso, which is not great, as it is already short. I 'cheat' by wearing a contrasting wide belt, closer in colour to the top I'm wearing.
I must be too small for wide leg jeans cus i tried them on today and God i was swimming but i was in love with the boyfriend jean. Maybe with roomy jeans i need to go down 2-3 sizes 🤔.
love you videos 1st time commenting .. I'm a flam,, gamine and hav a short torso more of a rectangle shape so I need to use low waisted jeans what do u think of this? thank you for all your knowledge I really appreciate it xxx
Hi Aly, I have followed you for a long time. Thanks for your knowledge in fashion and body tips. I would love it if you release an episode about hats for each head/face shapes and body types. I struggle to find the right hat for my round face and big head 🥲 and don't have enough money to buy and try and find the right one 🥲 P/s: I find that the beret looks good on me but I can't always wear a beret with every outfit 😂 I wear a lot kind of styles tbh
Thanks Aly. As usual, your videos are helpful, informative, and you cut to the chase. As a soft gamine I have a question thatI have not found an answer to. I am 157 cm (5’2”). My upper and lower body are quite proportionate, so my legs are average. My upper body though has a long rise and short waist, and to top things up I am quite busty (34 E). My arms are short. Moderate waist (like a classic), and hips would be so where in between natural and classic. When I wear high rise jeans, the make my buttocks look long and flat, and they make my torso look somewhat squished. But when I wear mid or low rise jeans they make a muffin top. How do I work with these proportions? Any suggestions? Btw slim and bootcut have always been my favourite jeans. I also had a pair of wide jeans that looked great, but it had a wide waistband and were quite fitted at the hips.
Skinny Jeans look best on me! I really think that I'm a SG and straight leg and boyfriend looks awful on me. I really want to wear the baggy or cropped straight legs I see in the younger generation but it's not working out.
I'm a SN and the I only own skinny jeans. Back when I was a teenager, any jeans apart from skinny were laughed at by my peers. It scarred me a little and I'm literally afraid of trying out any other style, especially that I have pretty muscular legs. I feel like an absolute idiot wearing flare, they make me look stocky and wide. I'd really appreciate some styling tips.
Same here, mine are also muscular. I think I'm sn and i have only skinny slim fit jeans. Video says that mom jeans could be good, but they don't look too good on me (i feel they're still too baggy) :)
SN here too, I also prefer skinny jeans. I've tried other ones too and own flared and bootcut ones, but I really do think skinny ones are the best even though they make the butt REALLY stand out, kind of too much. :D I would give this advice: If you wear flared or bootcut, then it's best to wear a fairly narrow top, so your whole silhouette is kind of slim and your waist somewhat defined. If you wear skinny jeans, then wear a loose top. It's more about the whole outfit, like Aly says in the video.
Yeah also a SN here and I find mom jeans to be the MOST unflattering style for me. I have a pair of black skinny jeans, but since I am bottom heavy I am not sure they truly flatter me best. I find jeans uncomfortable for my body (not like the fabric or material, but just the way they sit on my body no matter what style I try...so far skinny jeans seem to be most comfortable). I want to try a pair of like slim fit jeans...maybe ones with slightly frayed bottom hem. I had a pair once that don’t fit me anymore, but I remember how good they made me feel. I would recommend looking at pictures of Hilary Duff (don’t know if I spelled her first name correctly lol), she’s a SN and she looks amazing not only in most of her outfits, but she wears a lot of jeans!!!!!
Hi! Thanks for your videos, they are really very helpful. I have a suggestion for you: could you maybe make a video on Euphoria characters, their Kibbe types and maybe talk a little about their style choices according to body types? That would be very interesting
I'm an FG, but have an extremely short torso. While only being 5'2" my inseam is 32". It is very hard to find the right kind of pants to balance the extreme juxtaposition between leg length and short torso, all while being physically "petite". What would you recommend for someone with that type ?
Hi Ally Art! Thank you for this three videos about jeans, they were very informative and tidy presented. You have made video about glasses for body types, which was nice. It would be amazing with a following up video on that theme, focusing on different sunglasses for the different body types! And maybe a historical video about sunglasses as well, would be amazing!
I love your videos and I’m still trying to find my body type as I feel in in between. I would love to see you categorize the euphoria girls, specifically Alexia demie. I have a very similar body type to her and would love to see where you’d place her in the Kibbe system
Hey Aly! Can you please do a "summer fashion for the body types" video? As a TR I'm very lost with which type of sandals I can wear. Can TRs ever wear anything casual that isn't tight and sexy??
I can NEVER figure out my Kibbe type!!! Can someone help? Proportions: 5ft7" Long torso Short legs I'm slightly overweight. I gain weight evenly all over, fleshy, especially in the face. Medium size bust in proportion with the rest of my body. 10" size difference between waist and hips. Face: Softly squared. Medium size nose, rounded tip. Almond eyes, slightly hooded. Medium full lips. Soft chin, defined jawline. I always thought I had big bones but Kibbe has me questioning this now lol
I struggle with jeans 😫 I feel like bootcuts are a safe bet. I just did the body type video and had 6Cs and 7Ds, only 1 e, b, and a, so I think I’m soft classic/romantic?

Thank you!
Bless you.
Ally i just wanted to tell you that ive been an insecure girl before i discovered Kibbe through YOU and i have to say ive never felt prettier and more confident as i always thought i looked like a 12 year old boy ( as a FG) but now i cut myself short straight bangs and a short bob and i feel like a woman now
THANK YOU SOOO MUCH for making me feel good about myself😍❤❤❤😚
I love that ♡

@@SexiSchnitzel thank you 🤗
Lots of love from Brussels ❤😚
I really like FGs
If I wasn't R I would like to be one the gamines
yaaaaaaay!!! so happy for you
Please do wedding dresses for body types ☺️☺️☺️
Omg I love this idea!!! 💫
Most anticipated video! Especially this season that there are so many styles in the stores! Thank you Aly!
I'm romantic and VERY fleshy (I am at a healthy BMI but the FLESHINESS ughhh) and you're right about skinny jeans! People think they should work for me, but some make my legs look like short sausages!! I like a thicker material nowadays and more straight or at least slim.
I am also a R but they sit well on me because I have slim knees and calves.
Trick as us romantics is that we have to buy clothes that just fit. Not too tight, not too loose
@@amylovemyart Exactly! 😁
I had people buy me clothes as presents and I had to try them on so they would understand that I'm not exaggerating or being fussy when I'm saying they don't fit properly.
Same. I prefer my skinny jeans high waisted
Also allows for much higher waisted jeans, which are much more flattering on me
Everything is better tailored to your body
I also think proportions are important, I personally despise high waist because I am petite with long legs and short torso, since this is the trend nowadays, I have stopped wearing jeans because I can’t find a proper mid rise (with wide waist cut) and straight cut.
agreed! I'm petite as well, but my legs and upper body have the same porpotion, so I love high waist!
High waist isn’t the trend any more it’s actually low waist and mid rise
@@cheetodust745 I still see high rise everywhere. That trend change is not catching up in stores yet at all.
@@di3486 I guess it depends on where you live
Fellow SN here! I also find jeans hard for my body type and I only own two pairs...one of which fits me correctly LOL. I just can’t seem to find what really works for me and then I feel like hey are never comfortable.
I wish for each type you’d choose one celeb example for each and pick one Jean look that worked for them and one that didn’t so we can compare on the same person :)
That’s an amazing idea
I am a R and I only wear skinny jeans. They look amazing as long as they are the right size, high waisted and the hem is right at my ankle.
I’m flamboyant natural and am loving barrel shaped jeans lately. I like straight and mom jeans too.
Yes! Glad they are becoming more common. Skinny jeans are hard for me
Theatrical romantic here. The ones I avoid are boyfriend, wide leg, baggy and flare. Boyfriend makes my short legs look even shorter, wide leg or baggy drowns me, flare looks great but too young for my age. My faves are high waisted slim and mom jeans.
The way I’ve been anxiously anticipating this video all week. So ready
Right on time 👍 SC here. Slim, boot cut, straight solid colours without rips are my faves.
As a FN, you nailed every aspect that I was unsure about or was feeling problematic. Thank you!!! ♥
Thank you Aly! Love love your post
@@Androgynary Thanks for the tip! I'll keep an eye out for it for sure!
How tall are you? I’m 5’8” and had good luck with flare jeans from Express
I just want to say thank you for your contribution to humanity! I'm not exaggerating. ❤ these short and to the point videos are so helpful.
as a short flamboyant gamine, tight narrow top + baggy/wide leg pants is my go-to! especially with a messy bun/ponytail and platform shoes (personally i love chunky sneakers) i feel like it makes me look taller and compliments my body. be careful not to get very intense wide leg pants or else it'll literally look like you're drowning. i like to wear crops with high waisted wide leg pants to seperate top half from bottom half and give a bit of edge and shape so that i don't get lost in my clothes
I think I'll go for it :-)
I'm "soft natural" and am thinking a bohemian floral top would balance with the wide leg.
Wonder why!
Just bring midrise back!!! Why is so hard to make common sense trendy?
WINNING!!! Thank You! This is a class act video!
I am afraid to try slouchy, as I am a size 10 and like I said I am short so I worry about anything labeled “slouchy”...I guess we will see 😵
@@travelandlaughs9281 yes!!! I feel the same. Jeans are kind of uncomfortable! Try slim and then come back here and tell me your thoughts, please!
Slim looks great on me as a SN and I also love bootcut. Haven’t tried mom jeans yet.
I love how you structured this information, Aly!!
Gemary is 5'8, so she's actually FN!!
@@lenka156 She is tall, so automatically vertical dominant, and doesn't have yin Kibbe curve
@@samanthamartin1407 I see it now, but I don't think, she is elongated enough to be FN.

Could you build a jeans and t-shirt outfit for each body type… maybe from Nordstrom? I would love that!
Hey there,
I work in retail and sell jeans everday.
The thing with elastane is (although very comfi, and I get the appeal of that), it has an effect on the look of the jeans.
Your recommendations for gamines are spot on, although I had to figure that out through trial and error. 😅
Nails for the body types!!
I am a flamboyant natural. I love baggy jeans. anything super wide. I love flare jeans as well, and mum jeans. I love high waisted jeans. I think for me it’s more about that i love that the fabric isn’t glued to my body and it makes everything look more relaxed which i love.
Thank you! It was very interesting and helpful video 🙂❤
What a detailed clarification 🙂
Thank you Aly! Natural. I like distressed straight-leg jeans! Fun video!
I really preferer this video formula: reviewing many fits and types of clothing (in this case, jeans) in the context of kibbe type, instead of just going through kibbe dos and donts. This is more modern, accurate and interesting.
Very helpful video, thanks!
So true. Flamboyant natural, full length w regular or low waist
SDs Best jeans- Slim, straight, bootcut & mom. Wide and flared depends on the styling
Awesome video! Please please do wedding dresses! 💕
Hello! Does anybody know what she means about “delicate jeans”? What exactly are “delicate jeans”? ☺️ 11:04
Ankle length skinny jeans
Slim jeans
Mom jeans (if delicate and narrow)
Cigarette pant style
High waste/ankle length
For me, I don’t do boot cut because I’m only 4’10 so even petite sizes are long on me and drag.
The ones listed above for my type, that you recommended are basically my preferred pants styles anyway, so yeah me!!
Thank you. :)
(Notes left for me when reviewing this video)
that was faboulous video Aly. plz more like this for all clothes pieces
I’m a gamine and you’re definitely right about wider leg pants making us look stocky. I’ve tried many pairs on and they never look right. I always wear a slim straight leg, cigarette pants or a skinny Jean. Even though more baggy pants are in style, I still wear slimmer.
Thank you for this info! I suggest to my fellow TR’s don’t try denim overalls… worst thing I ever tried to pull off imo.

Thank you so much for making this video
I watched it in November because i discovered that i'm romantic and I wanted to buy stuff that fit me because nothing honours my body in my wardrobe
I watched this video and I bought a perfect pair of trousers and it fits me perfectly I felt so happy and confident for the first time
So thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️
I dress FG with fleshy thighs but I love wide leg and baggy! I did not want to give them up for skinny jeans in the 2010s, I desperately clutched the boys section until they went skinny too! I do wear them, as youve mentioned, with a fitted top
Thank you! As a TR I have no clue what to do about jeans and pants! They never fit right
I’m also a TR and an hourglass shape, I prefer mom jeans and trousers along that shape (high waisted only) because they flatter my figure better than any of the straighter cuts. Skinny jeans also look great, but I’m really thin so most don’t really fit me right.
I love watching your videos
Thanks for the video! As a soft gamine, I really like high-waisted mom jeans with an ankle length and made out of a thin material. The worst look for me would probably be a distressed baggy pant or very exaggerated flares.
Dramatic I love flares and bootcut
My favorite jeans types are skinny, slim and mom jeans. I like straight, bootcut, flared and wide leg too, but I think they don’t suit me. I’m a Soft Natural 🤗
A high-waist, dark wash bootcut can look great on a soft natural, I like them because they are easy to pair with all kinds of shoes. Another one you might like is the balloon jeans, it's like a mom jean but with even more room for the hips and thighs, so comfy!

Can you do a video on down playing your features without looking horrible?
I’m a theatrical romantic, and those outfits look good… too good if you get what mean. When I’m not wearing my lines, I can feel frumpy and sad. How do I find a happy middle where I look nice but not too sexy for everyday?
The best I’ve come up with on my own is to wear more SN or SC lines/outfits but that’s not great
Ok, so most of the people I've asked classify me as a pure D, but my favourite jeans are actually washed-out black high-waisted full-length narrow mom jeans (that was a mouthful).
Yaasss! Finally 👏👏❤❤
That's the video I was waiting for 😊

Hi Aly, please clarify, when you say "delicate and narrow", do you refer to garment or body shape? I'm G, not sure yet which one. Thanks.
Thank you very much, Aly.
This was incredibly helpful, thanks a lot Aly!! :)
Thank you for this 😍❤️❤️
Skinny jeans changed my life even before I knew about the body types! Glad to know they fit romantics.
@@xxyxx6885 Yep, mom jeans definitely don't suit me either, the fabric is usually way too thick and makes me look thick too. :D
I have big bust I’m 5”2 and usually wear skinny high rise ankle jeans
Is the best jeans for a dramatic classic a high raise or mid waist ?
I love your videos and I’m still trying to find my body type as I feel in in between. I would love to see you categorize the euphoria girls, specifically Alexia demie. I have a very similar body type to her and would love to see where you’d place her in the Kibbe system
Hey Aly! Can you please do a "summer fashion for the body types" video? As a TR I'm very lost with which type of sandals I can wear. Can TRs ever wear anything casual that isn't tight and sexy??
I can NEVER figure out my Kibbe type!!! Can someone help?
Proportions:
5ft7"
Long torso
Short legs
I'm slightly overweight. I gain weight evenly all over, fleshy, especially in the face. Medium size bust in proportion with the rest of my body. 10" size difference between waist and hips.
Face:
Softly squared. Medium size nose, rounded tip.
Almond eyes, slightly hooded. Medium full lips. Soft chin, defined jawline.
I always thought I had big bones but Kibbe has me questioning this now lol
Sounds like you might be a theatrical romantic
I struggle with jeans 😫 I feel like bootcuts are a safe bet. I just did the body type video and had 6Cs and 7Ds, only 1 e, b, and a, so I think I’m soft classic/romantic?
