    Watching your videos, I've learned a new term... "Scaler". (I've been out of the Hobby for over 15 years)
    It seems that it's very much like what I've been doing in Model Railroading, for almost 40 years! The high level of detail in a R/C car really intrigues me. Now I REALLY want a Scorcher! 😀
    BTW, just wondering, why couldn't you just cut the whole boot lid off? Many real Baja Bugs are that way, for about the same reason. 😉

      @2stroke4me  7 лет назад +1

      This buggy sort of introduced me into "scaling" aswell. Normally i drive them around, race them or make an "adventurous" video about them. Model railroads is also one of my other hobbies, but that's also set aside (N-scale). Very enjoyable but time consuming hobby.
      I could've cut it off. That's what i did with my other Scorcher. But somehow it looks awkward, it exposes the transmission box. I left it as it is and will make some different air filters for it.

      I can now see where removing the whole boot would make things all too visible! It may take longer than I thought to get me a Scorcher..... $280-300 US for the redux. It'll have to wait. I may go NUTZ when I can get one, and build a fuel injection system for it!

      Unfortunately it's an expensive hobby. But the satisfaction of building and driving it makes one forget all about it :-)

    • @CarmineRC
      @CarmineRC 7 лет назад

      True on both counts! I don't remember it being so expensive back in the day - then I remembered that I had a LOT more disposable income back then.
      So, what's your take on a fuel injection system for Baja? Many racers down here in Southern Arizona are running fuelie 412 and Vanagon engines! if I knew ANYTHING about CAD/CAM, I'd design some cool Tuned Port system, with snake plumbing that would clear the "1/4 boot" on the stock Beetle body?
      I forgot to get on the software geek bandwagon in the 90's, and ended up far behind the curve of computer savvy people! At least there is an online store, where all I have to do is click "buy now"!!!! 😁 👍
      I'll remember to be patient. New items are being created all the time!

      I know what you mean. The last couple of years have been particularly bad as far as the economy and incomes are concerned. But life's about ups and downs, i'm sure the ups are coming eventually!
      The Vanagon engine (we in Europe call the Vanagon Transporter or Caravelle) idea sounds great! I see the potential of putting such an engine in a Baja. They have a nice power output, especially for a Bug :-)
      I remember when i left school, the year after, my school started teaching computer lessons. Missed the bandwagon too. Luckily the use of a computer has been made much more accessible.
      If i knew then what i know now.....
