@@colossalbigfoot256 Thanks for subscribing! At the moment my camera is broken, so it'll take a while before i'll upload videos again. But i'm taking photos of the progress and edit those into a video. I know what you mean, maintaining a channel takes some time. But you get to show your creations to the rest of the world!
Man this is fantastic, thank you very much for sharing your build on this engine, this will help my son-in-law and I a bunch as we are both building a Sand Scorcher, this will be my first rc car kit build, i have built over 80 planes in the last 8 years but never a car, thanks again my friend, Terry
You're welcome but please take note that the engine does not come with the Tamiya kit. It's made by a company called "Shapeways" (www.shapeways.com/search?q=sand+scorcher&type=). I've made a couple of tutorials about how to paint and install this engine. It had a couple of flaws since it was their first engine for an RC car but they've improved it and even made different engines along with several other parts for the Sand Scorcher and other Tamiya cars. Sounds like you have a lot of experience and 2 right hands! Tamiya kits are a pleasure to build and the instruction manual is an example of how instrucion manuals should be, so you should have a great time building! Thanks for watching my friend!
Thank you buddy my sunday started off nicely by watching your cool little bug as I lay in bed deciding do I get up or stay here. That engine is awesome matey
Hi, sorry for the late reply. Here's the link of the company that makes the engine (and many other parts): www.shapeways.com/marketplace/tech/rc-cars/?q=&sort=popularity&facet%5BpdcId%5D%5B%5D=633&tag=SRB
Hello again, i have a question, my son-in-law and i have both purchased the Sand Scorcher as i had mentioned before, anyway wondering what battery you are using, we bought our's at Tower Hobbies and in the tech notes it say Tamyia recommends a 7.4v 1200 Mah Lipo batt so that is what we bought, in the manual it says the esc is rated at 6.6v to 7.2v input, when we plug in the 7.4 Lipo it burns out the receiver so we are just wondering if they are wrong about using the 7.4 Lipo, anyway if you don't mind letting us know what batt you are using on yours. Thank you, Terry
Luvtoflyhelis if ur using a stock esc then tamiya reccomends that u use a humpback nimh battery or a LIFE battery. The power of a lipo may also make u more likely to damage the chassis. Remember that it was originally designed in 1979 and therefore not expected to cope with the power of modern batteries. Sorry thats probably not that helpful to you. I reccomend you get a humpback nimh as youd not have to worry about battery cut off settings therefore less headaches
Push rod tubes were a nice addition. Now imagine building this in 1-64 scale.. yeah I’m doing that lol. Great looking scorcher
Guess what i'm doing at the moment to an Edocar Baja Bug ;-)
Thanks for the compliment mate!
2stroke4me like to see. You insta?
@@colossalbigfoot256 I don't have instagram, but i'll make a video once it's done.
2stroke4me cool. I subbed so I could check out. I get into modding pretty extensively but have no time to maintain a channel.
