I loved this on MyCrossword ! Tim really writes great clues, clever and witty. 9a was a particular fave. Agree it was really top-notch Tim, please keep them coming
I think 26a uses about as an anagram indicator, so it's see dr (about/jumbled up) then an "a" for redse a. All in all a very nice puzzle. Unsure of the def for yacht on 4d and don't understand cons either in 23d.
Blown away by these surfaces. Such an enjoyable episode, thank you both
Thanks TPG.
Thanks Anthony! Yes - this was a brilliant puzzle - so much fun to solve. Huge credit to Tim :)

I agree completely, Kate! :)

Correct on 26a @und3rgroundman.
Thanks! I've since been told that Con is an archaic word for study - and a staple of Cryptics. So one to remember!
A great solve. I can't believe you struggled with *Con,* its an absolute staple of cryptic crossword.
Thank you! Funnily enough it has escaped me until now. I'll make sure I remember it for the future :)
Came across this crossword a month ago. Brilliant. 👏
It is a fantastic puzzle isn't it!
Blow you away - sailing yacht - sails need wind to work?
Yes, that's it! Thank you for the explanation :)
Con is an archaic term for study. It means learn by heart. Pretty obscure though
Thank you! I've since been told it's used a lot in Cryptics. It was a new one for me - but one for the memory banks now :)
