I clean all of my machines and I am glad I watched this one. I would have freaked if I got that message, so thanks for showing everyone. I feel if someone has a machine they need to know how to service it too so I hope a lot of people watch this video it is well done.
Thank you for the tutorial, especially setting up the machine to display an error message. I'm about to clean the race on my SE600 for the first time, so this is very helpful.
Thank you! I was able to use the same steps on my PE800 to get a needle that broke off and then the rest fell in. I wasn’t given the small metal piece for the face plate screw but a quarter worked just the same!
Thanks for showing the procedures for the maintenance of the brother SE600 as you may not always have the funds available to pay someone else to do it for you. So this means that people need to familiarise themselves with minor issues which will arise from time to time?
Great video! I wish i’d have found it before I adjusted my bobbin tension and put it back together wrong and thought I’d broken my brand new machine! 🙈 I’ll check for the white dots next time 👍🏻
Hey great vid! I actually read on some other videos that using an air gun isn’t really that good because it pushes the dust & stuff in more causing more issues, I saw a couple ppl co-sign I’ve never tried it myself but someone also said they put a straw on their vacuum and used that! Ha
What else could be causing the red right. I took it apart like you did but nothing was there but still continue to get the red light. Great video by the way
Thank you! You cured my urge to oil mine -was squeaking somewhere around the bobbin. Cleaned it and squeak is gone! Still drives me nuts these things don't "need" to be oiled by us. That is just ...weird.
@@adubbproductions Now I have another issue. I could hand sew faster than it is sewing. Its done this before, then KABOOM< it will speed up. Its driving me insane.
I can't help you take the machine apart to get thread out. I would say take it to an authoried sewing machine repair shop. If its working fine though I personally would just leave it there.
Hi! I have brother se630 machine.Recently I’ve been getting the message “check and rethread upper thread” and the thread by my needle looks like this. If I go and rethread the upper thread and the bobbin it works fine for a little bit. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Thank you!
Wouldn't removing the face plate negate your warranty? I have taken other of my machines apart and had to pull thread out of the feed dogs(stompy thingy) .Its tricky geting it all back together but it can be done. I would contact brother or consult the manual when troubleshooting. Brother has very good customer service so ask them first.
Good advise. I think maybe it might I’m pretty sure it would but the alternative is having a machine that isn’t working sitting there collecting dust because it’s to expensive to mail the machine out wait for weeks for them to clean it out and send it back and pay that huge bill. Unless you have a authorized dealer near you. I don’t have one. Good point. Plus they provide the tools to remove it so it kinda seems encouraging to do a small clean out.
I read that you don’t have to oil the machine it’s done at the factory and does not need to be done by the consumer. I’ve had my se600 for about two years now and it’s never been services. I have however taken off the top plate and cleaned it out. I have a video on taking off the plate on the se600.
Looking for a vid on cleaning the top thread area. There's one vid for brothers, but doesn't resemble the 600's innards.. getting looping, tension wheel isn't responding (set from 9 to 0, same results) so it's completely ignoring top tension. Quite possibly some debris in there as I had some shredding earlier, thought I got it all out, apparently not. I am able to tug through some thread while the foot is down, it should technically be pulling (bending) the needle as I pull, which it isn't. Anyone have a how-to? EDIT: wait lol as I type this, I think I found the issue... there's some thread wedged between some wheel. Gonna try my tweezers. If it works (gotta sew another Kirby patch) I'll edit and say I fixed it.
Kavya. Never ever pull on the thread while the foot is down. You are destroying your tension wheels. Thread is stick between the wheels because you are pulling on the thread while the wheels are engaged. Lift the foot up to disengage the tension wheels. I had a video cleaning the se600. I would advise you to take your machine to a professional though. Just incase you like to take a stab at it. Here is my video. ruclips.net/video/DPyHh66GoGw/видео.html
If you can’t I unscrew the upper plate then you can’t get the needle out. You have to unscrew the upper plate to get it out. If you can’t they you need to contact a shop in your area that fixes sewing machines.
I like that video it was very helpful keep up the good work everything will be alright do you have an email address I would like to email you some questions can you let me know thank you have a blessed and wonderful day
He mentioned to spray the dust cleaner removal in it and occur there is a brush that comes with the machine. I use dust off made by falcon but there are many others out there. Hope this is helpful.

I just broke my needle and it went straight down into the machine. I found your video, and now I'm up and running again. Thanks!

I really appreciate this video and all the tips!
No problem. Thank you for watching.
Don't forget the two white dots must match together on the bobbin case and bobbin base. MATCH THE WHITE DOTS!
See, Look at that. Im still learning. Im like, what white dots. Thanks im gonna look at that today.
Thanks for the video. I usually have trouble getting the needle back in. My Brother is a different model but very similar in the bobbin area.
Much needed video. Much appreciated! Thank you.
Your welcome no problem. Thank you for watching.
Thanks; I have an SE 400 and it was past time for maintenance.

@@adubbproductions Now I have another issue. I could hand sew faster than it is sewing. Its done this before, then KABOOM< it will speed up. Its driving me insane.
I had a thread break at the number 5 loop and it’s stuck in machine. I’m still able to sew but I can see it’s still in there....how do I fix that?

What program are you using to digitize your files?
Brother PE Design 10

@@adubbproductions ok thanks
I purchase from US and now I am in India
Do you know anything about a malfunction. It keeps telling me to turn my machine off and back on.
If it keeps saying that after you turned it off and back on again I would contact the manufacturer for further assistance.
I had to do that a few times. LOL But got it done!

You need to take off the words when you speak we cant see
The flat side of the needle goes to the back not the front.
Correct. Couldn’t put it in the opposite way if you tried.
You didn’t CLEAN NOTHING !!!!!!
