Kelly, this technique and exercise will be so handy for me. I have improved no end with the strumming, in the short time I have followed you. I can do the odd hammer on now (still to perfect it though). Like you said my brain seems to lose a gear or two following my hands, and vice versa sometimes too. :-) This technique though enhances the sound and is definitely one to master. Thank you.

Nice tune....What about "PAY ME MY MONEY DOWN" as a suggestion, using F. & C7. Cords. Best wishes. Dave G.

Great question, and I know that can be a challenging thing to get your head (and hands) around! I am sure Kelly will provide you with a great answer, but for now just know that many people will relate :-) (Jamie Houston)

Hey Dan! Glad you are enjoying the videos! Check out this one where we go into the 3/4 strum. It's basically just a modified version of the Paintbrush strum. You just hit with your thumb on the G string then two (brush) strums. The strumming instruction happens at 1:20 of the video ruclips.net/video/SRVvgVg6iU4/видео.htmlsi=onAZBGQQ_c4YtzdP
      Hope that helps! Kelly
