13 Hours Hiking Up Himalaya Alone🇳🇵

- ■ NEPAL, HIMALAYA: With Snickers, Chow Mein and Gongo aboard, I was ready to once again soldier up the Himalayan mountainside. But for how long? And to where? I had no real end goal in sight. If I found a nice lodge I'd simply set up shop for the night. If not, I'd just keep hiking up.
And hike I did as the hours flew by. As I kept climbing, the scenery kept changing fueling my thirst for further exploration. The spectacular Himalayan Lord of the Ringsesque forests, rivers, cliffs, wild deers and ruins of old abandoned settlements had me so intrigued, I wanted to see what's around the next corner, regardless of how much my legs told me they wanted no further part in this trek.
Already at 7:00AM, just two hours after leaving Bamboo Lodge, I had been so exhausted, thoughts of setting up shop at the first lodge possible had started creeping in. Somehow I had kept going. But now as the clock turned to 04:30PM, after nearly 12 hours of hiking uphill, fatigue started getting the better of me .....

This guy is really a hardass
Harald, I'm in a powered wheelchair so I am unable to travel like you do but I am able to vicariously travel through you. This is the beauty of the internet, Thank you, Harald.
❤️
Love from People like u sir, makes harald keep on going..
Was gonna heart your comment but that'd be bad taste given your predicament. Sucks that this happened to you but glad you're getting something out of the vids 😊
Soul matters bro . Your one is pure....
Sorry to hear about your situation but if it makes you feel better, most people can’t travel like this even if they’re not disabled. I love these videos for that reason too. I can’t afford to travel Europe or South America. Hell I’ve only been to a few states in the USA
38:00 seeing Harald interact with pro hikers and their equipment then seeing him with his regular everyday vlog travel gear. Priceless
Laugh seeing it myself 😆
@@HaraldBaldr ha ha
@@HaraldBaldr the Instagram story meme! Lmao 😂
The more crazy hikes you do the more you start to upgrade your gear. Especially when you get caught out & think sh1t I could have died.
@@codegrey9944 Yeah, I'm shaking my head looking at the gear Harald has. He needs a warm coat at least and a waterproof shell. Love this video series but I don't see how he is gonna get up a 6000m peak with the gear (or lack of) he currently has... especially in winter!!
Dude I’m not going to lie, this was one of the best travel videos I’ve ever seen. This whole series has been great.
Haraldo deserves every penny he gets from YT ad revenue, because not only he's helping local businesses but also because he is promoting everywhere he goes, with his entertaining vlogs!

About 2 years ago I sent you a message Harald about how genuine your approach is. You responded by saying you will always keep it real. And you kept your word ! This is pure, genuine, educational and entertaining. Thank you !
This route needs a few more Gongo bars along the way!

AWESOME - yet another great series! 🍻
Was waiting for this impatiently. This trekking series is much better than any Netflix web series!
Thanks Harald for quality content every time and this series is the best❤️!
Yeah we all are in the same side
This was what I was trying to comment just now.
Exactly , I cannot wait to ‘be there with Harald’ .
I look forward to the next video every time I finish one 😇
Watch 14 peaks then!😙
Thank you Harald for showing what life should be like. Once you’ve seen the world, it changes you.
Wish we all could live this
I agree. This happened to me and to my family when we first stepped in Europe.
Harold I like your videos . you hike so far by yourself i would have to go with some friend especially in another country and thanks for making these videos. You put a lot of hard work in these and the tea house are great and cheap it is crazy how cheap everything is.the expansive part is the plain flights and energy you have to expend
It was always my dream to hike in the Himalayas .....but ........ at 80 that dream will not be possible now ..... but ..... I am living my dream through your adventures. Thank you Harald. Take care my friend.
Can't say about hike but If you are up for visiting the Himalayas you can always take a helicopter from Kathmandu sir
@@user-qi3lv5og4v how can you hike with helicopter.please give me some ideas
Well I hope you accomplish ed one of your dreams

Not hike but at least they will be able to visit
80 is the new 40, didn't you know that? Get your arse up there, boy.
In the end where Harald is laying on the bed with his “vlogged out” arms after trekking like a beast for 13 hours saying his iconic “was I filming? Yes I was” was hilarious. Hope to see more badass adventures like this. ✌️
all of that ending was epic:') from the moment he entered the room, then the aching arms, but still got to check the shower head, but then desperately breathing, and then falling in bed exhausted, so funny:')
I love your videos where you are in the wild instead of crowded cities. Good job and very interesting!
This video really feels like your magnum opus to me... So many elements almost went awry, the final stop continued to prove more and more elusive as time went on. I haven't been this thrilled or anxious watching youtube in years. This video just stuck with me for some reason. You started the day so routinely, then trekked through a ghost town and past fog which obscured your hands in front of you, I simply couldn't accomplish the same.
I really respect Harald's travelling skills. He's so relaxed even in frightening situations I don't ever see myself attempting. You can't reach that level of relaxedness unless you have experience. Wow!
word, chill levels over 9000
❤️🇨🇦🤟
True say brother
Not only that but he doing it alone . That what frightens me the most…. 😬
You guys are bunch of ❄ flakes..
I love how he passed that couple who were head to toe in proper cold weather gear with insulated jackets and pants and Harald just casually passes them in a cheap knitted sweater. 13 hour hike man you are a badass Harald.
😂 Was gonna ask them about that but was kind of in a time crunch with the sun going down
US $21 for the hoodie and I truly ❤️ it
Was thinking the exact same thing
Lmao I noticed that too
@@HaraldBaldr it's still not that warm for night over there
The Himalayas are a beautiful part of the world.
I did a tour on a motorcycle in Nepal and had a hard time keeping my eyes on the dirt roads/tracks because of the spectacular and majestic scenery.
How many hours lol Gotta love Harold. These group of videos are the best I’ve seen on the Internet by far.
I don't know why people don't understand that you, Harold, actually are one of the few vloggers who actually try to help as many people as you can. I have been watching you since the India vlog times and I cannot thank you enough for what you have done for the people there.
Thats so true, ive never thought of how much Harald actually gives to the people and it is sooo true, he really helps the needing, hard working people, all the time, even at the highest mountains now with such an kind and respectfull way to be against other human beings. The hell, you know what.. Imma go one round thrue all of Haralds videos and given them a thumbs up for the algorythms so others can learn from this kind of people, that they infact do exist, even in a world full of chaos and fear.
I have seen videos where you have given money to help people in their business!
good to see him try to help the axe wielding man. But failed to chop aha
Harald is living legend. He helped so many in his jurney it is hard to count from local people, to people that try to make a change to rising youtubers... and this is only what we know. He is helping many behind camera I am sure. From India, Sri Lanka to Africa, USA, EU, ... He is real Viking!
Not only is he helping the people on his journey, he's helping people explore the world who may never get the opportunity to explore it themselves in person.
*journey
Harald the Viking sojourner: no documentarian films, National Geographic, travel promotion commercials; can bring such raw contents as you man! There are places I'd never known existed much less going there, if not for your travel vlogs. You deserve an Academy award of motion vlogs!
Most vloggers like to show there generous acts. Having watched Harald for over 3 years now i know he’s always helping people wether he shows it or not. I think thats why he goes months without uploading sometimes, in order to recuperate the federal reserves 😂
This is basically the whole series like "Fireball Peak", which is probably one of my favorite videos. Episodes with people in them are fine, but some of the coziest moments are when he's off on his own.
This should be on Netflix … I literally enjoy every bit of it. He is one of the nicest guy I have ever seen or known
@@chrise842 are you sure?
Every RUclipsrs experience same thing while traveling to Nepal
@@chrise842 good logic. Should I bomb your hometown?
I like how you are so "casually" dressed, with these few hikers about with their walking sticks, rain-proof outfits, scarfs, gloves and hats hahaha you're a beast
He’s doing it like a local, except that the locals make it look so easy.
I can see my beautiful country through your eyes 👀 Thank you Harald ❤️ watching you from Japan.
Harold, I am truly loving this series. I feel this is your best work to date!
Dec 25th? Now THAT'S how to spend a Christmas day. This Nepal series is something special, well done and thank you.
He puts in so much hardwork in his videos. Especially this one.
Wonderful! I especially appreciate your generosity toward the Nepalese along the way. The rushing water is a welcomed backdrop to your hike, and your positive nature excels.
This series of videos is truly wonderful. I’ve been savoring each one per day so I feel like I am traveling with you along the way.

I'm so proud of you my fellow Norwegian Viking! Its really brave to walk up there alone and impressive to always make the time to film and entertain us along the way. Its such a exciting amazing adventure! You give me inspirasjon to travel and make similar videos one day. Viking power!
Harald, i need to commend you on your narration and sense of humor. It's admirable how the quality doesn't dwindle when you are hungry, alone out there, despite the long, solitary trek in those solemn, silent mountains & how it must be affecting you mentally. Your style of "vlogging" is amazing; simple, minimal editing, great camera angles. I have been watching your videos for years now, and your journeys always inspire me.
That's true
Keep up the good work Harald. Your hiking through Nepal and the Himalayan people is so enjoyable to watch. I really appreciate what you are doing. One of the best blogs out there.

It's so amazing to see you taking this adventure. Even though you're by yourself, you're not alone. At least when you visit these small villages. It's very kind of you to at least buy a tea from the locals. They live so simply, and the majority of us wouldn't survive one day in their shoes. Great videos. Keep them coming.

Much better than Karl Rock Nepal videos where he only stays in tourist areas deliberately looking for scams and clickbaits his videos.
This Nepali viewer approves this real Nepali content.🇳🇵🇳🇴
He came nepal just to meet his wife
He just want to earn money that he had spend in Nepal
He is big scammer no need to watch his video neither need to talk about him
He is just an attention seeker
@@bittertruth7630 so lets just ignore the scams, prostitution n blatant drug dealing of tourists .. with Karl exposing such activities hopefully it can be curbed!!
Its okay brother. Karl does that everywhere he goes. We must accept our flaws as well. But we know nepal is not like that. Us hospitable people and beautiful nature offers much more than just that. Every beautiful thing has a small dark spot just like the moon. Chill bro😉
Karl's videos have their own utility . Dont dismiss them outrightly . Those videos are great help to a great many tourists who are naive and inexperienced .

Just found your channel a couple of days ago. Whatever camera you use is spectacular! You have to be the best lone traveler I’ve ever seen! Many blessings to you and thanks for bringing your adventures into our lives.
I always wanted to go there to visit my relatives in Langtang. Unfortunately they all died during the earthquake back in 2015. All the relatives from my dad’s side are gone . I always wanted to go there , but now after watching your videos I don’t think I can do it and thank you so much for capturing all the sites. Felt like I was trekking with you. Can’t wait to see your next video.
I am so sorry for your loss. Those mountains are beautiful & treacherous.
Damn that’s crazy… my condolences
So sorry to hear that. Those people are so kind and beautiful, I don't know why God (or the Universe or whatever) has to take their lives.
So sad to hear about your Dad's family. I hope you get to go to Langtang one day. That would be special to you. I really wish to do the Langtang trek one day. The whole area looks spectacular. Good luck Lily.
The two fascinating things in this himalayan episode are:
1: The never leaving piece of clothe in Heraldo's hand.
2: Capturing the walking and coming back to pick the camera after few steps.

I’ve never gotten tired watching the adventures of Harald Baldr. You are a great human being exploring far away partes of our planet and letting see your discoveries along with us who are traveling along with you Harald. Thank youuuuu. Friend and héroe.
This takes me back. I did the Manaslu trekking with a group of really good friends back in 2016 and it was the most impressive trekking i have ever done. We have been up to 5100 meters through Larke Pass. One of our friends busted her ankle on day 2 and had to take the helicopter flight back. It dawned to me: the only way out of here is on your own feet or by helicopter. The mountains are so high, it`s amazing truly. I still feel blessed that i got to experience this.

Hi Harald. By chance I came across your channel a few days ago and what a great discovery that was. In one breath I have watched your Himalaya hike so far. What an adventure! You know how to make it so that stop watching in the meantime is not an option. I admire your adventures that you undertake on your own. I love the way you communicate with the local population, something tourists should all do. That way you show real respect for them and get so much in return. Harald, keep on moving and keep your head up. I will definitely follow you. Kind regards from Holland from Hans.

Haraldo te sigo desde hace mucho y creo que sos el mejor filmando estas experiencias inolvidables. Gracias
Thanks Harald for the most amazing videos you shared! I will make some effort this year to learn how to film. Best wishes from Marina del Rey CA
The way you embraced the mountains, the cold, the locals, their food and found beauty on their assets; you seriously don't need a DNA test. You are a true Northman. 🙏🧊🤍
On a mountain trek near Pokhara a few years ago now, we came across remains of a town that had been just a few days before completely swept away by falling rocks many the size of a bus. The trail was gone and our guide had to show us both across a steep unstable gravel slope to safety instead of the previous existing safe route. Just goes to show how mountains can change one's plans. Good luck with improving your axe wielding Norseman skills.
This is the best series you have done so far. I just took one year off my jobb and my plan is (after watching your videos) among other things is going to this trekk you are doing seems amazing. You my friend are an inspiration too all of us. Much love from Sweden! Take care and stay safe!

I have been watching your videos for a while Harald, and they have inspired me to do at least one of these long treks in my 20s.
Fun-fact: I don't know if it's interesting or not, but the place ruined by the earthquake "ghodatabela" at 0:27:14 literally translates to Horse Stable. So, maybe that's why there were horses at the place.
This has to be up there as one of harald’s greatest adventures, loving every minute of these videos.
