  • DAY 2: The Double Overhand Knot - Also called the Barrel Knot, this is more secure stopper knot to the Overhand Knot and also forms both sides of a Double Fisherman’s Knot.

    He mentions some uses in the description of the video. I also use this one as part of a Canadian Jam Knot to secure the tag end. It gives more surface area for the rest of the knot to bite onto and also makes grabbing the tail end and releasing the knot a little easier. It's also great for a small lanyard on a knife, the type used for blades deep set into their sheathes where a little extra purchase helps in drawing.
