You will learn the importance of router DNS names, router types, router locations, and why they are keys to better understanding traceroute results. Why would you use TCP protocol to use in your Traceroute vs. ICMP? Understand the importance of network boundaries, MPLS networks, and how load balancers impact your Traceroute results. I will show what to focus on and what is not essential in your Traceroute results. Finally, I will introduce MTR as an alternative to Traceroute.
