The phrase "we're so back" is perfect for Doki
Ngl, this whole kurosanji drama is really benefiting matara, rain, and doki a lot. Which is good. Free promotion. I honestly don't know what the kuro ceo is thinking. He seems to be misunderstanding the entertainment business model. It's not like other business where you have products and employees are just a replaceable asset. Entertainment businesses main asset are it's talents. I honestly don't know why a guy who's been in the industry for so long doesn't seem to get this. He should stop making enemies out of his talents. It would also prevent many future talented people from applying

@@Potatoras poor management ayyy.... you'd be surprised by how many previous fans or low key current fans are saying this is sad because now hololive would be the 1 top and companies would follow them somewhat. Apparently, nojisanji's management was good as well because they let their talents grow on their own... I say that's bad management but to each their own I guess.

Of all the Niji survivors it feels like Doki is the one that has fought the hardest to recover as much of her old identity as possible.
she is just staying as who she is, all these things were never the company's and she doesn't need to take it back from anyone

We may have lost Selen, but we've gained Dokibird.
Dokibird actually started the timeline. Then she graduated in 2021 when she got accepted into NijisanjiEN as Selen Tatsuki. Fast forward to February 5th 2024 and Selen gets the boot and the yatch starts sinking and Dokibird returns

there is something relieving about NOT having the Nijisanji logo in the intro
Left adds more frames and second round mimics the original, but keeping the start different is a nice touch.

Doki making sure that her past self will always be linked to her is such a power move, while her time niji was hell for her and others she is not ashamed of who she was in the contrary she is proud of who she was, the recognition she had and the achievements she managed to get are all hers and no one can take them away from her!

There will be another version when Doki gets her new skinsuit,
You can tell the animator threw in way more detail for the Doki dance. The Selen dance, by comparison, has that Flash animation feel of a single still image being rotated and translated along vector points.
As well as the pet having more unique animation. The Selen pet basically only flap wings and headbop.
I might be analysing this a bit too much, but I can kinda see some symbolism after comparing the dancing patterns of both animations.
(0:00 - 0:24) Selen's pattern from this 1st verse of the song, she always uses that exact same pattern for every verse of the song, so the patterns is very "limited". But Doki's patterns from each verse are always "new/different".
It kinda symbolizes that when she was still in nijisanji, Selen was very "limited" with her resources and content making because of certain rules and contracts the company has. But when she finally leaves and returns to being Doki, she's finally a free bird and can now make "new/different" content that she always wanted to make.
(0:37 - 1:01) Then the patterns from this 2nd verse of the song, Doki's pattern now matches with Selen's. It symbolizes that at the end of the day, it's still her. I saw a comment earlier that perfectly describes it. "I might have a different face, but I'm still the same person you know".
And lastly, this is most favorite symbolism yet. (1:38 - 1:49) Doki's pattern from this Last verse of the song is similar to her 1st one, but it is changed so that the pose of "Doki showing off her Dragoons" will be shown last (this pose 1:46). It kinda symbolizes that Doki is thanking her Dragoons for supporting her and always being by her side from beginning till the end 😁
Intentional or not, the animator is still a genius :D

Ah thank you I did know her when she was Selen Tatsuki as well in October 2022 I only knew Selen for like a year and a half. I still wonder why Doki chose the form of a tomato I don't wanna be all annoying orange but I'd hate to see her tomato form become ketchup.

I like how it looks like Doki is hyping up the dragoon like at 0:14 and how the dragoon is hyping her up as well during the walkaround section.

I like the Selen better, but Doki is fine still. Man Doki got back everything, her audience, her dragoons, her 🏆, her YT playbutton, her intro. She won, she just needs to stream so that her previous life is nothing more than a memory.
I agree, but I don't want Selen Tatsuki to just a memory that gets forgot, she achieved a lot despite the hardships, and I want people to at least remember those times with fondness like me. Not to mention I can't look at fanart of Selen (Mainly lunar fairy and ocean law stuff and not feel happy and nostalgic.)
I think it's important to keep her past accomplishments alive. She worked hard for them and should be more than just a memory. Now I'm having flashes of Doki holding a vey long sword and flying towards me menacingly.

The original animation was made from a combination of commissioned work (paid for by Doki) and copyright free music. It's ironic justice that Niji's refusal to pay for anything has allowed Doki to reclaim her identity so completely.

I'm happy she got out of that hellhole, even though it was at a huge cost for her, and I'm really happy she got to keep the music, the style of the intro and the name Dragoons.
I'm glad she got out too, she also got keep everything. The fan name, the loading screen and BGM and the Dragoon design but tweaked a bit.

I actually cried happy tears after seeing Doki re-use her old intro screen. It's so iconic and the Doki's animation is slightly better.

i like selen's character design more, but i love the dokibird intro so so so much more

very early on, it looked a lot like Barbara from genshin impact. But now, it looks more like a sassy french thief..... which is fitting considering her lore. lol

I love how much she improved on her old Intro, The Dokibird version has her hyping up her "Fan" the little Dragoon constantly, Which is something she does a LOT of the time for her fans, Her old Intro didn't have that much cheering from Selen's side of things.

NGL Doki's version is a much bigger improvement than when she was Selen
